Calling October People. Question about Free Dining.

Did they extend free dining last year into October? Just wondering if it may possibly hopefully fingers crossed get extended past 9/30 this year.

Only if you check in on 9/30 can you get the dining for your stay into October.

Basically as long as you check in on any of the days of the promo you will get the free dining for your stay.

Thank you cobbler. I really wish I could change my dates to come in in late Sept because a) i would get free dinning and b) my countdown to DW would decrease, but due to school vacations I have to go later. I guess my question is, is there anyone out there who got free dinning last year with an October check in date. I know that won't mean it will be the same this year but it would give me a little hope

Last year we took advantage of the free dining and checked in on October 4th...the last day that it was offered.

The Free Dining promo ran through Oct 4th last year. We checked in on Oct 1st, and checked out on the 8th, and had the free dining the whole trip. It seems that this year, they have the offer ending on 9/30- I am extremely doubtful they will extend it or make any exceptions for anyone (the only possible way I could see it happening is if there is a major hurricane in Orlando some time during the promo period that causes lots of people to have to change their dates).

We don't have a trip planned this year, but it is soo tempting to book a weekend trip just because of the Free dining!!

I remember reading some speculation this morning that indicated that they wouldn't extend it because they don't want eligibility running into F&W.

We got the free dining last year, checking in on the 2nd of October. We aren't going until the last of October this year, and I'm also hoping they'll extend it. It was extended last year to the final check in date of the 4th..so who knows what could happen. I htink alot of people never thought they;d even do the free dining again this year....so, let's cross our fingers together and see what good vibes sent to Disney can do

We had planned for end of October, but were going to change to 1st of October for the free dining until I called today. We were going to check in on the 30th and stay all week, but CM said that the dining definitely ends the 30th and your travel has to be complete by that date. She said that the free dining would not be valid for the remainder of our trip...bummer...we're back to end of October at the price of $600 more money...

That stinks but I wouldn't take one CM's word for it. Try again or ask a travel agent what the official release wording was. You never know, you may have gotten a CM who just didn't know the rules (yes I am a firm believer that disers often know more than some cm's). If you are flexible in your dates it would just be too bad if you couldn't get the deal and save the bucks.
