Glad you made it over here from your other thread. I sent you a PM, would love help with T or T.

Lynne

PS - I haven't posted here in while so I'm a little late saying this but....Welcome back Ray and Tony! Welcome Dan and Scott.

Hi Ginger
Maybe two pies is the best idea.
Tell Jan I sent her an email on Toms' address and if it isn't there she should know the phone number by now. Hope to see her tomorrow or Friday.
Hi Debbie and welcome to the thread.
Estelle

Just had a nice long email back from DCL International Desk :D
They've confirmed our early dining and Castaway club membership ( they won't ship castaway Club membership packs overseas !!)
Their response to my request on attire for the Semi Formal / Halloween night is below.
Onboard, featured events will include Family Trick-Or-Treating, as well as
themed parties for the children and for the teens. For adults, we offer a
Halloween Party with Costume Contest with prizes being awarded to the best of
the best. Guests of all ages are encouraged to bring their costumes! However,
dining attire will include semi-formal.
I'm starting to get excited now, just counting down to the 60 day mark so I can pre book our excursions ( if my lot could make up their minds!!) :D

Sorry I have not posted in a while! However I have a question about Daylight savings time.

Daylight savings time ends on Sunday the 27th, usually the ship then turns the clocks back between Cayman and Cozumel, and then turns them forward between Cozumel and Castaway.

So will we turn our clocks back 1 hour Saturday night, another hour back Tuesday night and then 1 hour forward Wednesday night? If this is true, we get to spend 1 extra hour on the ship, right?

OK I know how petty but an hour is an hour!

Dan

Welcome Masonpips!!

I've never had Key Lime Pie. Is it similar to Lemon meringue except made with lime? If so, I'm game!!

Dan, I like the way you think!! (about being on the ship an extra hour.)

Welcome Debby(Masonpips)!

All this talk about Key Lime pie got me looking up recipes. Here's the website of a place in Key West that sells the pies. http://www.keylimepiecompany.com/

Dan: This is my third Disney vacation taken during Daylight savings time. I love that extra one hour of Disney time!!!
:bounce:
Patty:earsgirl:

P.S. I just made priority seating ressies for lunch at the 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM Studios. I just realized we're less than 120 days! YIPPEE!!!

Patty thanks for the site. I just checked it out, I was ready to order till I saw the prices. WOW!!! $54.95 for 1 pie I know that said shipping included. They must be made out of gold. LOL

Sorry, Estella if they are that expensive we'll just have to settle for the Key Lime Pie aboard.
I've got an easy recipe that I got off a bottle of Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime Juice.

Nellie & Joe's Key Lime Pie:

1 9" graham cracker pie crust
1-14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
3 egg yolks (whites are not used)
1/2 cup Nellie & Joe's Key Lime Juice
combine condensed milk, egg yolks and lime juice. Blend until smooth. Pour filling into pie crust and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Allow to stand for 10 minutes before refrigerating. Just before serving top with fresh whipped cream and garnish with a lime slice.

Yes, Suzanne it very much like Lemon Meringue. Sometimes I will make a meringue topping for this pie using the left over egg white. Top the pie with the meringue then place it in the oven for the 10 minutes letting them just stiff pecks and slightly brown.

Hey, I got to meet Jan. Ashley and I went to Baltimore where Jan and her DH were staying while attending a convention. I am sorry we did not have much time to chat but it was still great to meet her. Now I have a face to go with the name.

An extra hour or not there still is not enough time on board to do all the great stuff offered. Maybe Disney will come out with a 10 day cruise once the new ship is finished. I'd like to see them do cruises out of Alaska.

Oh god lord! I only have 3 more rehersals before I sing in St Marks! Arghh!

I emailed with Captain Marvins today in regards to taking younger children on a snorkeling adventure. DCL has an age limit of 6+. My DS (will be 5) can swim and DD (3.5) is close. They would wear life jackets of course too and I wanted their opinion on bringing them.

Ruth's (from there) response:

Debby,
Thanks for your message. Yes, we welcome children on our trips---they've been coming along for over 50 years now! They especially like it if they are already comfortable in the water.

We have life vests for children ages 4 and up, so if your 3.5-year-old is pretty average size, one of our vests should fit her.

I look forward to hearing from you again!
Ruth for Capt. Marvin's

So I think I'll sign up for the 1/2 day (10 am - 1 pm) through them. It looks walkable from the ship. I think we'll try to do Key West and Cozumel without the kids if they like the Oceaneers Club, but they love the water and are young enough that they'll think the stingrays are big fish. Worst-case scenario, they can hang on the boat there and snorkel at one of the two other stops.

