We are waitlisted for two 2 bedrooms in October - 1 we only need one night and the other we need two nights.

Will they consider the waitlist as one request and only give it to us if all nights become available?

Do you keep calling & checking if you are waitlisted? Do you think this "helps" the waitlist come through. And if so, is there a best time to call during the day/week?

Thanks.

I've been on the waitlist and did not call. I got what I was waitlisted for within a couple of weeks. The new confirmation just showed up one day.

I called on occasion but felt guilty and always had another reason for my call (requests or points available etc).

But when it got down to the last couple of weeks and one night didn't come through, I certainly called. A week before our trip, I got a very nice MS girl who took the time to call BWV directly and they got me that last night!!

good luck!

I don't think it hurts to call every once in a while. There is a big difference between being a pest and calling every once in a while just to ask how things look. Another reason is that sometimes if you are on the automatic wait list, you may not get a call. This happened to me for New Year's eve a year ago. They never called to tell me that it came through and I didn't find out that it did until I called.

Waitlisted for a GV @ OKW in September this past Monday; called on Wednesday, was put on hold, MS came back and said I was set for the six days that want

How is that for service!!!!!

...I hated to be a pest, but decided that I wanted to check in on progress. I had a Studio at BCV for 6 nights, 11/27-12/2, and was on the waitlist for VWL for that whole time period. Well, I called today, and after being put on hold for a few minutes, she came back and said just the first 3 nights were available. I took it, figuring we'll either move for the last 3 nights or, more likely, our chances would increase by waitlisting for only 3 consecutive nights instead of 6.

So...to answer your question, they don't call when only part of your waitlist request comes through. If you don't mind perhaps having to split your stay, you may be able to increase your chances by calling to see if only one of those 2 nights is available, then waitlisting for just the 1 night...

Hope I've helped!

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will call.

For those of you that did call and get what you had been looking for, did you call right when MS opened in the morning, or do you think it makes no difference what time you call.

I was glad to see this post. We are waitlisted for one night in the middle of a seven night stay at BCV this Oct. and i'm panicked over it. I've been waiting, although not patiently, i think i might call, politely.

I think if you call in the last couple of weeks (if you still didn't get it) and nicely ask if there is any they can do, hopefully you'll get a very nice MS agent who'll call the resort directly and 'try' to open something up for you. No guarantees but hopefully, they'll come through.

There's still hope!:teeth:

Just an update...I called today and was still not able to get my waitlist.

But MS did tell me a couple of things. 1st she said that if you are waitlisted for more than one night, there are different ways the waitlist can be requested in the system. You can either put a request in for all the nights or one night at a time. So unless you request one night at a time, you won't get anything unless all your nights become available.

I suppose how you decide you want to do this depends on how many nights you need and if you want to move from one room to another. If you are waitlisted for a week, and request one night at a time, you could end up with 2 days in the middle of the week.

She also said that when cancellations come in, the computer looks to see if there is a waitlist request and matches it with the 1st person on the list. Then there is another group of people that looks at these waitlist reports and matches, and contacts the DVC member to let them know their waitlist is available. She said she has no way of knowing how many people are waitlisted for a particular day/resort.

So I'll hope for some pixie dust and continue to wait...

I was on, and did get, my waitlist request, and I never called.

You can request the full block of dates/rooms and you will get a call when the entire option is available.

Or you can request individual days and get calls as each day becomes available. I did the individual days and they all came through, though not at the same time.

You can make a second cash reservation for the same days that you wait list and cancel each cash day as a wait list day comes through.

Just make sure the CM has your correct phone number when you make your wait list request. If they call, you will have a day to return the call and secure the reservation before it is passed on.

Best of luck!
