I have a Canon Rebel T2i camera. I recently got a zoom lens so now I need a bag to fit it all in! I'm thinking a backpack one would be good, especially for our upcoming trip to the World. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Just looking for something that is not big!
Thanks.

We have the same type camera. My husband has a triangular shaped camera bag that is pretty fitted to the camera and pretty compact. We can fit the camera in the bag with the zoom lens on it. It has a long carry strap that can be adjusted so you can also wear it around your waist.

Do you know the name or have a link that I could look at it online?

I have a T1i with an 18-35mm lens. I bought a Swiss Gear messenger style bag and I love it. It does not look like a typical camera bag and it is also not very big, which is why I like it. It also holds two additional lens, I have a 50mm lens and the tokina 11-16 in it.

There are a couple of additional pockets to hold non camera things like a cell phone, park tickets, credit cards, etc.

I got mine at Best Buy but it looks like Amazon.com has it along with a few other places. Google Swiss Gear DSLR camera bag and you can see a picture.

I do messenger style bags myself. I personally like the Tamrac Adventure Messenger 4 an the Crumpler million dollar home bags. But we're all different and I strongly suggest trying bags out in the store if you can. You can waste a lot of cash really fast on bags that just aren't comfortable for you or just don't work with how you shoot.

And don't forget a comfortable camera strap.

How big is your zoom & what do you consider a big bag? Might I suggest trying LowePro's bagfinder (from their site click on products>bagfinder). It asks various questions and allows you to "put" some items in a bag then spits out what are possible matches.

I just got the FastPack 100. It's been perfect so far since it stil has a decent size bag part at the top and a protected camera area at the bottom. And since I'm on the shorter side of things I appreciate that it's pretty compact.

I have tons of camera bags for every situation!

I guess it depends how do you like to wear your bag...sling? on back? messenger style?

I went through a lot of guess work as well when choosing a bag like how does all my stuff fit in there, etc.

This is a great site showing how bags are used with the equipment inside them: http://www.cambags.com/
