do you have to get a card for every pic you take or are all your photos off of one card ?

No, you only need one card. Just hand it to any photog as you pass thru the park. It's very easy, and worth it. We always end up buying at least one photo.

BTW: If you bring a camera, you can ask them to take one with it, although it's not guaranteed they will. Just know that it will not be the quality in composition that you'll get if they use thier own camera (but it's free).

Strange request, I know - a picture of the people who will take our picture!!!

I am putting a trip together for 20 family members and want to give them some inforamtion about Photopass. I know when I explain what it is they might remember seeing Photopass photographers in the parks but I would like to add a picture to jog their memories.

Thanks!

Here you go....

Here's how they look at night... sorry about the blur, it's F1.4 and 1/10th of a second. In other words, it was dark out! It also didn't help that I was pretty much just zooming by and took it on the spur of the moment.

This is Main Street USA, in case it wasn't obvious.

Here's one trying to stay dry...Since they use a Nikon D70 as I do and it is not exactly waterproof. :sad1: Rather than a baggie I was using my Pentax W20 P&S which does happen to be water proof. :)

Gdad -- how do you like your W20? Thinking of getting the W30.

I ordered the album about three weeks ago, and I got it in the mail in one week! I couldn't believe it was that fast. I love it. I ordered extra pages, so my book has 32 pages instead of just 20, but I think it was well worth the money. All the pictures look perfect. I was worried that the pages that I only had one big photo would be distorted, but they look perfect too! The only thing that I didn't like is that you don't get to choose the color of your book. The black is very nice, but I still would have liked some options like the Kodak Gallery allows. I definetly will get another for my next trip in Sept.

How does "captioning" work? I can't get more than one line of typing to appear under a page that contains ONE photo. I've been very careful not to exceed the max character limitations too...spaces included. :confused3

I had trouble adding text sometimes also. I think it depends on the layout you choose whether you can use the max characters or not. I had to shorten my text a couple of times to get it to work.

I really appreciate your feedback. I put in a call to the PhotoPass people and had to leave a message. I've been told they'll get back to me within a few days to answer my questions. I hope I hear from them soon. I can't wait to order another album. This one I'll keep for me.

My next trip to WDW is the first week in June. I am looking for a light bag to carry my Canon XT and 1 or 2 lenses. I have a Tamrac bag that can be a fanny type bag, but its kind of big and heavyish. I also have a back pack bag, but I don't want to use a back pack due to the heat in June. I was thinking of rigging something with closed cell foam and my Baggalini, but I can only seem to get 1 lens and the camera body in the bag comfortably. Is there a good, light bag that is a side sling?

Thanks,

since i am always on the search for the holy grail of camera bags, i looked at the lowepro sling bag.....it seems ok size wise but the only thing i did not like was the thing i hate about a back pack is you have to hold it horizontally when you are taking something out or in...same with this bag, you swing it around but still have to hold it horizontally or it seems like everything would fall out....so for me the search continues but it was a good size and looked promising till i tried it. maybe there is another way to use it as the sales woman didn't know much about it:confused3

I have smallest Lowepro Slingshot, the AW100. I take it everywhere. Mostly I throw it over my left shoulder. If I'm going to be doing a lot of walking I pull the strap on over my head so that it crosses my chest. I thought it would look dorky that way but it's comfortable so I got over it.

Currently the AW100 has:
Top Compartment: MiniDV Camcorder, an extra MiniDV tape, the camcorder USB cable and the D80 USB cable.
Front Pocket: Dell Pocket PC, Bluetooth USB adapter, USB Thumb Drive, USB memory card reader
Main Compartment: Nikon D80 with 18-135 lens attached and hood reversed, Nikon 70-200 with hood reversed, SB-600 Speedlight, Small bag for extra AA batteries and the base for the Flash, Laminated D80 quick reference guide, extra memory card.

And that's the smallest Slingshot :thumbsup2

Jann, I'm not sure what you mean by holding the bag horizontally. I pull the bag under my left arm to the front of my body. This leaves the pack on it's side with the front of the pack perpendicular to the ground. To get out my camera I only have to partially unzip the main compartment. I only unzip the side that is now on top. I don't undo the buckles to completely unzip the main compatment unless I am changing lenses. I can get my camera in and out pretty easily without taking the pack off. I just pull open the velcro into the section with the flash if I need it.

That's one of the larger packs in the picture but that's the position for getting the camera in and out.

the way the saleswoman used it she opened the whole thing up and held it perpendicular to the ground...like you would open a back pack, basically lay it flat( like a turtle on it 's back)..if you leave it partly zipped( like if a backpack was partly zipped) would you be able to get into stuff on the bottom? or would you have to completely turn it on it's back and open the whole thing..not explaining this well so maybe i just need to go to another camera shop to see one without the "trying to be helpful" saleswoman:rotfl:

Yes...this was certainly the most difficult part of completing my total package of camera equiptment. It took me 2 good months of trial/error to finally decide.
Even harder than deciding what camera to buy..:lmao:
I found that its all a matter of personal preference and anticipated usage of the equiptment....which for me is: Nikon D80 + 18-135 + 70-300VR + batt/cards/tripod...etc

Yes, Jan..Guess there's no generic answer. I too tried many many cases (took the camera + longest lens..every time to test it). I was leaning toward the sling, Tamarac has a sling also.. but, for me, it seemed awkward...maybe for a guy its a different feel. SO..now what?

OK...Back to trial/error....
Well... I re-thought my proposed travel/usage and decided that I needed 1 main carry case (the smallest possible..HATE carrying stuff:headache: ) and 1 day case.
I got a Lowepro Micro Trekker 200...fits everything + room for my monoculars and travel tripod straps on the bottom or slide slips:

For a day case..Humm..got a Toploader TLZ 2:

I'll know more after I trial it out on my solo May Disney trip and also have 1 mo. in Europe happening in June/July on a Danube/Rhine river cruise...so we'll see how it goes.
Hey...as long as the case also holds the instruction book on the camera, Im happy!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
