I'm not an expert on Lynx, but as well as the time it takes to go WDW to Universal by Lynx (+ 1 change of Lynx bus), you also have to factor in the time to get from your WDW hotel to the Lynx bus stop. If you have to pick up Lynx at the TTC you will need to take a WDW bus to Magic Kingdom, then come back to TTC by monorail or ferry - all of which takes time.

Your WDW vacation will have cost you a lot of $$$$. Your time is probably worth more than the saving by using Lynx. There is also a Mears shuttle bus between WDW hotels and Universal. Costs more than Lynx, but less than a taxi.

Short answer... Lynx is a good option for Sea World, not for Universal, unless you are just a geek for public transportation.

For most people, I think a one-day car rental makes for the best way to get to Universal from Disney. And to drift away from transportation for a second - if there's any way to swing it, the absolutely best option is to actually stay overnight at one of the Universal resorts. The FOTL privilege is amazing.

There is a lynx stop at the TTC to the right of the monorail boarding area, DTD and few others around Disney. I think you will need to transfer routes to get to USF. Here is the schedules and routes. http://www.golynx.com/?fuse=cstm&app=route

We have used the Mears shuttles They will pick you up at your resort but they charge per person. ($15-$20 per person) If there is more than 4 of you it might be cheaper to rent a car. Last year we rented a mid-size $125.00 for a week from Alamo at the Car Care Center
Here is the link to Mears Shuttles http://www.mearstransportation.com/AttractionTrans.htm

The Lynx bus is a terrific option to SeaWorld, but not to US/IoA. There is a transfer involved and it takes much longer to get there vs a car/cab.
Mears does offer a shuttle ride of about $20 pp, r/t. That might be a good idea. Towncar services will run about $60-70 r/t for up to four.
If you rent a car, don't forget you will have to pay for parking as well.

another option is take lynx to seaworld and from there catch the I-ride Trolley which gets very close to universal ( at least it used too)
