I'm in! OH I am SO excited!! :cool1: PHM and 5k. This will be my first half!!

Anyone know if the princesses are at the breakfast after the 5k?

I'm getting ready to register, but I had a question. Do you have to register for everything at once or can you just pay for the races and then do the race retreat or pasta dinner later? Thanks in advance!

I just booked Port Orleans French Quarter for Princess weekend. It was rack rate, for now it's fine because I know I can update it with a discount later. The CM on the phone told me I was his 6th person booking for the race at POFQ today. My advice because it is a smaller resort, if you are interested in POFQ book it now, you only have to pay 1 night deposit and can add a discount later.

He said POFQ always sells out first. Just an FYI!

I sure hope they have Dooney again this year!

You can always had the RR later. Wish I had a choice to add it just for the 1/2 and not the entire weekend for GSC. Definitely don't need it for a 10k.

This is funny to me because I emailed runDisney about this, but I wanted both, because these will be my first early morning races in big crowds. The response I got said the only retreat would be the half, no 10k or combo package. Disney is so inconsistent sometimes:rolleyes2

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: So excited for all of you who have registered!!! (maybe a tad jealous too ;))

Good luck everyone!!!

Paste that into your browser and it should get you on the site.

When you get to the pay portion you can put in your coupon code for whatever you have DVC, AP or Visa

Thank you soooooo much! You rock :cool1: Registered for GSC! Now I better get to running!!!!

You probably already submitted, I too bought the pins and the Dooney purse. This year was my first ever event. Well, went to the expo and found everything there. I got no discount buying during registration. At the expo I could have used my VISA or AP discount. Now I know!
Didn't really matter on the pins, but for the Dooney it did.

Where was the thing for the Dooney???? I missed it!!!!!! :sad1:

I was told that an email to register for the Dooney will come out closer to the events.

This was last year. I saw a necklace this year but not Dooney.

I was told that an email to register for the Dooney will come out closer to the events.

Oh, OK!! Thank you!!!!!

I ran PHM 2012 when you couldn't pre-order the Dooney's and our flight didn't arrive to Orlando until late Friday afternoon and the Dooney's were long gone by then! I'm determined to get one in 2014 if they have them :thumbsup2

I'm in! I'm so exited. My husband keeps reminding me we have a baby coming between now and the PHM but for some reason I keep focusing on Feb. Now that I'm registered I can relax and get back to getting ready for the baby!

OMG there is a Dooney purse?!...could this race get any better :goodvibes

I see that it was online last year thru the active website and only available to registered participants...how cool! Really hoping they do that again this year

I'm not a Dooney girl, but my absolutely fantastic son got me the NBs (both Minnie and Mickey :cool1: ) and the cool charm bracelet they had for the Marathon in January. It was my first full marathon.

From my Sweaty Bands Minnie Mouse print headband to my Minnie Sparkle Tech Skirt to my NBs I can be Disney from head to toe.... and I can jingle when I run if I am willing to sweat all over my new charm bracelet :rotfl2:

Congrats to everyone that was able to register! :cheer2: Now I just have to wait for Tuesday & hope it doesn't sell out too quickly.

I have been googling blogs of past PHM runners and I came across a few that were DNF and were swept up (not for medical reasons). I know it has been posted before, but it has me freaked out!!! and then makes you question if they were not prepared? did they not train? or just bad luck :confused3 is 300 plus days left to train not enough?

I will tell you I was one of those who did not train. I signed up in November last year for this year's with every intention of training. I am not a runner, but the ladies who talked me into doing this said it was walkable. I was so fearful of being swept. Going into the race I only had a 5K under my belt-all walking. I was freaking out the weekend of the race and shooting myself for not getting the training in.
Well, they had me line up in the front of the last corral because the pacer (balloon lady) was at the back. If you let her by you, you had a chance of being swept. So being in the front of the last corral gave me extra time. I think because of my adrenaline and just being around all the ladies, I did finish the race at 3hr 38 mins. I was fine until I hit around mile 8 or so and started feeling a little of it, so grabbed some biofreeze. That's when the balloon lady passed me. She was so encouraging though. I did jog a little to get ahead of her a little. Also, once we got into transportation center at Disney (mile 4 or so...I stopped and used the bathroom and I lost time that way).
The last 2.5 miles were really hard for me but I just kept going. Once I knew I was safe from being swept-entering Epcot's parking lot, I had to let the pacer lady pass me.
So if I could finish with no training, you can finish with 300 days of training
Hope this story helps anyone with any doubts. I'm 42 years old and I don't exercise, just walking around the parks. So, I'm going to start training because I want to be able to enjoy this one. I was jealous of all those that could stop and take pics, etc. I couldn't waste the precious minute or so.

What I would REALLY like to know is how to run 13.1 miles and still look cute in all those character pics!??? I look like a hot sweaty mess when I run even 3 miles, let alone 13! When I did the Wine & dine, I only stopped for one character because I was so nervous about getting swept and it was my first race. I finished in 2:45 so clearly I would have had some time to stop for a few. One of the reasons I want to do the Princess is because of all the great characters that are out on the course. But I'm certain my face will be red-er than Minnie Mouse's skirt and my hair will not look anything like a princesses. What's the secret? :)
