Hi All,

I'm looking for a new camera for our upcoming trip. I want something easy to use with good quality. Most importantly I want a camera that when you point and click it takes the picture immediately. I currently have a kodak easy share and it drives me crazy the delay! Am looking to spend around $200. Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated! I know I can count on all your help! TIA!

Try looking at the Canon Powershot series. My husband has taken some really great pictures with his. I use a Canon DSLR, but for DH's army in the field shots, pics the the kids, improntu dance sessions - lol - the pwershot has done its job quite nicely!
I also have a Canon S3 IS that I LOVE! It is a step up from your typical point and shoot camera with more options but ISO etc. is more limited that with an SLR, so I upgraded. The pictures are BEAUTIFUL with the S3 IS though!

I agree with the Canon recommendation... though all point and shoots are going to have some delay. You will probably have to move up to an SLR to get completely rid of that. I do love my Canon 1100IS though, and it is always in my pocket at places like Disney...when I don't want to be carrying the DSLR around. I have noticed that after several thousand pictures on a point and shoot the delay starts to get more pronounced ...and that generally means it is time to get a new camera. For me, with the number of pictures I take, I end up with a new point and shoot at least every 2 years.

I have this question too, and I noticed a number of Canon fans. A photographer friend suggested the Canon G10 for product shots for my website. I am thinking that we may make the plunge if it will work for Disney trips and other kid outings. Any thoughts?

Thanks all! My friend recommended a Canon Power Shot Elphi....is that in the same series you guys mentioned above?

i totally can relate to this question as i have gone through 2 kodaks within 2 1/2 yrs...and told myself that i will not buy another one...after much researching what i wanted i ended up getting the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H20...all i can say is wow....love it...10.1 MP, 10x optical zoom, 3" screen, video with sound...you will not be disappointed at all...but plan on spending another $80.00...so worth it...watch for sales...that is when i bought mine for about $50.00 cheaper...check out the reviews for it...

you might want to consider one of the Olympus waterproof cameras. picked up a Stylus 850sw about a month ago and love it. i can take it everywhere - pool, ocean without any problems. Decent pictures for a point and shoot.

I totally agree with this. We just upgraded our Kodak Easyshare Z740 (YUCK!) to this Canon: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=183&modelid=18138

So far I'm very happy with it. I was able to pick it up on Amazon for $169 with free shipping, so it's a bit less than going to Best Buy or similar stores.

Thank you everyone for the great recommendations! I knew I could count on the Dis!!! We are going to look around this weekend!
