Calling Halloween Cruisers!

We may be interested in the trick or treating. Don't have my stateroom number yet, just GTY. Can you give me some details on what you have planned for it?

What time are you planning on the trick or treating? Anyone know what activities Disney will have on Halloween?

Also, since Halloween is on a Thursday night, isn't that normally Formal Night? Will they change formal night? I'm trying to find out as much information as possible before the cruise, and I'm really excited now!

Sue Ellen

I checked out the Key Lime Pie site. Other than some lovely pictures of pies, nothing really different. They do have a small explanation of what makes the Key Lime different. The web site is: www.blondegiraffe.com. They actually charge for mailing a pie, 69.00. I stll have a question as to how much a walk up and buy a piece would be.
I went back to our original list of the families and came up with approximately 20 or a few more children. If there are more interested please let Debbie know. You can of course also just post the information on here.
Back to work. Estelle

I just got back from Hallmark where they are putting out the Halloween cards, decorations, etc. They have a curled ribbon bunch that is LIME GREEN , BLACK and ORANGE. I got one and will put it in my cruise bag. I am thinking that it will go in my hair or on my shirt for Embarkation day and may be part of a costume on Halloween. Perhaps it will decorate the FISH by our door the rest of the week.

Cool Jan!

Talked to a CM today who listed all the Halloween special activites. Halloween party for kids and teens, larger Halloween deck party, contest for costumes with lots of categories, CMs handing out candy, characters and crew in costumes, etc.

He also said that because Semi-Formal night falls on Halloween that they would probably think of changing it to another night for pictures and such, or just moving that part of it to an earlier time in the evening.

Just what Mason at DCL told me...

WELCOME Tinkerbellpixie and SueEllen

It's been a few days since I last was on. What a busy thread:) I hardly have any time to sit and surf of the computer with being back a work and the kids back in school. What an adjustment:(

I am getting more and more excited:Pinkbounc

I don't know if I posted this before, but we now have more of my DH family coming on the cruise with us. There will be 11 of us all together. The first time we cruised, we went will all of my family and there was 11 too. It was a blast. Anyway, my DH and I met with his family on Saturday and I came up with a whole itinerary that I have typed up for us, my DH just laughed at me and told me I missed my calling. He thinks I should be a travel agent or party coordinator. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We faxed in our excursions. We will be doing Xcarat and Stingray City.

I am still waiting for my shirts from Ray, does anyone remember how long it took to get them?

Dena:earsgirl:

ONLY 60 MORE DAYS!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

DENA: How long it takes Ray to do the shirts depends on how much work he has at the time. I hit him on a slow period so it was a bit over a week. You could send him an e-mail from this thread--can you find one of his posts?? And ask him how it's coming along. Did you order them on-line? If so, I think there is supposed to be a followup site but by the time I thought to check our page it was after the shirts arrived so it was gone.

We will look forward to meeting your extra family members! In your family of 11 are there any other kids who will be doing the T or T-ing?

KAREN: Thanks for the info from DCL. Did Mason happen to mention whether the dinner seating would stay at the earlier times or switch back to the original times for our cruise? Barb from PLATINUM CASTAWAY CLUB seems to think these new times will go at least into the middle of September.

SUE ELLEN: Ginger seems to be the one with the T or T-ing agenda. I figured we "Treaters" will find out the time and plan to be at our stateroom then. Seems there was talk of 11 or 11:30 and then anyone who wants will gather at one restaurant for lunch so that the kids get some protein before they hit the sugar they collected. Some of us are giving toy-items instead of or in addition to some candy so hopefully the sugar load will not be too high. Just because we don't have kiddos in our staterooms, does not mean we have forgotten what it is like to live with kids on a sugar-high and we don't want to add to that for you young parents.

Jan :earsgirl:

Hey All! I am not really sure on the T-or-T'ing time. I have sent Lynne,"NJFamily" a PM on that matter since she has been so kind to make up something special for us. We'll have to wait to hear from her. To make her job and Debby's job a little easier I am going to post who has already expressed interest in participating along with your stateroom numbers. If you would like to be added or deleted please post or send me a PM, also needed is the child's first name and age.

Don't be left out let your kids join. Our T-or-T will be alot more fun than what is offered on board. Trust me .;) Been There:bounce: Done it:Pinkbounc

Welcome NYCDisneyFan!!! It's good to see a fellow New Yorker join our group. We're over in the Western New York area.

Jan - I'll have to check out the Hallmark store. The Halloween ribbon w/Lime green sounds like a great addition to our must have for the cruise. I like the idea of wearing it on embarkation day and then decorating our fish on the stateroom door. I was at the mall today too and didn't stop by Hallmark. Of course I made a stop at the Disney Store.

We got the excursions we wanted. I had my DH start calling at 9 this morning. He said he was on hold for about 7 minutes listening to Disney music. We got the Shipwreck Snorkling @ G.C. (afternoon time) and the Jeep Safari @ Cozumel. No excursions planned for K.W or C.C. Just mellowing out there. Patty :earsgirl:

We FAXed our excursion request this morning. Got confirmation a bit later by FAX. Catamaran Sail and Snorkel in Key West and Shipwreck and Reef snorkel in Grand Cayman in the morning. We may do the Chankanaab Nat Park in Cozumel on our own, not sure.

NYCDISNEYFAN: We have a cruise list of everyone who has posted on this thread. Leave a request here for a copy and/or send info to MASONPIPS re: names, ages, # of kids, room #, where you are from, dinner seating, participating in T or T-ing, staying at the Radisson on the 25th, e-mail address and any special events, excursions or whatever that you might want to share.
Checking the list is helping me keep track of who everyone is.
We lived in Kings Park for two years and I attended school at SUNY--Downstate Medical Center. Anywhere near where you live?

OPPS! Almost forgot lunch to follow. We'll have to vote on this matter. Lumiere's or Parrot Cay for the Seafood Buffet which is normally served on Thursdays. Going by a past Navigator.

Sounds like Halloween is coming together. As to lunch either one of the above mentioned places sounds good. I personally would go for the seafood buffet. But will go with the vote.
Jan-- the avatar looks fine. Since I know what you look like I'd know it was you anywhere. Elzas' mailed gifts arrived from Key West. Guess where they came from The Blue Cat. We got a lovely print of a Batik picture. She wants her gift to come from there. She has already indicated what she wants. So I guess hers will be from here. She says they have things other than cats and judging by what she brought home they certainly do.
At last we have had rain. And it is actually cool and not so very hot. We got all our excursions except the one in Key West. So we are taking the trolley/museum tour. I'm off to work on the needlework I'm doing for a friend for Christmas. Got a long way to go. Estelle

GREAT NEWS: I read a thread yesterday about a discount for FL residents on selected fall cruise dates. So today after work I called DCL and asked about it, the women looked into it and it turns out there is a FL resident discount the week we are sailing and I am getting a credit back of $750.00. How cool is that!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Now I can do some spa treatments that I was wanting to do.:teeth:

JAN: I am originally from Long Island NY. I lived further out on the Island from Kings Park. We have been in FL for 7 years and I would NEVER go back up north.

Dena:earsgirl:

Dena - For our family who live in FLorida, where is the thread you are talking about? Would love more info about the res discount in case they want to come also.

After T or T-ing we may do lunch for two :)--so don't wait on our vote for that event.

I would love to live in Florida :). We could get the cruise discount too. No, we couldn't unless there was a discount for the number of DVC points used. Oh well.

DENA: I grew up near Utica, NY. Tom and I met at college in Troy, NY. We lived in Kings Park for two years, back upstate near where the Vermont and Massachusetts line meets NY for 14 years, closer to Troy for 9 months and then 7 1/2 years in Bethlehem, PA and now almost 8 years in Indiana. But, I would love to live in Florida :). The older I get the harder the winters are on me. :(

What town did you live in on the Island? Did you grow up there? My college freshman roommate lives on South Shore but closer to the city.

ESTELLE: You will enjoy checking out the BLUE CAT. What is the needlework you are making?

How is everyone else? We have not heard from several of you in a while. Hoping all is well! :) :) :)

Jan :earsgirl:

Okay, sign us up for Trick or Treating. DS-13mos, DD 11yrs.

I don't have a cabin assignment yet--

Sue Ellen

Howdy! We lived in Florida for five years. (7 years ago) We loved it. We loved it even more after we moved north!

But it did have its drawbacks. We lived in Boca Raton and I worked in Weston. One thing about that area was that even though everything was always beautiful because everything was always manicured to perfection....you didn't notice time pass by. It always seemed exactly the same. No seasons. It could make you have a a little So. Florida cabin fever. You would have to leave and go somewhere that you could tell it was Christmas. (WHich is why we went to Disneyworld for Christmas every single year we lived there!)

Now of course, we live 24 hours away in the frozen tundra of the north and we remember our Utopian life in Florida where we had no complaints about anything and we went to DIsney three times a month! Ahhhhh those were the days. :)

Hey Jan, can we join your lunch for two? I think DH would like that. I put in my order to the Disney catalogue for the part of the costume I have planned, that absolutely must come from Disney. Now all I have to do is get the rest of the costume made. I have been making needlepoint glasses cases/cell phone cases from kits for some time. I found a three piece set of a coin purse, glasses case, and manicure case and that is the thing I am working on right now. They are neat because they are all together. You just do the needlepoint part and zip the zipper and they are done.
I bought the Hobbit today and will start it tonight. Looking forward to it.
No rain today, darn, just grey and cloudy. May rain on Sunday. Our yards have greened up a bit. Still have large patches of brown. I heard today that the area we live in needs a total of 15.5 inches of rain to aleviate the drought. We will probably have the drought taken care of by having lots and lots of snow.
Can't wait. Estelle

Karen - I lived in Plantation Florida from 1970-1973. I know what you mean about the change in seasons. We used to pray for snow. Now that I live just outside of Buffalo, NY I dread it. I love going to Florida in late Autumn, early Winter. Unfortunately when I lived in Florida my family never made it to WDW. I've sure made up for it since we moved back north. I think I've been to WDW about 8 times.

I ordered a gift basket from Shirley to be sent to our stateroom. It has a Key West theme and it'll have an anniversary balloon attached. Won't my husband be surprised!!! I also ordered a pearl necklace for myself . (Hee Hee) Patty :teeth:
