Cam & Howard's Vow Renewal PJ -1/12/09 - WP&WH--p.98: TRIP REPORT BEGINS

I had my first (really extreme, I might add) VR nightmare last night

I told Howard about it this morning and when I got to the part about doing it all over again in another 5 years he said something along the lines of "That's fine by me." What a sweetie!

Cam,

You know I've had those nightmares also, so don't fret, it was only a dream!! Everything is going to be beautiful and amazing. Also, Howard, my goodness, he is such a wonderful guy!!!

Here is the prototype of the dessert party invitation (though I'm kind of sad and guilty that the surprise is ruined for any of our guests who visit my PJ). Then again, by the time Disney sets the January schedule and we can mail these, maybe all our friends will forget what they look like. LOL!

Cam those candy flowers are great and I agree with Vanessa they match perfectly to your theme of Wishes. Those invites are so cute and I totally love the idea of you running with your Minnie veil ears.

It reminds me of that, too. But did you notice Minnie is wearing a veil? :lovestruc How stinkin' cute is that? Which reminds me, if I'm going to run the 1/2 in my Minnie ears & veil, I'll have to train in them this fall. :lmao: Just kidding!

So, the big news now is that all of our ADRs are made. :woohoo: Once the park schedules were released earlier this week, we were able to figure out whether the ADRs we'd already made were still logical. So, last night, we sat down and figured everything out. This is what it looks like as of now:
Tuesday -- enjoy being guests at the GF all day and head to DHS for dinner with some friends at Hollywood Brown Derby. The park closes at 7pm so a 6:30 ADR means we'll exit through a nearly deserted DHS. :thumbsup2

Wednesday -- check out of GF and check in at Wilderness Lodge Villas. Lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe and just generally enjoy the resort

Thursday -- Dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table

Friday-- 11:30 lunch at Tusker House (we are FINALLY going to really explore the AK) and then when AK closes, we'll head over to EPCOT for late Magic Hours and a late dinner at Coral Reef.

Saturday -- brunch with Lilo & Stitch at OHana's and dinner at California Grill (still have to book this dinner)

Sunday -- after we check out, we'll spend pre-airport time at DTD, so I suggested Wolfgang Puck's Cafe, which I have tried with a friend and LOVED. I think Howard will really enjoy it too.

Other news -- Next weekend, my friend Marie will come again to work on VR stuff and I am hoping to finalize the VR invitation. Hopefully, by then, I will have finished the DP invitations, too.

Oh, and Howard and I chose the menu for the pre-reception. Since we are doing a full meal for the reception, we thought it might be nice to stick to lighter/brunch-like selections for the pre-reception. We chose
warm muffin assortment
warm strawberry turnovers
fresh & tropical fruit display
tropical orange-mango juice
apple juice

What do you think of those choices?

Sounds good to me, yummy

It's only a dream, only a dream. Everything is going to be wonderful and I can't wait to see how everything comes to together perfect for your day.

Cam--that dream reminds me of the pre-marathon jitter dreams. I had one where I ran around and around looking for my running shoes--and once I found my shoes I realized I was naked!:scared1: But just like yours, it was only a dream! And can I just say again, how sweet is Howard!

Okay, Stephanie, sorry, honey, but that had me :lmao:
Can you imagine what I will be like the last couple weeks before the VR? What was I thinking, planning to RUN my first 1/2 marathon 2 days before my VR?!?!?!?! :scared1: I am sure I will be having multiple marathon AND VR nightmares. :scared: Promise you'll talk me down from the ledge?

If you have already had the first nightmare, Cam, I hope that you won't have a bunch more!! You may want to do it again in five more years though anyway :goodvibes

Guess what we got today?
Our BEO!!! :woohoo: :faint:
It doesn't include floral, but is otherwise very comprehensive. We have soooo many decisions to discuss, but it is so exciting to see all of this in writing. It feels so real now!

Actually, Patty, I am beginning to get worried about how fast time is going! :scared: I really want to finalize our newsletter tomorrow and try to get it mailed this week. Next weekend will be the invitations for the vow renewal itself, and finishing up the dessert party invitations. YAY!

And, thank you so much for running with me. I am afraid half-marathon training may get back-burnered if I dont' get a lot of wedding stuff taken care of early. I will definitely need the time to train (and for dance lessons), so I have to keep the VR stuff moving forward. I love every minute of it, though!

Cam,

If you need any help, I am as close as the phone. Just give me a call and I'll be more than happy to run over and give you a hand. Everything will fall into place. You are super organized and know what you want to accomplish. It is going to be fabulous.

HI CAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate wedding dreams...that is when you know you are getting closer lol!!!

Lynne - Please do NOT remind me how close this is getting! ;) :scared1:

Need advice on 2 things:
1. Newsletters are done -- 1 sheet, double-sided with pix on both sides. Because of the pix, regular paper won't work (the text and pix show through), so I tried it on cardstock and it looks much better and can be folded as long as the crease gets flattened. Do you think the cardstock is stupid for a "newsletter"?

2. Our BEO calls for black table linens for our dessert party. Would the pink napkin that I want under the centerpiece look terrible on black and does that create a whole different feel that we might not like? Which should we do:
a. stick with black linens and no pink cloth napkin under centerpiece? or
b. use white table linen and pink cloth napkin? or
c. black table linen with pink cloth napkin?

Looking forward to your advice!

Cam,

First, cardstock is fine for your newsletter, but you might be able to find a thicker paper (that's not that thick) to use.

Also, pink at black is a wonderful combination!!! That's what Dale & Stephy's wedding colors were!

Can't wait for tonight!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Cam, I think the black will make the pink show and the colors of the lollipops more vibrant(like the night sky).... good luck making your choice:goodvibes

Cam--Love pink and black together--that's what dsil's wedding colors were

Thanks, everyone! I found 67 lb cover stock which is less heavy than the cardstock, though they only had it in cream unless I wanted to buy 250 sheets. No, thank you! ;)
So, while I cruise the DIS, I am printing our first newsletter. :woohoo: This makes me so happy! :cloud9:

Still very undecided on the pink vs. black vs. white linen issue. I may have to do a mockup this weekend to see how it looks. My friends Kathy and Marie will be visiting and we'll work on VR stuff and I'll get their opinions too. I'll try to post pix here for your feedback. :grouphug:

i agree with other posters - pink & black looks great together :)

Thanks, Tracey!

Yesterday, I found a really sweet garter. What do you think?

The newsletters are all printed and I bought 1 cent stamps to use with my Disney stamps so that I can mail the newsletters tomorrow.

This weekend, while my friends are visiting, we'll do a mockup of the VR invitation, print and put the ties through the dessert party invitations, do the logo heart & square mount for the outside of the welcome bags, and, hopefully, get the door hangers designed. :woohoo: It sounds like a lot, but is only the tip of the to-do list iceberg! :scared1:

Your so clever and crafty even though you don't believe it.

:thumbsup2

I need to catch up on reading the DIS summer classes ended today one more semester left. woohoo:banana: :dance3:

that is very pretty ... umm i think it is also something i forgot to put on my list.. lol hmmm now one more thing ot start researching..

Again i love that one it is very beautiful

Cam,

Still trying to get all caught up but I'm getting there. Everything looks absolutely amazing. You have put such love and thought into every little details - how special.

Your STD's are just the freakin cutest! They are perfect for you. (I just love that we think it's a great thing when the STD's go and how cute or pretty they are :lmao: ).

Love the idea of the pink and black - I think I am kind of leaning toward this combo myself.

Cannot wait to see the VR invites. Good luck with all your crafting this weekend :flower3:
