Debby, I'll be wearing my green ribbon so if you see me at West Oaks mall....just come over and say HI! (Are you moving somewhere???)

Wow, I work about 8 minutes from that mall! We are moving to OK. I had a phone interview today and I have a face-to-face tomorrow - neither one with any real notice - it was a very hectic day!

It is VERY hot here now (as usual) - be prepared!

For people who are also accustomed to changing the clocks in the spring & fall for Daylight savings time, won't that happen during our cruise?

Debby, my parents live at Hwy 6 and Bellaire. We will be there for two weeks if you want to make plans to meet at the Krispy Kreme on Westheimer one morning, just let me know...I plan to be there every morning!

What part of OK? DH and I went to school in Tulsa. That is where we met.

Good luck with your interviews!

Ya'll are so good to be on top of the whole time-changing thing.

Wonder if they will extend the experimental dinner times to October...hope not.

What will everyone else be wearing for Halloween? (Or did ya'll already discuss this and I was busy with family and Alpenfest and Oshkosh....?)

Karen: No one has really said what they are dressing up as for Halloween. Just talking around the topic. I have some ideas but am not sure it will fall together yet and Tom has not even told me his plan.
I also wonder if the formal night will be moved.
Glad to hear you have been having such a fun and busy time.

Emma: sounds like you too have been busy and enjoying your activities.

With the time changing--do they change clocks that we can see and the time on the room TVs or make announcements so that we can change our watches? It seems that as long as we get to our excursions on time, we should be fine. No matter what time it is, if you are where you want to be, and ready for the activity, it would be OK. Our son Ted goes to college in the part of Indiana that does not change its clocks. He calls it "Indiana Ambivalent Time" They do not care what time anyone else is on, they are leaving their clocks alone. It is not an issue at all except if I have to be there at a specific time, I have to remember what time it is there when I plan my departure from home. Same for taking a plane from South Bend airport. But very do-able.

Suzanne: I am looking forward to that FINE weather!!

Maureen: I had not read about a mad rush at the Radisson for the shuttles. Do you think that it will be more civilized because we all KNOW each other and they were strangers? But of course, there MIGHT be some people there who are not WITH US. (How can that be!!) I wonder if the mad rush was at a certain time of the morning. What is the title of that thread?
RE: Captain Marvin's--how did you decide to take that excursion?

Debby: Keep us posted on the job situation and the move.

Estelle: I already replied on e-mail about the Oriental Trader order. Sounds fine. Thanks for taking charge of that.

Okay Jan send money when you think about it. Phil is making comments about packing and that I may need a small U Haul for all the things I'm planning on bringing. I am really not terribly worried.
So GoofyDisney you had Alpenfest. Starting this Saturday we have Musicfest. Close to 1 million people visit Bethlehem during this week. We have food, beer, and lots of music. If the heat continues the way its' been we won't be going. Our music tends to be more across the board. Altho we do have our Polka bands.
As soon as that is over we the family are heading to the wonderful state of New Hampshire for a week of we hope peace quiet and LOBSTER.
I'm not too worried about the change of time. I'm sure the crew will let us know when and for what hour we change the tiime.
I am hoping that they change the night for the formal as I plan to be wearing a costume. DH won't be wearing one so he doesn't care but I do.

While reading Newsweek this afternoon I discovered a group of items on pirate related points of interest. One is unfortunately on Key West in late November altho there is a museum about the Atocha and it treasures. The other one is the last week in October on Grand Cayman. I'm not sure whether we will be there while it is going on or not. It also mentions that there is good fishing and good golf. Just thought some of us might be interested. Estelle

I'm back reading the boards...until Thursday evening. Then we will have company for the next 6 days. I'm not sure I will ever catch up reading all the posts from the past three + weeks! WOW, you guys have been busy!

Anyway, I have big news to share.......WE MADE OUR FINAL PAYMENT FOR THE CRUISE TODAY! It will not be long now until we all get to meet.

Debby, thanks for the saving some leis for us! We will have to get them from you on the ship, as we plan to stay at a WDW resort until Saturday morning.

Well, off to get the kids to bed....hopefully I will have time to catch up on all the posts either later tonight or on Wednesday night.

