So for my birthday I get to go to Disney World in Summer of 2012 now I know that's a long ways away but this summer I will be going to D.C. and Easter 2012 to Italy and I need a new camera(s) since someone dropped mine and the pictures have been blurry ever since anyway I was wondering which one of these video cameras is better and why this one
http://store.kodak.com/store/ekconsus/en_US/pd/PLAYSPORT_Video_Camera__Zx3/productID.169976100

or the flip mino HD or if you have a better suggestion I'd love to hear it

I was also wondering what camera you would recommend for just plain old picture taking I know the Kodak one takes stills but I would really like to have two separate cameras. They need to be reasonably small like the flip or kodak camera and need to last I need them to carry over to 2012 and need them to stand being dropped once or twice. Thanks in Advance for the help.

I've used the Kodak Playsport and will probably pick up one for myself before my next trip. It's not a high end camera by any means. However, if you want someting inexpensive that can get wet it's a great choice IMO. I've also played with the Flip Mino HD and didn't see much difference in the quality from the Kodak Playsport.

Both of these camera produce video that is great for sharing at smaller sizes on the web, but if you plan to edit video and show it on a television or other large format you may be disappointed. And I would not use either of these cameras to take stills.

As far as still cameras.... it really depends on your budget and what features you want.

Awesome just so long as they both take good video it's good with for the still camera money isn't really a problem but it has to take good clear pictures and has to be small like the video cameras.
Thanks for the help and to be honest with you I'm very camera illiterate.

I don't know of any camera that won't be broken if dropped.

One disadvantage of most (all?) of the Flips is that you need to bring your laptop on vacation with you. Nobody can empty it out onto a DVD or change the memory card for you after it is full.

[f I can bring only one camera I would choose a still camera. Lots of still cameras also take video so I would have almost the best of both worlds

The Olympus tough 6000 is shockproof upto a 5foot drop... Buydig has it refurbished for under $100 so if does die not the biggest loss.

I didn't know that about the flip I just assumed all cameras ran on memory cards. And that's very true about the cameras breaking I mean like I dropping it on the bed or the rug. We barely dropped my friends on my bed and it was in pieces. I kinda want to keep the cameras separate (call me crazy I know) is there a still camera that you particularly like for clear day and night indoors and out pictures?
