Hey, nothing for me, just recovering - suppose to take a few days esp after you PR an event.

I will do a 3 or 4 on Thursday after work.

Joan - I'm right there with you. By next Jan I will have done 7 Half marathons. I feel like I want to do a Full soon, before my body parts really start falling apart. I will be 40, so I am thinking a full at 40 would be good. Then back to the halfs which I really like and don't cause my arthritic feet hurt too much.

Hi guys! Have been absent for a while, now really starting to gear up for this race!!! My roommate and I did 2 miles (outside! in the cold!) this morning at 0445...whew! I'm just recovering from a nasty nasty cold/flu that kept me down for an entire week (ugh) so my training schedule is a bit behind, but I'm hopeful that by race day I'll be all set!

I'm a little disappointed since the tiara I wanted to order is unavailable ($7.50! It was beautiful!) since I'm not going to buy wholesale...anyone having any luck finding sparkly headgear?

Well, i can't run in a tiara, i think i sweat too much for that.. LOL
But, i am going to buy one of these:

There isn't a bus from Saratoga Springs for the Princess Half. There are only buses from 3 of the resorts and I don't remember which ones they are. Anyone else with the info?

Wow I didnt know that was the case. Let me do some checking but sure I would be interested in splitting a cab.

Morning Ladies! Home sick today. Can't seem to shake this chest thing and I have no voice. Can't talk + cough = hard to talk to patients. That and I am running a low grade fever. Needless to say I didn't run this morning. After the drugs kick in I may get on the TM for a slow walk. I feel like I need to do SOMETHING!

Stacy, I only have one thing to say about your monorail ride... DH has promised me a stay at the Poly when we go for Marathon weekend next January!

BTW- Anyone in for the Donald or Mickey next year. Possibly Goofy???
Both DH and I are running Donald poss Mickey. Haven't decided yet. I have 4 half marathons next year so I may want to do a full by January.

hmmm.. i am not sure yet. I guess i will see how i feel after THIS 1/2.. Personally, i don't think i will ever have the desire to do a full.. I don't even know if i will do another 1/2. LOL It may just be a "at least i can say i did it once" kinda thing.. LOL
I would love to do a different race though, like the ToT or the Race for the Taste... Can't do anything else in 2009 though, my vacation schedule is already set.. But, 2010 is up in the air..
I am sure once we are on our post race high after the princess, we may have another race booked by the time we leave though..LOL
That's what happened last year, and look where it got me! We did the 5k, and then we were so pumped up after, we signed right up later that day for the princess 1/2!!! LOL

Depending how I do at the Princess, I think I want to collect some Half marathon medals for awhile. I'm not sure I need to do a Full.

Plus for me, if it's anything to do with Disney.... then I'm a go!

I just talked to someone at Disney regarding the party and there will be no parade but they are trying to make it as special as they can. I think we are going to get a refund on this event. We are passholders so it doesnt pay me to send the extra money if it is just extra hours.

And UPDISNEY I am calling SSR today to see if they can set up a cab. I was thinking of leaving at 4:30 am. Does that work for you? Plus I need to find out how my family can get along the course and then to Epcot t see the finish.

Yea, I am SO disappointed in the Party change. I guess Disney feels the need to cut WAY BACK in spending. DHS is probably cheaper to staff then MK, and with no parade... fewer staff needed again.

Unfortunately, DHS is really my least favorite park. They create this inaugural Princess event.... then ship us to DHS? It just doesn't fit.

I'm thinking about the 1/2 at Disneyland in September to get the Coast to Coast. I guess I should check to see if it is already full. My plan when I signed up for the Princess is that this was a stepping stone to the full next January at Disney. I want to run a full at least once before I'm 50 (I'm 47 now).

I'm thinking about the Coast to Coast, too!

Stacy: Me and the DH are up for the meet at POR. The only tricky part is we're not leaving until Sat. morning and we'll still have to get our race package, etc. so might be later getting there.

I checked out your headband thingy. You always know where to shop. Did you notice the crown one is a hat, not a headband?? Hat might make me too hot I think. If I were doing the hat though, I like the I run so I can eat one!

I looked up that website, too. Really cool. But if you search under "tiara," 2 headbands come up with the hats. A black one and a purple one. So they are there, and I'm definitely getting one.

Although for the race, I'm still going to try to wear the kid's tiara I found that says PRINCESS on it in big letters. I just don' t know if it will make it for all 13 miles.

Lauren, no.. the crown is a headband - their headbands are 4" wide or so..

They are under the headband catagory - with the sayings. They were at the Minnie expo last year, hoping they will be at the Princess expo too! But, i am going to get one now anyway, just in case!

My mom was bugging me to do the Coast to Coast too - but i don't want to take another week of vacation, and Cali. is a loooong way to go for a weekend!! LOL

That would be great to know. I would also like to know what attractions will be open. I can't believe that they are still going to charge $40 for a ticket to the party. The last 2 races the party tickets were included and to buy more it was only $25 per ticket. Does anyone know what time the party will be? We made ADR's based on the org. party, now we will have to change that too.

Yes you can get refunded. When I was talking to them I asked. You have to call and request the refund. 407-938-3398. Follow the prompts. I had to leave a message but she had said in our conversation that they were gathering info for those who wanted to be refunded. I left my name and phone number and the message that I wanted a refund.

I also found out that SSR and the other resorts that wont have buses use Yellow Cab Company and they run 24 hours a day. You can call ahead or wait until you arrive to set up a cab to pick you up for the morning of the marathon.

Thanks for that info!! We will hold out and wait for more info on the party before we decide a definate answer to go or not.. We may just still go since the money is already "forgotten" about.. LOL And since my mom and sis will only have one day in the parks (besides the party) we may just go - so that they can get on those rides (assuming the good rides will be open!) and then they can use their one day passes at another park. ( Me, dd, and MIL all have annual passes)