Wow! I miss one day because I wasn't feeling too good last night and 2 pages were posted. I see we surpassed 500 postings too.

Karen - Maybe we'll see you on the Xcarat excursion. I still can't decide between that and Tulum but leaning more toward Xcarat at this time. There's so much to do there. If the temps are going to be so hot:mad: I may not want to be at Tulum. Do we make the excursion phone call on August 27?

Emma - Glad to hear you enjoyed Meatloaf. He is awesome. He's been around for a long time. I've got "2 Out of 3 Ain't Bad" on a 45 record.

Lynne - Congrats on making your final payment. I can't wait to make mine but holding off until a week before it's due. The time seems to be flying by.

Estelle - Here's 2 websites for the Festivals that are going on at Key West & Grand Cayman while we are there: www.fantasyfest.net

Something Pirate-y should be going on while we are in Grand Cayman.

I have been trying to find a site I read some months ago but with no luck. This one has some info:
http://www.destination.ky/gen/piratesweek.html

Thanks PATTY for your Pirate website.

If I find a better one, I will post it. Sounds like there might be a Pirate invasion on Saturday--after we are home or as we are leaving on the Cruise.

Awesome doesn't quite cut it! He's in his 50s but he still has so much energy, he didnt stop all night. The place was packed and everybody was clapping and cheering and on their feet, As soon as he came on the place went wild!

Guess what! I just booked our airfare for this trip, we got it for $66.50 per person r/t. I am so excited! Last year we paid $99 r/t and thought that we would never get anything lower.

Sorry I haven't been posting lately, I promise to do better!

What have I missed?

Dan

Dan and Scott - big thing! I found green leis - are you interested? 3 right? let me know

I received one of my gowns (lol, that seems SO odd to type) today from an ebay win - I *love* it and so does DD (3 going on 18 I think). Woo Hoo!!!!! It's a tiny bit tight in the bust (and I am NOT large chested) but I'm working on my exercise/diet and reached a milestone today so I'm thinking it'll be perfect in 2 months!

Dan - Which airlines did you get such a great price from? I hope it wasn't Vanguard. Ha Ha! I booked awhile ago and thought I got a good price but I should have waited. Prices have dropped considerably since I've booked. Our Delta flight from Orlando to Cincinnati is sold out. Patty:earsgirl:

Well you know I said the gymnastics were great, well I went to the last night of atheletics last night and that was in another league! I cheered, clapped and screamed as my team (ENGLAND!!!) took get this SIX gold medals in one night! I sang Land of hope and glory 7 times (we did one at the end for the sheer heck of it!) and we left the Aussies biting our dust! Ok so they have Ian Thorpe in the pool but he couldnt help them out there on the track last night. I saw 8 commonwealth games records smashed and one word record and the crowed were so amazing. Every1 was on their feet cheering and screaming, I have never been to anything like it in my life.

Hi halloween cruisers!
I am new to this forum but am glad to be a part of it. I too will be sailing on the magic for halloween week. This will be our 4th disney cruise, but our 1st on on the magic. The more I read on this forum, the more excited I get. It sounds like it will be a blast. Maybe I will even get to meet up with some of you.:Pinkbounc

We've got our air fare reserved! We will be arriving in Orlando at 2:30 the day before the cruise.

WELCOME MDVASQUEZ!!
Have you read our whole thread--all the nutty pages of it?
We are planning a pre-cruise meet for those staying at the Radisson the night before departure. From Sebastian, maybe you could drive up for the meet and dinner with some of us??
Debby found green leis so we can wear them for the departure party and other times to recognize each other--want any?
We plan a Halloween trick-or-treating for the children around the staterooms of those who want to participate--no obligation. Then we may do lunch together after that.
We have families with kids of different ages, couples without kids, friends, etc. in our group.

There is a list being made by a couple people so that we can all find each other--if you want to be included there, let us know.

Any other questions we can answer--give a shout.

EMMA: Glad you have had such good times at the concert and sporting events lately!! The teams are fortunate to have such avid fans.

CONGRATS on the great airfare arrangements Suzanne! and Dan and Scott! And Suzanne--on the great dress. Can't wait to see it!
