the kid's formal gear arrived and I have to give you a sneak peek - DS's tux fits perfectly (no alterations) although I think he'll be steaming in it.

Now, you will all recognize us on Monday night! LOL

It was the Eastern Cruise...
We would have been on the Western Cruise for Halloween this year, but due to several obstacles, we had to cancel the cruise. :-(. We hope to book another cruise once things smooth out.

But... I dug my old Halloween cruise trip report out of the archives if anyone was interested in reading it.... last year Halloween was on St. Thomas day.

I also wanted to wish you all a great cruise! I'm sure it will be fabulous! We enjoyed every minute of it last year.

Rory-The thought of me on a team! Hilarious! Now my choir on the other hand is being entered for national youth choir of the year! Haha, im very proud of my choir incase you couldnt tell. I really hope the CD is ready in time for me to bring with me.

My dress that Im wearing for the formal night is the one that I wore to Carmen. Its really nice but not floaty and pink like Masonpips' daughter! Im soooo jealous! Its lucky Lauren aint gonna be with us, she'd have run off with it anyway despite the fact that it wouldnt fit her.

I think we have late seating, I cant remember if we changed it or not. I know we thought the early one was too early this time.

I read somewhere that scoops has forzen yoghurt as well as ice cream! I love frozen yoghurt so if its true then you'll know where to find me!

Off shopping now, my teacher had no complaints and couldnt speak highly enough of me so Im free for the day! Watch out Liverpool, here I come!

I emailed DU re: our docs and here is the response:

Hi,
I called but your docs have not yet been printed. DCL will send them anywhere from 2-6 weeks before sailing. Sometimes circumstances dictate that people will get their documents earlier, such as if they have air with DCL.

I'm sure it won't be much longer.

Have a wonderful time!
Cathy

Again, I'm thinking our issue is the guarantee status - I bet they're trying to figure out where to put us! So maybe 2 more weeks to wait? :(

Sue Ellen - did you ever get your dinner seating changed?

Debby - the kids look adorable!!!! We'll be looking for you.

And we were GTY until we arrived at the check-in counter last year.

Emma - have fun shopping!

Dena - WOOHOO on the upgrade!

What is everyone doing about Semi-formal night on Halloween? I thought we would dress semi-formally for dinner and then change into our costumes. Our fav picture from last year was the one with M & M in their formal finest, and they were only dressed that way on the second formal night. SO.......we want that picture....but then IF they dress in their formals rather than their sailor clothes on the first formal night, then we will wear halloween costumes to dinner. (ANd we are still in discussions as to what the adults will be wearing for HAlloween.)

Less than a month away!

Ok, with only about 1 month left, I really need to get things going! I am so sorry about being here that much guys, but I am very excited to meet each of you!

I have a bunch of questions that I need answered, please help!

1) How many T or T bags do I need?

2) What do I put in the bags, candy (boy the parents would love me, any neat ideas?)

3) How many flags do I need to get?

4) How many post cards?

5) Ideas for a costume? I want something that is small, fits in the suitcase...... I really do not want much

6) When and where is the DIS meet?

7) Are we meeting pool side at the Radisson the night before? If not you can come up and meet us at the Port. We will be the first 3 in line!

8) What happens when I get my upgrade at the port? How do I contact to change the T or T maps?

Ok so that should keep you all busy. Thanks for all your help.

Dan

Dan - you are cracking me up!

What I think I know

1) How many T or T bags do I need?
21-24 (???) I'm planning on 24 myself.

2) What do I put in the bags?
Totally up to you - I'm not doing chocolate because of the heat. Probably some trinket thing and another candy.

3) How many flags do I need to get?
I got 40 leis for everyone, I figure the same amount of flags should be ok?

4) How many post cards?
dunno

5) Ideas for a costume?
Are you doing a tux? Can you add to it? That's what we're doing - Dh is adding to his tux (cape) and I'm going as his victim

6) When and where is the DIS meet?
I *think* (and I am not sure on this one at all) it's on Deck 10 during the sailaway party on the starboard side so Shirley can see us? There is also a group lunch after TorT (again, I think)

7) Are we meeting pool side at the Radisson the night before? If not you can come up and meet us at the Port. We will be the first 3 in line!
We'll be at the Radisson, I don't know if we ever decided on a meet/dinner. We'll be to the port early, but probably not that early - we should have the green leis with us both Fri night and at port to hand out

8) What happens when I get my upgrade at the port? How do I contact to change the T or T maps?
We don't have a room yet either (paid for upgrade, but hoping to go higher) so we can get the info to Lynne once we're onboard.

That help?

Debby,

Thank you so much for the quick reply!

Yes, we are both wearing tuxes, go as penguins? What can I add, I don't want to take your idea. I guees me and Scott in our tuxes and mom in her formal dress and we can be the musical trio from Titantic! LOL just kidding!

Dan

Ordered my stuff to TorT from Orientaltrading.com and included DS's goody bag stuff (his bday is a week before we leave). He is having a pirate-themed bowling party - obviously I let him make the choices this year!

I just have to say:

I am getting SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited

4 weeks and counting

Here's hoping the hurricanes all start fizzling out.

I have not been on the boards since page 65. WOW, you have been busy. I have not been ill, I have been knitting Cabbage Patch doll clothes for the daughters of a friend.

I offered to keep a list of who was bringing what for Trick or Treating but only got a couple replies. If you want to send to me--you can direct e-mail me, see below-- I can be the keeper of that list, or we can just figure that we will bring what we feel like and if it is a duplication--that happens. What is everyone's preference?

Estelle's comment cracked me up:
Okay, now if I understand the contract correctly the only way you could possibly sue Disney would be if the Captain attacked you. Even if you struck an ice berg in the middle of the Carribean you couldn't sue. Of course you could probably get a large amount for the pictures from the National Enquirer.
We got our MAGIC DOCUMENTS a few days ago. Gave them the once over and will look in detail this weekend on our get-away to our local timeshare.

MASONPIPS: Can you tell DS that his Tux is a costume too? He is dressing up as a rich man. Or a modern king or something like that?

Is Goofydisney's family counted in the Trick or Treating? I did not see her on the list.

Our dinner seating is LATE as is Estelle's.

Lorraine--I think you are new to this discussion: Welcome! Are you participating in Trick or Treat? Bringing kids?

How many family groups are represented? perhaps we should make up Halloween bags, one for each family group, with the local treat, local postcard, home address (like on a business card or a return address label) and hand them out on the Trick or Treat day.

The Documents said something vague about Trick or Treating on the ship and that made me wonder if DCL might "do" Halloween on a different day and have Formal Night on Thursday as on other cruises. Or put the Formal Night a different day. On a previous cruise a fellow we met who had produced entertainment for other cruise lines said that Formal Night is usually an at-sea day so that the ladies have all day to get their hair done at the Spa. For Halloween no one would do that, so maybe they would hold that on Grand Cayman day when we are leaving the port earlier than on Cozumel day. Any ideas?

Jan :earsgirl:

Still late seating for us  I just can't seem to get lucky enough to get that early seating. I'm still told that it is FULL. We just HAVE to get it changed or else dinner is going to be miserable for us and everyone near us. (trust me on this one--Trevor is a DOLL except for when he is TIRED! That is the ONLY time you won't want to be near him)

I'm excited too. Still on GTY status also. DH tried on his tux the other day, and it looks great. I'm working on getting him a surprise for it!
Less than 30 days to go! I can't wait.

Sue Ellen

bbump - Thank you for finding your trip report. I enjoyed reading it again. I'm sorry to hear you and your family won't be able to go this year.

Debby - Mason and Lauren look so cute in their formal clothes. I'll bet Lauren felt like a princess while wearing it. Even Mason looks as if he's having fun. Patty:earsgirl:

Patty I think Jan is referring to the form letter we received in our docs. It's the same letter we received last year except they have added the sentence: To avoid any disappointment or delay in your boarding process, we ask that when considering costume options you refrain from bringing toys or props that resemble guns, knives or other related implements, as these items will not be allowed onboard. It's just a form letter.

I'll have my postcards and goodies with me to exchange while at Brunch on Monday and lunch after T-or-T.

BTY LAST CALL FOR BRUNCH RESSSIES at Palo on Monday? Of course you can make your own. I am going to try to get our group reservations for 11:00 or 11:30. You will receive conformation on the time. We have 16 people signed up. We may get to use the private dining room in Palo after all.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

We have check-out at OKW at 11am hoping to be at the Rad. by 12:30pm.

We have 20 more days before we leave for the World.:bounce:

Ginger, will you add me and my DH to the Palo brunch? Hopefully we can get Flounders for Trevor for that time.

Sue Ellen

SueEllen I would love to add you to the list. I need your last name and stateroom number to make ressies. Send me you last name and we'll see what we can do about getting your stateroom number. Are you planning on being at the terminal early? If so I can get your room number before we board. Try to be at Flounders early to get the ressies you want with them. I'll be one of the first people at Palo to get our group ressies.

Sue Ellen, Flounders opens for registration later than everything else. Last time, we went to Palos, then the Spa, and then went to wait outside FR door. We were frist in line, but we had about a 20 mintue wait. It worked out rather nicely. Then after we saw the schedule for FR, then if we had to, we could go back and adjust our other ressies. Just so you know, there were no "at sea" times that we could put our DD in FR and do Brunch. The times didn't work. But since we get into GC later, you could see if you could do Palos on a day in port. And in case someone hasn't mentioned it to you, Animators Palate only does the animation show on the first night that eveyrone has AP, and not every night you are in AP. If you think Trevor might enjoy it, then make sure ya'll are there together the first night and plan dinner at Palos for another night.

I still don't have my docs... So, it's not just because you have a guaranteed status, Debby.

Rory, We have early seating.

Debby, The kids are adorable!!!!!

Ginger - We didn't get that form letter in our docs. Thanks for giving me the info on what it said. Will the ressies for the brunch be under Halloween Cruisers group and then our name and room #? Patty :earsgirl:

Patty, No Dear Disney Magic Guest letter. Well if you go to page 1 of this thread you can read the first part of the letter, I wrote the last part in my last post.
Palo ressies: Well I was going to title it The DIS Meet but since not everyone is joining us I think your name for it is better. I'll put the ressies under "THE HALLOWEEN CRUISERS". So if anyone wants to be added or deleted you'll still have to give them your last name and stateroom number but be sure to tell them your a "Halloween Cruiser".:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
