Calling ALL Texans!

Met my hubby and he moved me to Rockwall. I LOVE IT!!!!

You're the second person I seen here that lives in Rockwall. The other one I've met, our girls go to the same school and were actually in the same GS troop for a year but she doesn't know that I'm a DISer. We never had the opportunity to talk about it. She frequents one of the other boards. Anyway, since you have a boat in the marina, we may not live that far from each other if you live south of I30. Small world!

Hi Planogirl! :wave2: If you're ever at Stonebriar Mall and go to Sonic, I"m the one with the frogs on my nametag. :teeth:

TOV
I had no idea that you worked at Stonebriar! I can't count the number of times we've stopped at the Chik Fil-A right next to you since my son loves them so much. We haven't been for a while but I'll watch for frogs. :)

Grew up in Illinois. Moved to Texas in the Great Migration of '81 (when Illinois had a 25% unemployment rate.) Law school at SMU. I've lived in Grapevine since 1986.

Okay, we've got Euless, Grapevine, Keller, Flower Mound and Lewisville. If we could add Southlake and Colleyville, we'd have all of northeast Tarrant County covered!

So many Texans here!

I've lived in Pasadena (blech!), Webster, Houston, Channelview, Texarkana and then later Plano and finally Frisco. We almost ended up in McKinney and Grapevine but they turned out to be a little too far from work. Frisco is cool even though we're about to be surrounded by tollroads. Traffic is awful!

Don't forget Bedford. I have an aunt that lives there.

Nice to meet you!!!
How old is your daughter?? What neighborhood to you live in? We are in Highland Meadows, (the semi-new decelopments behind Kohl's and Chuck E cheese.

We have friends that live in Rockwall on Lakeshore. They are not on the lake but up closer to the railroda tracks.

I think we should all celebrate San Jacinto Day tomorrow. I'll be at the monument tomorrow at 11:00 for the official celebration if everything goes right at work in the morning. I am a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas and try to make it every year.

Native Texan here too! Raised in Pearland and we now live in Friendswood-- but Im not snobby :snooty: :teeth: . Though Im not really happy in the house we have so we might move back to Pearland :confused3 Its still up in the air.
Pearl-and......AAAhhhhhh its like fingernails on a chalkboard to me, lol. I dont know why but it drives me crazy.
We have family in Pearland, Pasadena, Frisco (I love Frisco!), McKinney, Jewett and Sweetwater (watch for those Rattlers!!)

Not ALL of us here in the "Friendly Woods" are snobby! :teeth: Besides, being a Disney addict alone is enough to ensure we are not snobs!! :flower:

m&m's mom just a little kidding on the red raider thing. Actually we also have a fourteen year old that we are trying to convince to go to Tech when he goes to college. We don't want our baby to be far from home. :flower: Though his older brother will probably disown him ;)

Navasota, 70 miles NW of Houston and 20 minutes from College Station, home of the Texas Aggies.

35 years this July, with several generations going back on both sides from the state.

Round Rock Texas

Lived here 17 years (other than that 10 months in Baton Rouge I refer to as my time in exile)

I am amazed there is more than one Round Rocker here. If this keeps up, we may have to start holding DIS meets on the Round Rock

To all the other folks reading this, yes, our town really is named after a round rock. More specifically, this round rock:

Hi, We're in Conroe, I'm a native Texan. I've lived in Trinity, New Caney, Nacodoches, Houston - 1960 area. I love it here. My Dh is from NY, he likes it here but misses snow
Jacqueline

Another native Texan here! Born in Houston at Herman Hospital. Have lived in Houston, Buna, Silsbee (mostly grew up there), Beaumont, Port Arthur, and now in Bay City (for the last 18 years).

Anyplace else is nice to visit, but wouldn't want to live there- Texas is home!

You're real close, about three miles north of us. We don't actually live in an area with a name, not a structured subdivision. Our little area is still considered county but we are right on the city line. We live over near Cain MS. That's were my daughter attends school, she's 14.

That's a very pretty area to live in.

Wow! I counted up how many people on this thread I've met in person, and I've met 11 of you thanks to DIS meets :). Hi, m&m's mom, planogirl, shatzjsl, Mr.BsMom, mommystieg, Mad4Mickey, slimplaw, janette, Carl, 4greatboys, and nativetxn :wave2:. Has Kathy posted on here yet ? We're going to plan a DFW meet soon. I'll post something in a couple of weeks when I have more details.

That's cool about Round Rock, Hound. I never knew that. Thanks for the pictures.

Gymbomom - I'm not positive, but I think I've seen Chad say he is a 20 or 21 year old college student, so that may give you a clue as to when he graduated.

Okay, my bil graduated from SG, so I was wondering if they were around the same age.
Let me know when ya'll have a meet, I would love to join in, that way I could "seal" the deal on my hubby thinking I am nuts on the whole Disney thing!! LOL
