I was trying to get a night shot in the Animal Kingdom. I didn't have a tripod, so I moved over a table into the middle of the path and set my camera with the Gorillapod on it. I was patiently waiting for everyone to be out of the frame. There was this one couple just standing in front of me about 15 feet away. I was thinking to myself, "Why in the world won't those (&(% people move so I can get this shot." They weren't moving and I wasn't shooting. Finally, the guy walks over to me and says, "Aren't you going to take our picture?" "Uh, no, actually I was waiting for everyone to clear out for this shot..." The guy said, "Aren't you photopass?" Nope, just a tourist....

:rotfl: You would think the table would give it away that you weren't a PP(not that a table looks like anything but an extremely professional piece of equipment).

I guess I just don't really understand how people would mistake anyone with a camera (I sort of understand a camera and tripod, but in your case just a camera) for a Disney photographer, but I guess weirder things have happened

Has anyone used this?
How much does it cost?
Can you upload them to Shutterfly or Walmart?
Do they come out clear?
How long to download w/cabel modem?

Here is a little bit of help if you are still following this. This is my take on the whole thing.

I had heard about the prebuying the cd before the trip but we so seldom have our pictures taken I didn't follow up on this. So, we had some pictures taken in a few spots and when we came back I checked them out. If I had it to do over again, I would have gotten the cd and had more pictures taken.

Downloads cost $14.95 each. It was a quick download because they are zipped files and I printed them out and they are a good quality so far. I haven't tried printing them outside of my computer yet but I will since I like true prints for my best pictures. But at $14.95 this adds up fast so if you haven't gone, consider the prepaid cd for $100 and have lots of pictures taken. hope this helps

1) for some reason my exif info is in lightroom( at least the iso etc comes up in the histogram) but not once i do any edits in photoshop elements. i have the save lightroom adjustments to photoshop in the box that comes up before photoshop opens. but somehow it doesn't appear to be saving the exif..wondering if something else has to be selected to include the exif?
2)i am ending up with 3 files, the jpg i save to download to zen, the original raw and someplace i am getting a tif file saved as well..thinking it must be someplace when i edit after lightroom since that is what comes up when i save the file to jpg( which i change to jpg then but when i open the folder on my computer it has 3 files per edited photo) but not sure what i should have set in light room so i only have the raw and the jpg after the final editing.
i'm using windows vista and really haven't even looked at it's photo stuff so maybe it is happening there? didn't have this problem when i was using the beta lightroom and photoshop elements( 5)

You may already know this, but in case you've changed your workflow at all...

"Save for web" strips EXIF data to reduce the file size. If you want to keep that data intact, use "Save As" instead.

Also, check Lightroom export settings to see what you're exporting. Remember you can change what is exported from LR to Photoshop /Elements etc.

i figured out the tiff is basically my only selection under preferences even though i have it set to jpg in export, it must still send it as a tiff file. i don't think painter x accepts the other one( psd or whatever the initials are) so that is where that is coming from. so i don't see anyway i can get around that.

i always save as so not sure still where the exif is getting lost but don't see anything i could change to keep it or lose it.
but thanks for trying:)

Taken on Monday at Hollywood Studios. He was a riot!!!

I have recently returned for a trip to WDW and used my Lowpro back pack to carry my camera equipment. I found it a pain to put on and off when I wanted to get the camera out!

I don't carry lots of equipment just the body, one lens and maybe my Camcorder!

What bag do use???

I have the Lowepro Slingshot 100 that I used for my Nikon D40 and two lenses. There is a small top compartment for some smaller items and another pocket on the front. I like the bag for the most part and you can swing it to the front to access things without removing it. One thing I did not like about it was if you just sling it on your shoulder and not latch the cross strap across your chest it doesnt stay on your shoulder very well. It would fall front and consequently most of the time I ended up setting the bag on the ground at my feet if I could while snapping pictures. If you are going to carry it for some distance/time before needing to really access anything and dont mind the cross strap its a nice compact bag. I recently upgraded to a D300 and just today a Kata DR467 was delivered to my door. Its got way more room (I could take both bodies, my three lenses a laptop and still have room for LOTS more. They also have a DR465 smaller version that does not have the laptop section in the back. I think I am really going to like this bag just from transferring all my goodies into it. Things seem like they will be easy to access this bag and its comfortable to wear when packed.

Oh, I have several bags. For a small kit, I like the Crumpler $5 mil home. I wear it messenger style and found it quite comfortable for a day at the parks. But, as my lens collection grew, so did my bag collection. My new favorite is the Kata 3N1 series of bags. I have the larger size which is probably too big for your needs. So, you may want to look at one of the smaller sizes. But, it can be worn as a backpack or sling bag. Even when worn as a backpack, you can drop one strap and swing the bag around to access your gear without having to take the bag off. Very handy! It also has a top compartment for various goodies. It also comes with a rain cover - very good to have in FL!

I like Domke. The bag below fits a DSLR with kit lens, and a camcorder.

Or a sippy cup if you need too. :)

(Shown with DP1, and not a DSLR)

Thanks guys just off to have a look at your recommendations, they all sound great :)

I will be taking my Crumpler $6M this time around. I have a holster one I used with my XT, but it only just fit my XT+Sigma 70-300. It won't fit my 40D+70-200. I will let you know how it goes.

I have been looking for a new camera bag for quite a while now; I am very picky about what I buy. So I have been checking out all kinds Tamrac, Lowpro and so on. Well I saw some pretty good deals on the web and also went and check out the real thing at local camera stores. But I was never able to pick out one that I was ready to spend $50-$60 or more on. Well today I was at Sam's Club and looking at the camera stuff, as usual, when I came across a bag that looked just like the Lowpro Slingshot (the one I had been leaning toward). I was checking it out, how it was made, what came with it and so on. Well I telling you there were no differences between the Sams Club one and the Lowpro, and the one at Sams was only $39.99 plus no shipping cost. I've posted a few pic and plan on using it on my April WDW trip so I'll let you know how it holds up.
