Calling all Princesses! (2014 Princess half marathon board)

I could have sworn when I signed up that the kids races said 10:00. I see now that it says 8:45. Am I crazy? Did anyone else see 10:00? Worried about getting to kids races after 5k. I guess it doesn't matter since its at Epcot and not WWOS like I thought it would be.

CRUD!! It DID say 10am. DD6 and I are signed up for the 5K, then the whole family for breakfast, then DD3 for the Kids Races. How on earth do we do all that now?? It was tight before...

Something just crossed my mind.

The next town over is doing a 13k (what a weird distance, lol) in a couple of months. Do you think I could potentially use a time from that since it is more than 10k?

I plan to submit a 15k time after a race in September- probably fine as long as it is 10k or greater.

Thank you! Glad I am not crazy! I need to have my mom get my daughter over to Epcot since I am doing 5k and won't have time to go back to get her. Signed my son up for 5k and 1 mile because I thought he would have time to rest. Not as much time for him now.

I'm a bit confused about the timing of the 5k and kids races. 5k is at 6:15, kids races at 8:45. Both are at Epcot correct? Or am I reading something wrong? I was going to sign my dad up for the 5k, but clearly I'd want to see him finish. My kids are looking forward to doing the kids races, have been for a long time. It's seems to me even if the 5k took an hour for him, he'd be done by 7:15, 7:30 if he got a late start. Wouldn't that be plenty of time for us to get to kids races? Or are there other factors in completely unaware of as a first timer at a RD event?

Yes! I submitted a time from a 6.66 Mile race last year. :-) As long as it's at least 10K, they'll take it.

Anyone save the corral placement times from last year? I think we got something that had the cutoffs for each corral, but I can't find it.

The kids races were at WWOS in the past. So originally that was my concern. I realize they are at EPCOT now. Thought I would have time for my son to rest in between 5k and 1 mile but now there isn't much. And my mom has to bring my daughter to me as opposed to me having time to go get her.

Bottom line... You should be fine.

Were you in Cap City or Emerald quarter marathon? Such a unique distance I had to ask. LOL.

Hmm, well I guess at least we can hold out hope for general public discounts? :confused3

They also told me No Discounts :(

I just called to book my room and they transferred me to the Run Disney line. My total for AoA for 2 nights was $416 !!! :scared: Wow !!! Any idea how I can get that lower? I thought I was doing good by picking a value.

Between the cost of the races, the room and airfare it looks like I need to start selling Plasma LOL.

AoA is the most expensive of the values - would you consider one of the AllStars or Pop instead? Especially if you're just staying in a standard (Little Mermaid section) room.
If you need the extra space of a family suite, they have those at ASMu too and I'm not certain but I'd imagine they'd be a bit cheaper.
Please don't start selling plasma just yet!!! :rotfl:

:confused3 not sure why they (wdw reservations line ?) transferred you to rundisney line that's weird ?

Why not just price it out on the website yourself? I just took a look and using 2/22-2/24/2014 it was about $101 per night at POP didn't book it but may consider staying on site after all re-thinking the driving to the morning of

Don't sell any body fluid or parts just yet :rotfl: I would pick a resort when you can put down a deposit and hope for general public discount its far enough away for pixiedust:

i tried to do that this morning and it wouldn't let me. gave the standard "reservations only until december 31st" spiel even though i followed the rundisney princess half with the new dates link.

I tried that too and it said no rooms available. I know there is plenty of time, but I need to make sure that we can get a room because we don't need to add having to rent a car on top of everything else if we had to stay off property.
