No they are different. They are both two-pin plugs, but European have round pins while the US has flat pins.

If you are worried about lugging a camcorder about, consider buying one of this year's digital cameras with a video facility.

The one my friend purchased could manage over 200 pictures plus up to 40 minutes video (albeit not quite DV quality). We were lucky that we took my laptop for emptying the smartmedia cards every night but we got good parade footage, and my favourite of all, some really good on ride video of Hulk, Duelling Dragons, Kraken, Kumba and Montu amongst others.

When we got back we mixed and matched these video clips with our best stills and attached respective park MP3's in all the right places. Simply then put it onto a video cd which now plays through our DVD player.

I'm not a mega whizz with the computer but managed the above self taught (Windows Movie Maker) over a couple of midweek evenings and much searching the net for MP3's!!!!

I have myself lugged a video camera about on my previous trip and was determined not to do so again. First time is bearable and becomes quite a special tape in our collection.

If I remember right from a visit 4 years ago, one day I had a flat camcorder battery whilst at Epcot.

I went to the camera shop under Spaceship Earth and they were able to recharge it for me free of charge! Only did common battery types due to limitation of them having loads of different chargers, but I was okay with my Sony "Handycam".

Worth knowing/checking out if your battery runs out before Illuminations?
