I would like to but it comes down to money unless you are the lucky one that just won the mega bucks or the power ball lotteries and want to pay if forward. ;)

This is the one thing that frustrates me about Disney races. They are so expensive.

Expensive and addictive which is all the more annoying! I had no plans to run PHH again until DD was old enough or had the desire to run with me. Darn GSC!

Just ran my first this morning! Did it in 1 hour 8 minutes! Pretty pleased considering its my first and I'm still rehabbing from an injury. I hope it's good enough for a decent corral at PHM.

Whoo Hoo, way to go! I ran my second 10K yesterday and my time was also 1hr 8min. I ran my first 10K about 6 weeks ago and my time then was 1hr 10min, so I improved by 2 minutes. Not bad, and the second race also included a bridge that we had to run across twice.

Well my plans for 2014 were to do the Tink and then the W&D to get my C2C... then they come out with a pink C2C medal and now I'm like... gotta do it!! LOL!! Thing is, was planning on having that much time in between races to save up enough money, now it really is crunched in time!! Still trying to figure out if I can afford it :upsidedow

Speaking of finances... when will RunDisney finally tell us the prices of the races?? :confused3 We are only a few weeks out from registration!!

Tink is showing 175 (holy crap) + 265 = first born

$440 yall. $4-4-0

Plus airfare, hotel, park tickets, food, souvenirs for the kids. Sigh! I love me some bling though. At least I am not doing Tink. But I will admit I thought about it with that pink coast 2 coast medal!

guhhhhhhhhhh

That's a good chunk of the cost of my airfare.

How are they able to price it SO HIGH? If the half is $160, and the 10k is $95, what could possibly cost ~$200 extra to make it so expensive to do both? Just the experience?

At any rate, is it possible to register for just the half, and add on the challenge later?

Am I crazy for wanting to attempt this 5 months after having a baby? It might be crazy enough going to Disney with a 4yo, almost 2yo and 5mo....

I just really want to have a goal and do something just for me after this surprise baby arrives. Running through Cinderella's castle sounds amazing.

DisGin,

My baby will be 4 months during the Princess. It is not my first half and I still can run albeit slow now that I am preggo. But no you are not crazy. I plan to hit the ground running literally in December with training and that should give me 10-12 weeks to train back up.

I was thinking of getting the race retreat for my hubby so he can keep the baby there and when I finish I can nurse and eat lol!! Sounds lofty but hey this race is my favorite and a girls got to do what she has to do!!!
Hope to "see" you around. And again not crazy at all!!!

She means $440 for both Tink and GSC. GSC is rumored to be around $265.

Probably not. The GSC is going to sell out if DDD and Dopey are any indication.

Woohoo! Way to go!

My theory.... The new "pink" C2C was added to alleviate the number of racers earning C2C at Disneyland Half weekend in Sept. The races at DL are capped out so they can't add any additional runner spots but they can persuade people to attend the other events.

If the half is $160, and the 10k is $95,

Wow, and that is just for one person. My dh and dd are going to run the PHM with me. I think we are only doing the half and that is still a lot of money. Luckily we live in South FL so we can drive up. But we still have to budget for gas, hotel, food and race merchandise!

And let's not forget the race retreat -- its $200 for GSC:scared: Wondering if this means there will be a RR for the 10K too?? If not, what's the extra $80 for?:confused3

I know, I know!! It's for the pink flip-flops, the towel and the mimosa!! :rotfl:

Do those who have done the race and gotten the retreat really think it is worth it? I will hopefully be doing the GSC. My sister will be doing the PHM with me. I was thinking of getting her the retreat and surprising her with it for Christmas or her birthday. But then obviously I'd have to get it for myself too:) Need to know its worth the cash when I'm already spending a small fortune. And any guess if I need to get it all on registration day? Does the retreat sell out? I was hoping to plunk down my expected $300 with fees for the GSC and then add the retreat later when my bank account has recovered...but don't want to miss the chance to sign up.
