It really is a never-ending quest to find a perfect camera bag. I've bought a few myself. :)

So true!! Keep in mind I have 3 cameras but I have two Tamrac bags, a Lowepro, a couple of misc camera bags and I've been debating about getting the Lowepro Slingshot 100 for my DSLR since one of the misc bags that I bought for it I decided isn't really the perfect bag for it when I'm on vacation.:rolleyes1

Soupermom - To confuse you even more, you way want to check out the photography bags on www.crumplerbags.com. They carry these in my local Circuit City so I'm assuming CC carries them nationwide. You may have better luck if you go into a store such as CC, Ritz Camera, etc and look at their bags since it's sometimes hard to tell how a camera will fit when you buy a bag online.

OK, so I broke down and bought an S3, so now I need a cool camera bag! Anyone know where I might find some different options other than the typical black/red/blue bag? A DW/Mickey bag would be great, but I can't find any of those either. There are a couple on eBay, but nothing that I just HAVE to have, or want to pay $10 shipping for!

Thanks!

Camera bags are supposed to be NERDY, getting a cool one would be unnatural.

But I do think my light sabor keychain is cool...

I love my rugged looking Domke F6

^ I actually haven't received it, but I'll get it on Monday and I leave for DLand on Thursday, so I'll let you know. :)

MY batteries went out in mine after I let DS play with it!:sad1:

I have a Tamrac messenger style bag. It is camo. Mine holds my Rebel with 1 lens on and a small lens with it. It is great for when I want to travel light.

I placed my order on 4-5 and it hasn't shipped yet. Any idea how long it takes them to make it and ship it out?

TIA

I plan on using Magic Express and would like to use my tripod the first night of my trip. Is a tripod OK in carry on luggage in a plane? It folds to 14" so it will fit in my backpack fine.

I doubt they would let you carry it on. But to be sure I would call your airline, or the local airport to check.

One more phone call might be worthwhile, the TSA. The airlines do not have much to do with security screening, that is all TSA. Unfortunately TSA regulations change often, to where even many TSA employees don't know them or don't enforce them consistently.

Even so, if TSA approves a tripod you have a much better chance of getting it onboard then if the airline says it is ok, only to have TSA turn it back at the security check.

Here is a link to the TSA website of what can and cannot go on a plane according the them...

TSA

I called TSA and they said that as long as it is within the size dimensions allowed by the airline that TSA will allow it through security. I may take a small rolling bag that does qualify as one of my carry on items then if I had to I could go back and check it with the airline.

I would still make sure that you talk to the screeners when you are checking the non-carry-on luggage. I tried to bring my aluminum monopod a few months ago and was denied despite it not being on any forbidden lists. Since I had time, I was able to stick it in the checked luggage, otherwise I'm not sure what would have happened with it.
