Calling Halloween Cruisers!

Okay Jan-- you know how Darth is about this sort of thing. I seem to have developed into a clone. I started my packing list this afternoon at work. So far I have 4 pages one for each of the first 4 days. Of course the pages only have about 6 items on each page so I will still be able to pack most of the things into the two suitcases. My major problem is still the Mystery costume. It is at my friends house being shortened. But that really isn't going to make it any smaller. I think my carry on is going to have the tort stuff, the regional stuff, my drug store and if I get really lucky the costume. But I'm not counting on it. Maybe my toiletries wil fit in too. I think I need to get out the carry on and see how large it really is.
I need to reread the papers from Disney. The only thing I remember for sure is that we are due to leave on the 26th. That's only 23 or 24 days. I'll NEVER BE READY!!
The four DCs (that's Disney Cats) are beating down the door to the living room. Our dinner is over and they want THEIRS. NOW!!!!! Estelle

Didn't it just go up in the spring from $7. to $8. Really does pay to spend the night at the Radisson. We have the $99. suite special there or should I say the $29. suite.

I FINALLY got my DOCS!! It took Fed Ex 3 days to finally 'find' me I had to sign for them personally.
Yesterday we decided that it would be best to deliver them to me at work. The FED EX guy wasn't too happy. Bummer!

I had a Disney Dream last night! LOL I had a dream that I went into a bathroom at WDW and it wasn't just a bathroom... it was also a dressing room for the characters!! And I saw Minnie Mouse's clothes sitting on a chair. Yeah right! Like that would happen at WDW. LOL

Hello all!

Been busy around here, and still do not have anything packed! Tuxes are at the dry cleaners, and that is the only thing we have ready.

3 more weeks and we will be on the big beautiful ship!

3 weeks from today and we're in Key West! I was looking at the calendar this morning and it looks SO close - once we hit October, the days started flying!

My orientaltrading stuff arrived and I'm happy with it and I think the kids will be too - I think it's pretty age-appropriate - even the older kids will have fun with one item.

I got my underwater camera last night at Target and we bought a new camcorder bag - our old one was huge and not worth the trouble of carrying around - the new one holds the camcorder and the battery and that's all - much more efficient. We'll keep everything else in the room.

Finally came up with costumes for the family yesterday. Can't wait to show you all (but I'm keeping it a secret until we are there)

19 days! Woo hoo! We started our standerdized tests today. They are way too easy! The math section is a joke!

Tomorrow we should go and get my formal wear. Can't wait to tell you all about it.

On Friday we had a visit from a Tiger and her cub. Aww! They were so sweet!!!

Saturday will be our last game of the regular season, before play offs. We're getting nervous!

A friend of mine just started to like Sean Biggerstaff. Yeah! Someone to talk to! She doesn't like his accent though. I wanted to slap her!!!

Yes, I am talking nonsense. We will be getting our halloween and local treat stuff soon. Yes, it is all still a surprise!

Since one of the judging categories for Halloween costumes on the Cruise is BEST GROUP, I was wondering if we should at sometime compare notes so that all the people that go together can be introduced and judged together.
If we have a couple witches, they could be a group.
If we have a couple vampires and victims, they could be a group.
If we have a Queen (maybe DAN AND SCOTT'S MOM wearing a crown) and her retainers (anyone in a Tux or gown) they could be a group.
If we have any pirates, they could be a group.
ETC.

What does anyone think?

We MAY be leaving home a couple days earlier than we had thought as Tom MAY have a business meeting in southern Indiana! Whoopee!! starting the trip earlier!

We will be doing WDW (Fort Wilderness) after the cruise--anyone else?

There's nothing wrong with a scottish accent! OK so sometimes when it's very thick, its hard to understand but other than that I think its cool!

We're staying at Universal Studios after the cruise for a couple of days and the Boardwalk for a week before the cruise. That makes it 12 days till Im off!

That's why I wanted to slap her. I LOVE Scottish accents! I think they're so cool!!!!!!! I've become facinated in Scotland lately. In fact I kinda want to move there when I get older!!!

Friday was "animal" day. We had experts bring in a tiger and her cub. They were the cutest things. Of course all of the boys were bring immature. A couple of them tried to step on the poor things taiol, which was sticking out of the cage!

Okay, so we changed it to getting the formal wear some other time this week, but the instant I do I will be sure to give all the details! I want to try to get something purple so I have something to wear all the purple make up I got for my birthday with.

Jan, Joshua (and MAYBE Ron, my dh) will be dressing as pirates.

We will be spending Saturday at the MK and the night at the Contemporary!! My favorite resort!!! We haven't been there in quite a while! Then we fly home on Sunday.

so who else received Beauty and the Beast from their pre-order today? My kids are watching it now!

We'll be at MK Sat and Sun, flying home Monday. We're staying at AKL both nights with friends from Tampa.

We're game to be part of the vampire+victim group - I'll have extra blood with us (that sounds funny) for any other victims we can round up!

Off to OK again tomorrow - home Friday, then one more trip next week and I'm DONE! Woo Hoo!

I guess I am sort of in the witches category. Not sure we'll see when I actually have it on.
Rory-- too bad you aren't closer to Pennsylvania. We have a weekend event at the end of September beginning of October, called Celtic Fest. We do things Scotish, Irish and a bit of Welsh. I am of Scotish decent and love all things Scotish except Haggis. I even like the bagpipes. We have real Scotish games during the weekend and for two years in a row have had world records set. It is a lot of fun and the food (other than Haggis) is fantastic.

Jan-- the envelope arrived today. Thanks for all the goodies. Phil was delighted with the coupon. So thanks again. Phil is off with Elza to Center I to fix a broken toilet. I don't think he had any clue that he would end up doing all the things he is doing for the centers. The kids at Center II think it is really neat that Miss Elzas' Dad comes in every afternoon. And the ones in Nursery class get to visit him in the office. If they have been good they get lollipops. So of course he is their favorite person.

Only 15 days until we leave I will never be ready. This weekend is get out suitcases and do a dry run at packing them. We aren't going to WDW either before or after since we were just there in the spring and in February. We won't be there again until 2004 since we had 4 vacations this year. And I may be having knee surgery next year. Oh well I'll just have to dream about a cruise in 2004.

Howdy gang!!! We are getting SOOOOOOO excited! We are working on POTENTIAL costumes.

I have two or three more things on the "to buy" list. I found these DROP DEAD gorgeous shoes for formal dresses....except that they only go with one of the dresses. I just can't justify two pairs of shoes.....

We are getting really excited about Halloween aboard ship. And this past week, three people have asked me about Disney cruises...and I have sent them each an email with all the *good* sites.....

We are doing the parks and MNSSHP and the Rad before and the parks and AKL afterwards. We can hardly wait!

I am hoping that we will be doing Mickey's Not So Scary on Friday night before the cruise. Still not sure about it, or if I will hit Food & Wine (which I missed last year because of having just had Trevor) I guess we'll figure it out soon enough.

Just a quick post before I put the kids to bed. I think it has been over a week since I posted. I have snuck a few quick peeks at the boards at work. Can’t post from there.

I can’t believe that vacation is just 2 weeks away! We are heading down a few days before the cruise to AKL. Got three out of the four birth certificates. My DH’s was fine. Mine was the original but had no raised seal. I was not taking any chances so I ordered a new one from Vital Check. Came in just about a week. We had major renovations done to our house about two years ago and I put the kids birth certificates some place very safe. So safe that I still cannot find them. DH was nice enough to drive about 1/2 hour away to get a certified copy of DD Birth Certificate so just DS’s left to get. Hoping to get DH to get that one too. He has much more flexible working hours then I have. So, crossing off the Birth Certificates leaves me only 183 things left on my vacation TO DO list!

Also order a Tee shirt from Ray and am checking the mail every day looking for it.

Estelle – Forgot to tell you I’ll be a Sue’s tomorrow afternoon to pick up my dress. I am so excited. Hoping to get there by 4:30 or 5 at the latest so I can get back home in time to have dinner with my family. This will only work of the traffic on 22 heading East will not be too bad at rush hour.

ESTELLE: Tom said that he did not remember the "Nursery School Problem Solving" course at RPI. Good thing Phil took it.

KAREN: What are the good sites you share when doing commercials for DCL? I want to be sure I am not leaving out any. (People keep asking if Disney pays me for my commercials.)

EVERYONE: We did not get Beauty and the Beast, but we did get Monster's Incorporated and watched it twice through the first night.

Glad to hear that the costumes and formal outfits are all shaping up and anticipation is high.

Our guest bed now holds one packed carry on, one nearly packed suitcase for checked luggage and some miscellaneous items that must be put somewhere depending on space. The diningroom table has some items for the camping portion of the trip. I have rescheduled my patients from Wednesday to Tuesday of departure week. Am I excited?? Maybe so!
