Question for you. My group is are trying to pick a hotel to stay
at... [can you imagine what will happen when we try to pick a
restaurant! Don't even want to go there].

Anyway, one of our group, instead of a hotel, had some criteria for a hotel. Can you look at the criteria below and tell me which hotel you think would be best.

Also let me say that we are looking at a Moderate priced or (lower priced Deluxe Resort).

Also if you could tell me if the WL, AKL or POFQ would fit any of these criteria?

1)that the hotel is easily accessible to the parks (from what I've
read some are more accessible than others, some of the bus transfers are not great, some are closer to some parks than others, haven't figured out what makes the most sense there)

2)that the pool(s) are kid friendly and hotel in general is kid
friendly (I'm sure they all are, some more than others), nice
playgrounds, etc., the layout isn't too spread out, so we're walking forever to our rooms.

3) that there is someplace convenient if we need to have some meals, especially breakfast at the hotel.

Thank you!
Stacy

Welcome to the Dis!

All WDW resorts are very kid/family friendly. Besides the vacation clubs, they come in 3 "flavors".

Values - lowest priced, smallest rooms, great theme pools but no slides, food courts only, no sit down resturants. 4 people per room (+1 infant under 3) max.

Moderates - mid priced, little bigger room than values, great theme pools with slide, food court plus 1 sit down resturant, 4 people per room except for 1 section of Port Orleans which will sleep 5 (plus 1 infant).

Deluxe - higher priced, most desireable locations (may include on monorail, can walk to a park), small food court, 2 or more sit down resturants; 4-5 per room (many have daybeds). WL and AKL are the least expensive; have concierge floor(s).

AKL and POP have their own dedicated bus lines. AKL because it is a deluxe and more remote, POP because of it's size. The Mod's all have multiple bus stops in the resort, deluxes share. I have heard the most wonderful things and the worst things about transportation from every single resort. ;)

To plan a trip, I'd first set a budget to decide on a val/mod or deluxe resort. Next, look at what you'll be doing and which resort is closest. Then look at the overall themeing. Go to the SEARCH function of the DIS and do a search on any potential resorts. You'll get ton's of info. Most of the resorts have FAQ threads. Also, feel free to ask for any additional info.

I can help you with WL as it is the only one from your list which I have stayed at. I have pictures in my link if you'd care to look.

Happy planning & don't get *to* overwhelmed!!