Any thoughts?

Yummy!!!! Sounds good to me. I'll have to wait though, trying to shed a few pounds before the cruise.

I love Key Lime Pie but wouldn't spend $54.99 for it unless there was a four course dinner attached. So pie on the ship sounds good. I wonder if I can get it for breakfast.
Spent yesterday with Jan and last evening with both of them. We had a good time and spent most of the time talking about Disney things.
My DH is not going to do anything about the cruise and things to do until after our annual week in New Hampshire/Maine. But I think he is weakening. He and Tom spent a while talking about the things that Tom enjoyed and that Phil probably will like too.
Pa. finally got rain and violent thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday. So at this point we are hazy and hot but the humidity is coming back. I am really looking forward to the end of summer and the beginning of the pack for cruise season.

Ennazus & Rose Greenthumb – Key Lime pie is also my favorite pie, I’m sure you’ll love it…if you don’t, then there will be more left for the rest of us. Estelle, I’m with you, I would order it for breakfast if they would let me …and if my kids were not watching.

MasonPipes – Pre children my DH and I went on an excursion to Stingray City with another Cruise line, and we loved it. We are still debating as to how our kids will react to the stingrays and if we should take Capt. Marvin's trip. Your info is appreciated; we may also book the ½ day trip with them.

Ginger – I believe you asked about Bingo players a few pages back. My self, DH and DMiL are also looking forward to playing some Bingo. We also have been playing the Hershey game you sent the link to. Each time we have also one a candy bar with peanuts in it. Lucky for me, I love nuts.

Ginger or Ray – Do you remember the average daytime and nighttime temps from last years cruise? Last year we bought DS a very nice Simba suit for Halloween. We bought it big so he could get a few years of use out of it. It was the perfect weight for October in NJ, but I fear it may be to hot for the cruise. Any thoughts?

We were dressed as the Flintstones in light weigh cotton costumes no sleeves. As I recall we were comfortable on deck 9 for the party. Ray was in a heavier costume, he'll have to reply on wearing fur.
I think he'll be alright in his Simba costume.

Lynne:

Let me tell you from experience. Those Furry suits are HOT HOT HOT! They must have been designed for Artic TorT'ers. We were in the costume contest which involved walking waiting getting presented and then waiting again. Did I mention sweating?

Little Simba will be OK if the activity is toned WAY down, and kept to short periods of time. Otherwise he might be working on his Roar a LOT and working his parents last nerve also.

I am going Light weight this time.

Hope this helped.

Ray

Hello again board I guess I am back

:) We are home! I think I had DIS withdrawal!

Welcome Debbie and hello again Ray. Hang in there Emma, we are sure it will all go well :).

We were in the east for over a week. Tom's professional conference in Baltimore enabled me to visit GINGER and ASHLEY for an afternoon. They were so sweet and drove to Baltimore so I did not have to hassle strange traffic and highways. THANKS GINGER :).

ASHLEY is a FISH--what a good swimmer. She made me a card and I put it in my scrapbook already. THANKS ASHLEY :).

I spent a day with Estelle after the conference when Tom had business in PA. Saw all three of her DDs and had a lovely dinner with her and her DH. THANKS ESTELLE :) for coming to get me and letting me hang out ALL DAY!!

The trip went well except that a window was broken on our motorhome :( while we were staying in the hotel in Baltimore and our little TV was stolen from the cabinet. That means they had to be inside and looking through drawers and such as it was totally out of sight. But no one was hurt--that is the biggie.

We did all our driving on slower roads because on the highways at 65 plus MPH the duct tape loosened and the plastic on the window-that-was-not-there would flap. We left my mother's on Monday at 8 am and got home at MIDNIGHT. It is usually a 12 hour drive. We are TIRED.

Jan :earsgirl: and Tom :earsboy:

Welcome Home Jan,
I am so glad you had a safe trip. Ashley has been playing with all the great stuff you gave her. She's been toteing her tins of mints around in the little lions bags. She's learned to jump off our diving board. A big change from last year, she wouldn't even put her face in the water.
Well I am off to bake raspberry brownies and 4th of July cupcakes before it gets to hot here today.
You all have a great 4th and a safe one, leave the fireworks to the pros. :D

Jan, I'm glad you are back home safely! That's awful that someone broke into your mobilehome!! :( It's such a violation!!

Happy Independence Day!!
