I do remember this year making a reservation at the contemporary at full price just to get a res number and then checked back every couple of weeks for the discounts to come out. Believe it was Aug when I got a discount and they do let you keep same res number....just with a lower price. Good luck princess runners !

What part of Epcot do we run through?

OK guys correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you go up to the fountains in future world before you go into world showcase and circle around then run back out to the finish.... ? Finish line is outside of EPCOT. I remember thinking, "wow that's it" but then again was pumped to almost be done.

I did RR for the 2012 when it was $99. I had read so many reviews from 2011 PHM that the weather was drizzly and cold I decided to splurge on it. The weather in 2012 was great, overcast, mid 50's. (I'm from Oregon so this is a typical training day for me). The biggest perk to the RR is you have to get to Disney races SOOOO incredibly early before you start that you do a ton of "hanging" out before race start.

That is where RR comes in handy. If the weather is rainy you have a covered place to hang out. If you dont have RR, there really is no where to stay warm/dry. You are in a huge empty parking lot. I didnt really take advantage of the food in there. I think I only had water. I brought my own bagel (the same kind I eat before a long run at home, packed it in my suitcase. I didnt want any kind of "new food/brand" that I wasnt sure how my stomach would react to.) I saw some people seriously chowing down though, good for them but UGH!

There are a lot of tables and chairs and it's pretty loud with all the people talking. I went to the corner of the tent and sat on the ground, stretched, stayed warm, listened to some music and just chilled out. Used the bathrooms that are private to the RR people (this was really nice) and checked my bag in the private bag check area as I saw mass people were heading out.

Once I finished and walked like Frankenstein over to the tent, I got my bag and they also gave us free PHM flip flops to put on. We grabbed a bottle water from the RR and then headed back out to stand in the CRAZY long line for buses. So I never really used the RR after the race, I mean who wants to sit around in an enclosed tent with 500 people that smell like B.O.?

So for 2014, I'm still trying to decide if I am going to do it or not.... If it wouldve been $99 I probably would. BUt now for $120, that's a bit steep. Part of the problem is you just dont know what the weather in Orlando is going to be like. I guarantee if you were standing in the rain for 2 hours the $120 would probably seem like nothing to you!! So the verdict is out if I'm going to do it....... Hope this helps??

Thank you this is helpful. My sister and I haven't done it in the past because all the family was there and it would have been just too expensive. This year its just her and I so I thought it could be fun.

I just don't know whether I should do both the 10K which I don't need and half or just the half. Its $65 more for the 10K as well so......I just cant decide. What are other people doing?

Does anyone have the course map from last year?

(I've got to start remembering that i have TWO other races before this.... but for now, I'm too excited!)

You don't run through world showcase. Just down to the lake front, turn around and back to space ship earth.

Here is something pretty neat. If you use map my run, you can see what other people have logged for routes. This link should take you to a mapmyrun route for PHM... on the page to the right is a box which gives "Route info" the second line down is to see the route in 3D...check that link out! It gives the route through a Google Earth view!! :cool1:

Awesome! This is perfect. thank you both! Hopefully it's the same this year. That's actually kinda a lot of Epcot IMO. For the W&D, we are in Epcot much less. Still fun though. Now we just have to wait for the new 10k route too....

Hi guys! A friend and I are all registered for the 2014 PHM!! We want to run as a team and are having a hard time figuring out how to do that. It says we have to register and pay individually, which we did, but now we want to pay the $15 to become a team! Anyone know how to do this? I'm so excited!!

For those of you concerned about the Race Retreat and how fast it will sell out, here is a link to watch:

This shows how many of each of the "extras" are still available for PHM weekend. Hope this helps :goodvibes

Wow!! This is fascinating!! I really need to make up my mind on the race retreat.
I have been hanging around the Princess thread since 2010, did my first race in 2012 and have never seen it sell so fast!! Simply amazed!!0

Anyone have a link to watch how full the races are for registrants ? ie-50 %, Sold Out, etc ?

Love this helpful group :goodvibes

Also, running down main street is surreal. It is obviously a VERY small space with a TON of people. I'm not sure I wouldve even have seen them. I'm kind of glad they were out by the hotels watching because they had room to spread out and I actually could see it was them from aways out.
::yes:: ITA. Our cheerers were at the TTC, just before the "hill" down under the water bridge, and on the road next to the GF or Poly. I've never have seen them in the MK!

That is where RR comes in handy. If the weather is rainy you have a covered place to hang out. If you dont have RR, there really is no where to stay warm/dry.
Exactly why I got RR this year; I have terrible weather juju! Naturally, because I bought it, it was warm and pleasant. I can't afford $120 worth of weather insurance this time around, so you are all forewarned: expect it to be miserable in 2014. ;)

I think the finish line is smart actually. Honestly it is when you need to see loved ones the very most.
ITA with this, too! The finish was, in some ways, a huge letdown for me - my group's cheerers hadn't made it to EP from the GF by the time I did, and there wasn't anyone there at the end with whom to celebrate right away. It was just... weird.

What part of Epcot do we run through?
Through backstage/parking lots, into the park through a back entrance by M:S/TT, up around the fountain to the lake and back, past SE and out into the parking lot for the finish. No WS.

How is it for people staying off-site for the races? Is it difficult to drive there for the start of the race?

Also, if staying on-site, we won't get a rental car. I know they have buses to the race, but what about the expo? Is it easy to get from your resort to the expo or do you have to mess around with transferring buses?

Those of you that have stayed ON or Offsite for a RunDisney race, what was your experience?

The more I think about it, we'll probably go with on-site and maybe go with a value for the first time if they don't come up with a good discount for POR or CSR. By the time, I figure in the rental car and parking fees, it will probably be about the same as on-site. And, we just enjoy Disney so much more staying on-site!

Thanks for the welcome! :) I did see that option on the registration email, but the link does not work. It says there is an "error." I originally tried it yesterday and the error is still there today, so I guess I will give RunDisney a call!

I haven't seen anything like that yet, other than just watching the %'s on the runDisney website. I found the link for the extras on a facebook group- if they post any more links I will be sure to share :thumbsup2
