I always have a few in my bag. Again, I am not sure if they make a difference, but they certainly don't hurt. When ever we purchase anything with that contains these, I always set them aside for my bag.
On another note, I have a friend who uses those hand-warmers in his bag for our cold New England winters. He take a good number of photos at swimming matches and puts in a hand warmer before he leaves the house. This way the lenses are up to temperature when he gets to the meet.

I used to be a jacket-junkie, but in recent years, it's changed to bags too. My lowepro slingshot is great for my DH when he is being the sherpa, but it just doesn't sit right on me. I'll have to look into the Crumpler. Thanks.
