Hi

I am looking into getting a new camera. Right now I have a Canon S2. I have been looking at the Canon EOS Rebel XTi with 18-55 Lens. Any thoughts? Anyone have this one? Thanks

It is a good starter dSLR, I am sure you will probably sooner rather than later want a more powerfull zoom though because your now used to a much more powerfull zoom. It should be relatively easy for you to switch as your used to canon.

But just to be fair
The other entry level cameras are the Nikon d40 series, the Pentax K200 (I am pretty sure it is out) Sony Alpha (I think the current one is the 200 but not sure again), and Olympus E-410 They all have their pros and cons.

Play with them all and get the one you like the best.

I have a S2 and a Pentax K100D. I still use the S2 a little, but it is mainly the DD's to use now. The K100D was recently replaced with the K200D. The higher up model from the K100D is the K10D and is a really good deal now that it was replaced with the K20D. FWIW, the Samsung DSLRs are just rebadged Pentaxes, but can sometimes be cheaper. The hardly ever get mention on here because they do most of their sales outside the US. I am not sure of the equiv. model numbers.
