I want a bag that works like those tents in the Harry Potter books--from the outside it appears to be a regular tent but inside is a three-bedroom house--

Yeah, the tent in Harry Potter was cool, but I'd ratehr have a TARDIS - storage and free transportation, all in one. And since it's a time machine, too, you'll never be late fo an appointment.

That's a great price. I came home with this: http://www.kata-bags.com/Item.asp?pid=400&perentId=4&ProdLine=4 I think I like it, but I'm not thrilled. The compartment with the vertical zipper is a bit of a pain to get into. What I do like though is it's not as tall as some of the other backpacks. I like the Tamrac Adventure 7 but I'm small, and it's just not comfortable for me to carry.

That's a neat looking bag!

Its hard to find one bag that will do it all sometimes. I will take two bags sometimes and pull out the minimum for where I'm going and put it into the small one or even maybe in a jacket or vest pockets. With digital it seems to be less to have to carry.

Ok I just ordered a E-pod tripod:thumbsup2 I will let you all know how its does when it comes in!
:cool1:

Hmmmm....yeah, I'd take a TARDIS too. I could go back to 1955 and watch Walt open DL and then head forward to when WDW opened. ;)

Nice to see a Doctor Who fan here in the forum!! I carry a Doctor Who action figure in my gadget bag (see how I'm still on topic???) and I take his photo at various places during my travels.

The above link has the figure in Japan and Hong Kong... including the Tokyo Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland. (I have a photo of the figure attempting to remove Excalibur.)

(OK....so I'm a tad on the warped side... but it makes for some interesting photos and some great stares.)

No, no - "warp" is a Star Trek term, not Whovian.

I have a Japanese friend who takes a small stuffed bear with her everywhere and photographs it. She takes it more places than she takes her husband.

I also have a filter wrench.

Wow! TU, Dr_Z! brilliant! I hope I can find one by tomorrow! In May I had a CP filter stuck on my walking around lens all day:( Finally, on the long boat ride to DS I was able to get a grip with the help of lens cleaning cloths.Haven't used it since.

In my to wipe smooges & hands

clean socks in a ziplock bag
a small lint free towel
a few small lens cloths
gel packs for moisture (wishful thinking)

Light at night!
little LED lights hanging on my tripod, hooked inside the bag and outside on carribinders

a few gallon size ziplock bags! DS spilled red poweraide inside a backpack that had a lens case in it. TG, it was saved by a ziplock bag.

I better start packing:scared1:

Sounds like you know the drill pretty well when it comes to gear and kids :thumbsup2

Here is a pic of a filter wrench so you can look for one sometimes places have them but dont know what they are LOL. I got a filter stuck once due to temp changes (was hot when it went on and got stuck when in the AC) and I messed with it forever! Till my uncle showed me about these they are great!

And by the way mine was a polarizer also LOL :lmao:

We went last year to have our Photopass session at the Gran Floridian.

We were please with the results and are thinking of doing it again, but somewhere different.

They are now offering sessions at Saratoga Springs or Polynesian resort....which would you recommend?!?!

on my recent trip I used both a Slingshot 200 sling backpack and an Tamrac Express 7 messenger style bag. They both had their good points (I alternated them daily) and would recommend either.

I saw this Tamrac Velocity in Ritz this a.m. Looks like a nice bag. You can carry it a few different ways. Around the back, on the side or in front. It moves around you pretty easily and comes in different sizes. Might be worth checking out.

Look for the Velocity series

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the comments. This is what I ended up getting http://www.adorama.com/TR517BK.html?searchinfo=tamrac 517&item_no=1
It is the Tamrac 517 - Tele-Zoom Pak - Black
Here is the description:
This Tamrac original design holds a 35mm SLR camera with an attached lens up to 7 1/2 inches long. An internal padded divider provides protection for extra lenses or accessories. A large outside pocket will hold a flash, extra film and accessories. Inside the fast-access zippered top is a Windowpane-Mesh pocket for filters, lens caps or cleaning materials. Remove the non-slip shoulder strap and carry the bag on the belt as a holster.

I went to the photo store near my house and tried out a few bags. THis one will go across your chest and has easy access to get into the bag without stuff falling out of it. I can fit my camera with lens and also put one addiional lens in the bag. I put memory cards, cords, manual etc in the front pocket. It also has a side thing that you can buy additional accessories to attach another lens bag or water bottle holder. I did try out the Loepro belt bag and it really felt like I was pregnant with it on. Literally you could put a plate on the top of your bag and eat your lunch comfortably.

I have been lusting after the crumpler bag for some time now and I am thinking about just taking the plunge and ordering. Probably the 6/7 mil home, I have a Rebel XT, kit lens, a 18-75mm, and hope to have a lensbaby 2.0 and a 50mm by the time I go to Disney next year. I will probably only take the 18-75mm, the 50mm and lensbaby on the trip oh and my point & shoot just for a the days that i don't feel like carrying around all my gear. I was curious if anyone else owns this bag and how easy it was to carry around Disney. Did you have a little extra room for 'stuff' like KTTW, credit cards, etc? I currently have a LowePro backpack but it is bulky and it actually gets quite uncomfortable to carry around all day.
