We've stayed at the BWV 2 times with a standard view and they were both on the ground floor. I remember reading that 20% of the BWV were Standard Views. With 5 floors, then all the standard views are ground floor rooms. Has everyone else who had a standard view had them on the ground floor???

Just checking to see if it's a true conclusion.

No, I've had standard views on the 3rd & 4th floors, either along the front driveway or facing the Swan. I've never had a ground floor standard view in 4 stays.

Maybe the room type(studio, 1, 2, or 3 BR) plays a factor. I was in a SV studio on the 3rd floor.

Basically all the rooms looking out to the same area will be the same view. If an area of the hotel looks over the parking lot, all floors there should be a standard view. My parents just had a fifth floor standard view.

I had a 1st floor unit, looking right at the back of Leaping Horse Libations. I would have thought this was pool view, but I quite clearly had Std view reserved (and those were the points costs, allright). DW hated the location and the fact that it had the roll in shower, but it was very convenient for getting right out to the Boardwalk - no elevators, no long walks, just pop right out to the pool or the Boardwalk. And I had thought the Std views were all parking lot or entrance way views.

I think we had the same room. We reserved a one bedroom Std view and it was right outside the elevators. We actually were very happy with the location.

We've stayed in standard view rooms at the BWV at least 7 times. Never had a ground floor room or an HA room. All overlooked the entrance driveway and most were on the 3rd or 4th floor. Been in studios, 1 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms. Had a lobby level room once (2nd floor).

If you've been assigned a ground floor room twice, it's just "luck of the draw".

Best wishes -

We've stayed standard view 3 x's. We've been on the 4th floor each time (one studio, 2 one bedrooms). We've looked at the driveway twice and the Swan once.

One time, our standard view faced...well... a big tree! Couldn't see hardly anything accept this tree right in front. If we chopped the tree down, I believe we'd be facing the front entrance.

Another time, we faced the Swan. On that trip, we were treated to a view of fireworks over at MGM for a big private party. Great fireworks, but wow was the music loud.... generally we were very pleased with this view. I though it was a preferred, and had to doublecheck with the front desk.

Got a standard 2BR booked for thanskgiving 2005... will report back then.

I've seen posts where people complain that they received rooms in this area as preferred pool view. Sounds like you were "upgraded" (if you want to call it that).

We had a STD studio on the 3rd floor facing the driveway.

But we never really heard the cars or anything because of the large landscaped area between our balcony and that area.

That night we were treated to a great view of the fireworks portion of illuminations for about 5 minutes. (at least I thought it was from Epcot.)

We only get standard view rooms and we've never had one on the ground floor.

We always get them at the end of the looooooooooooong hallway though. I guess since we are there for the marathon they figure we can handle the extra exercise. :earboy2:

We were just there in a SV 2br lockoff and were on the 5th floor - right across from the taxi/bus stands.

Likely the roll-in shower is the factor here. Otherwise, rooms with pool views are PV. We usually book SV rooms, but have been offered "upgrades" if we would take the handicapped accessible room that was available. At least once, one of these was a Luna Park pool view room.

We had 4 sv rooms on the second floor. 2 of them were studios with the small daybed, deacons bench. Interestingly, the pv studio which faced the pool also had the daybed, and quite frankly, that pv had the worst of the views, at least that's my opinion. It was a very obstructed view of the pool. The other rooms a sv 2b and studio were just a bit down the hall, away from the elevators, but not very long walks, at least not in our estimations. We saw fireworks from Illuminations from our SV rooms.

As I waited for our guests to gather for our grand gathering, the check in area seemed too hustle and bustle for me. I thought we just wouldn't/couldn't have a great time, but I was wrong. The halls were quiet, the lobby never again seemed too busy for me. We own most of our points at BWV and I'm glad.

Just to comment.....
We stayed in a "PV" studio last year that overlooked the valet parking lot & service area driveway primarily. I was a little upset that this view was considered preferred. And some people on these boards suggested I call DVC/BWV and check into it. I later found out that rooms further down the hall from our room (literally 5-6 rooms down) were considered SV. Both DVC and BWV confirmed that my view was indeed "preferred". So I still don't quite get this ? This was the 4th floor.

We had a SV 2br (on the 4th floor?) It was one level up from the lobby level

And I had a SV studio on the 3rd floor (I believe)--on the lobby level..

Both rooms were great. I decided I like SV a lot!
