Me either, but the Minnie shoes were too cute to pass up. They are actually fairly comfortable...I wear them sometimes in the weekend to the store or whatever, but definitely not a good fit for me for running. If they made a Princess one, you can bet I'd be racing to get a pair!

That is the only thing that saved me from the NB craziness. They were super cute, but I can resist Mickey/Minnie themed items. Princess and Star Wars themed items get me everytime. :thumbsup2

Last year the packages included some minigolf and lame discounts, nothing worth it. Once the AP and FL resident room discounts came out I cancelled my RunDisney reservation and rebooked straight through Disney and got a much better rate.

This is a great strategy!

I'd be all over that! I wouldn't be able to wear them for running but certainly for errands and around town.

Got to meet Princess V at RR which was the best part of all !:cool1:
:goodvibes I'm so glad you recognized me and spoke up! It had been a pretty rough weekend for me in all areas other than the race and chatting with you totally perked me up!

Those who ran last year - do you remember what the travel packages included?

I too am trying to "guestimate" costs for the PHM 2014 to see if this is even doable. I am hoping to stay a 7d/6n at Pop or POR. For myself, husband and 3yr old son. Haven't been to Disney in years, never on site and 1st RunDisney event and 1/2.

I am working with an agent but, how does RunDisney work?? Do they have better discounts for resorts and park tickets? Can you get the dining plan too through RunDisney?

It's really hard to plan and I'm nervous about dropping the registration fee day 1 without knowing how much everything else is going to cost

We have set a limit but I still would like to save as much as possible so that I can spend those savings elsewhere :cool1:

Thanks in advance to all who have been there done that!!

From what I remember when booking W&D in 2011 most travel agents cannot get the RunDisney rates. I just booked TofT through RunDisney. I got their room rate, park tickets, and was offered the Dining Plan. Does that help?

My travel agent CAN get RD rates. :) So if you like their rates better, ask your TA if they can book them. She booked them for me for W&D this year. She also had a block of rooms same price or close to same price, but not at the location I wanted.

That's what I'm most interested in - discounted park tickets and hotel room. i've never used the dining plan before, but I don't think it's worthwhile for me. I'm not a huge breakfast person, so I usually bring my cereal and have that in the room. Plus, I think we use tables service way more than quick service, we would end up with extra quick service credits..and I don't even think I would eat all the food at the table service credits (I rarely order dessert). Just doesn't seem to make sense, unless there's a huge savings I'm not aware of!

So i read about this online monday and since i have decided to do the half ... am i being silly to do that? and is it insane (i.e. should my family invest in a straight jacket?) to do the Glass Slipper?
living in the UK its very expensive to visit my favourite place on earth i was just thinking it might be more cost efective to do 2 for the plane ticket of one.
feed back would be amazing
also it will be my first trip with out my DM:worried: so if i do come i might be looking to some of you lovely ladies to hang out with

Hi, welcome! It is not silly. You still have over 7 months to train. Do you run now? Have you run in any other races?

7 miles this morning!!! :woohoo: Longest run to date. I tried VERY hard not to think about how much longer 13.1 is when I was running! :scared1:

If you are already at 7 you will have no trouble with 13.1! Still lots of time to train. CONGRATS!!!

Thanks! I've been wanting to run the PHM for two very long years and when I could finally run again in late 2012 (PF had me barely walking most of 2012) I was determined to start training and get my base running really strong before the 1/2 training! Feeling pretty good about it...although my knees don't totally agree with me after 7 miles! ;)

You got this! Have you ever tried biofrreze on your knees post-run. I've had 2 knee surgeries and use it after my long runs. Totally saves me.

Awesome job!! :cool1: You've got plenty of time to get the rest of the way!

With the early registration opening up on June 6, I've been doing a lot of thinking about the race. I put together this blog post to pull together all the info I know from doing it last year and from reading about it this year. I hope someone finds it helpful!

Awesome blog!! It was just what I needed to read, motivate, imagine and excite me all at the same time.
The 2014 PHM will be my firsts of many things. You summed it up perfectly for me!!
Thank you for sharing as well as everyone else on the boards.

Hello!!! Hoping to do my first race ever...and of course it has to be at Disney! I'm a 40-something (ha!) mom who has never run before. I'm doing the Jeff Galloway conditioning program now...just finishing week 3.
I'm a Disney Visa holder so I'm hoping to preregister soon. Think the 10k could sell out in early registration? I want to do the 5k with my family but I might not be able to get the extra day off from work. I'd say that there's a good chance I'm going to be alone for the 10k...I only know someone doing the half.

I'm a little worried that I'll be disappointed that I am not going to try for the half...but think it would be better for me to start with a little more reasonable goal. Will the 10k be just as fun & exciting??
