Calling vs. wait list

I've read a few threads recently were members state they've been looking for DVC rooms and they keep calling MS every few days to check on availability ...even with a wait list ...

Is this common?
Do you have success getting a reservation calling every few days?
Do you have a wait list in place and also call every few days?

I don't understand how anyone gets a reservation when they were origianlly advised no rooms available and then they score a room when calling every few days ... what's happening to the wait list??

We have 12 nights booked in December between BWV and BLT ...We have Lake view at BLT and we're on a waiting list for MK view ...Should we be calling??

Does MS track how many times a member calls for a sold out date when they also have a wait list in place?

I've been calling pretty much every day to get my full stay at BLT - since there are 6 room possibilities for a 2br (3 views x lockoff + dedicated) and I can only waitlist 2 of those. I've often been encouraged by MS agents to keep calling back to check for openings.

We have also been calling everyday. Sometimes I think you may have better luck that way.
