Calling the Geek Squad!

I'm considering purchasing an LCD monitor for DH for Christmas. My question is - are all monitors compatible with all PC's? Or do I have to buy the same brand as the PC? Any other considerations?

I have an optiquest monitor with my sony computer. So I would guess the answer is no--they do not have to be the same brand.

The only compatibility concerns I know of is a Mac vs. IBM compatible stuff when buying software and accessories and stuff. Not sure if that is a consideration for monitors though.

No they don't have to be the same brand.

Most monitors come with both cables (analog and digital)

Just have to check which one your video card is and make sure the monitor supports it.
