Thanks for the heads up! I just ordered my meal for Monday.

I remember last year a video montage link being posted on here before the race and it was so much fun to watch that I'd love to watch it again or see any new ones. Anyone have the link? I thought it was someone on here that made the video, but I can't remember for sure.

Very cool. I made BOG magic band reservations for Monday, Feb 24. I will be the one wearing a medal! : )

Helloooooooo Princesses!! :)

A big thank you to those who provided words of support with my weather woes last week. I would include those comments here but am on my iPad and so don't have multi-quote capability at the moment. :) I opted for the TM on Sunday but had a very frustrating run - felt very run down and had a wicked headache. I really wanted to run the 10 I'd planned for but had to stop at 7, and honestly broke down into tears after because I was so angry that I couldn't go farther. I've hit 8.5 (a few weeks ago), but am finding myself struggling to go farther. Recurring headaches and really not so fun GI issues have me worried about both training and the actual race. I've set up a doctor appointment for next Monday to see if I can do anything about either - don't want anything holding me back from fully participating.

On another note - what to wear. I'm totally with you guys in doing a dress rehearsal before the big day. Soooooo... I JUST got my Sparkle skirt order today! But although I LOVE the Sparkle Light skirt (in yellow as I'll be running as Belle), I found the MuddBuster capris really uncomfortable. So disappointed because I love the deep mesh pockets on each leg, but I found the seams really itchy. Does anyone know of any other running capris that come with pockets? I've just been running in my cheap Target Champion or Old Navy capris, which are fine, but I really do want those pockets for my gels, Nuun tablets and such.

Any suggestions?

Laura428, I don't have a suggestion for capris. But have you thought about getting a race belt of some kind? I run with a fuel belt and it's great for me and my needs. There's a small pouch to hold goodies, 2 holsters with water bottles, and some little elastic loops for gels/gus. My iphone is in a OtterBox and the holster clips easily on my belt. I'm probably a high maintenance runner since I stuff a lot into the pouch - eye drops, chapstick, mini bodyglide for midrace application, ID and cash, Immodium (i have some GI issues), tissues, some hard candies, and more. I was even able to put my phone in there before I went to a smartphone!
There are so many options out there for apparel and gear. Good luck finding what that works for you!

Thanks - I actually do have a race belt but I'm not crazy with how it feels when I'm running. My waist is much smaller than my hips, so if I wear it lower around hip-level, it rides up and ends up bouncing with every stride. If I cinch it at the waist, it feels too restrictive. I'm high-maintenance, I know. :)

I just bought some from
Athleta in sale that have a rear pocket- they are pretty nice. I also like a pack of two capris I bought at SAMs club - they might be Ryka...

Have you looked into a flip belt? I got one in November and love it! It's a solid band you step into, and on one side there are several openings that's where you put in phone, iPod, id/cash, gels/gu/fuel etc. Then you flip the belt so the openings face your body. I don't even notice I have it on. It's about the size of the band that would fold over on a pair of yoga pants, for a size estimate. I usually put my phone (which I play my music on so basically my iPod) ID, card, house key, and sport beans or chews.

I have the same feelings about my race belt because of my smaller waist/bigger hips. I find that if I pin the belt to my waistband, it helps. Just remember to pin it in such a way that u can still pull down your capris or shorts to use the bathroom! Lol I use a very very small belt, even so. Just a couple chews, tissues, and my iPod clipped on the belt or waistband.

:thumbsup2 I may or may not be having some buyer's remorse, lol!

If I could have convinced my family to fly down earlier, I would add the 5k also. And make every one of them do it with me! lol. you'll be fine. Just take it easy and enjoy it! Pretend you are running around the expo - same difference. :lmao:
