Out of 65,000+ people on this board, I can't be the only person that can't wait for football season to start.

So let's talk football!!

Let's start off by picking your favorite team and discussing how well, or poor, you think they did in the draft this year.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

OMG, it has been nothing but wall to wall draft at my house this weekend!!!!!!

I like football but my passion is baseball (go Cubbies!) and DH LOVES the Cowboys. We have the draft on Tivo so it can be dissected minute by minute! :faint:

I think the Bears did alright, it will be interesting to see what Lovie Smith can do with them and I think they made some good aquisitions in free agency. I think it all boils down to Rex Grossman and the O-line and how much protection they can give him.

DH thinks the Cowboys were fairly predictable, drafting for need rather than the best available player. He is very excited about Kerry Collins being ticked off and hopes the Cowboys will be aggressive in signing him seeing as they have a good amount of cap room left.

I think it will be interesting to see what shakes out in the mini-camps next month.

Who is your team?

I think Houston did pretty good. We got two first rounders who will be starters this season. We really bolstered our defense, which was depleted by injuries last season.

Ok. I'll take a deep breath, and start. I'm a Philly girl (live in OR now, but lived in Philly 'burbs all my life). Therefore, I'm an Eagles fan - of the die hard crazy screaming at the TV drinking too much beer kind. I am a little upset, as MY *(*^%%**((()_##^ team has ALMOST made it to the Super Bowl - let's see - THREE TIMES IN A ROW, AND BEEN BEATEN TO A BLOODY PULP!!! It's sad, really. I wait, and I wait, and I wait. We lost our first 2 games last year in a brand new stadium. I, however, believed in my team, and still do. May they finally get there!!!!

Oh and Dallas bites the you know what! :p

OOOOOOOH OOOOOOOOH ME ME ME!!!

altho I'm more of a college fan, u might have guessed from my locaton that i'm an OU almni. Here in oklahoma football is like a religion and memorial stadium is a like a church. ( i said LIKE, which means close but God is still number one at my house) but then football lol jk ok ok family but then football!

I was nervous for my guys in the draft this weekend, looks like for the most part they did ok. It will be fun to watch them as pro's.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Tommie Harris, Teddy Lehman and Derrick Strait were selected in the first three rounds of the 2004 NFL Draft over the weekend.

The Chicago Bears took Harris with the 14th overall pick marking the third consecutive year Oklahoma has supplied a first-rounder. Andre Woolfolk was selected by Tennessee in the first round last year with Roy Williams going to Dallas in 2002.

Teddy Lehman will head north to Detroit while Derrick Strait will go to the New York Jets.

It's Football time in Tennnesse.

Go Vols

Go Titans

I'm waiting for COLLEGE football to start. And who else would be my team but the Wolverines?? Go Blue!

I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to football season or not. I live in San Diego and I graduated from UCLA. It will most likely be very painful.

My dad's a big Wolverine fan too. :D He's hoping they make a bowl game in Florida so we can go to WDW or the Rose Bowl so we can go to Disneyland!

J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!!!!

I'm really psyched about the Jets draft. We really need linebackers since we cut Jones and Lewis loose and our secondary was really weak. We seemed to pick up a bunch of promising Defensive players.

I'm concerned about Chrebet ("my baby") and the head injury he sstained last season. If he doesn't come back, the receivers strategy is going to need some tweaking.

Only another 5 weeks until mini-camp!!!

not the only one--check out my countdown at the bottom. I LOVE NFL!!!! I'm a Falcons fan--who is HOPING Mike Vick actually makes it through pre-season this year. I live in Carolina Panthers country--so I pull for them too. But....

I LOVE BRETT FAVRE. Those pictures someone posted just above, are awesome. I want him to have a banner year--win the superbowl, and then retire before he gets bad--or beat!!

Haven't checked out the draft for my teams yet, will have to do so.

Adrianna--Just noticed your Javy picture too!! Brett and Javy on the same post--that may be more than I can take!!! Good choices!!!

I love football too, just not as much as my husband. I was the "stats girl" in High School, so was at every game on the sidelines. Then I was a Student Athletic Trainer in college, so once again on the sidelines for every game. It is much better watching the games from the sidelines!! LOL

We are pretty much Bear fans here, as well as Illini fans for college. My oldest son likes the Packers, you can only imagion how well that goes over with my husband.

I think the Bears did OK with the draft, only time will tell as I recall all too well Cade McNown and the other guy whoes name escape mes, but was a big problem child. I am hoping that they can pick up Jarret Payton, if just for the sentimentality of it.

Well, atleast one person in your family likes the good team! ;)

I'm a college football fan, but could care less about NFL...sorry! I can't wait to go to Alabama's first game. Roll Tide!

O, I LOVE football. I'm from a football family and a football town in western PA. Go STEELERS!!! I tell you, I bleed black and gold.
Awesome pick, Big Ben- I do feel sorry for Tommy Maddox though.

I assume you mean my son? LOL The funny thing is how he became a Packers fan. When he was three we went to Appleton WI for a job interview for DH. Kevin's favorite color at the time was GREEN and he fell in love with all the GREEN clothes he saw all over the place. He used to call them the Green Bay Crackers too! Now he still likes them, but mainly to give his dad a hard time. My five year old on the other hand, likes both and his older brother is really trying to turn him "against" his parents.

I'm really psyched about the Jets draft

notes on Strait

I watched (most in person) every game Derrick Strait ever played in college and I can tell you he's one of my all time fave Sooners to come out of our Program and that's saying a lot since we've had some Great Great players. He has a great personal story of a guy who's over come a lot of adversity (he actually got his digree, promised his mama) Just a Wonderful athlete and human being. Ya'll got a diamond in the ruff, He dominated the college field from day one starting as a freshman. Give him time to put on 10 or so pounds of muscle get used to the speed of the game and he will make a name for himself very soon. Good luck with your season next year, I'll prolly be keeping an eye out on the Jets, just to see if he gets any playing time. :)

Big Blue!!!!!! (NYG)

We did great. Although I think Eli Manning is a punk, I'm glad to see that Collins is going out the door.
