I didn't realize we had a big photography store so close. I am considering getting the Tamron 28-75 2.8 for a cheer comp. on Sunday and they have the best price. Anyone buy from them before?

Calumet, Cambridge is a great was to spend a Saturday!

It's a great place to compare lenses that your local camera store may not have in stock.

Be sure to get on their mailing list for calumetfocus which list classes that are usually free to $35.00 for 2 hours.

For large purchases, I'd still suggest B&H to avoid the Mass. sales tax.

not the largest camera store but have you gone to Cameraland down on main street in Nashua? they seem to have canon/nikon stuff in stock if thats your camera of choice. there is also Hunt's camera also down in boston as well as up in manchester here is there site http://www.huntsphotoandvideo.com/

I have purchased from them, online and the Orange County(CA) store. I did buy that exact lens from the San Francisco store during a trip up there.

I would call ahead to make sure they have the lens or order it for you, they do not seem to keep a very large inventory.

I have noticed a few of the sales reps in the OC store try to upsell a lot, so beware for the "this is a third party lens, and we get lots of returns on it" line... They just might try to upsell you to the Canon equivalent. That might just be this store, just dont believe every word that comes out of a sales rep.

I live about 5 miles from Cameraland, so I have been in there a few times. They are mostly a Nikon shop and don't seem to have much Canon equipment in stock. The store recently moved a couple blocks south on the same street (Main) and I haven't been in the new store.
