My DH is doing it with me. He said to "bring on the pink t-shirts" when I asked him! LOL

Lauren I love it!!! You hubby is the best!! My DH is looking at having knee surgery sometime after the first of the year so no running for him!

HELP..I'm planning my 25th anniversary and Princess half week. I still need to register to run, but....How much are they charging for park tickets for those that are registered to run?
I'm working out details of the 4/3 resort deals and DH time then DD coming to run. Thanks in advance.

hey all dont know if this has been asked?
what time do you need to be at the starting place for the 1/2?
also clothing? i assume at 6am its going to be a little chilly in Fl.. dark at least...?
can you bring clothes and then store them somewhere at the start line to pick up after the race, or do you need a friend/spectator to hold them for you?

Sorry its my first disney run! looking for advice

jyl, Hi! Not sure what the weather is in March, but i am sure i will warm up fast.. LOL But, yes, you can bring a bag and check it at the bag check tent at the start. As for what time to be there -- that is a personal decision, i think my last race, i was there about 20 min. early.. i don't want to be too early, but don't want to be late either.
I would say for the princess 1/2 i am going to mabye plan for a good 20-30 min lead time at least.. i can warm up at the start, but i need to stretch and just walk around /meet people to wake up and work out the nerves.. LOL

Joan, not sure on the park pass price, as far as i know, they weren't offering a deal with passes like they did for the minnie --
however, they were offering the discounted P&P party tix. instead.
I have an AP, so i don't pay much attention to that... sorry!

JYL I took a towel from my room to wrap around me while waiting for the race to start. I just left it at the start as I figured it belonged to Disney and they would pick it up, wash it and return it to a room.

For those of you who have registered, did you get anything in the mail? I would love to have an entrant packet or something to make it feel more real!:wizard:

My DH isn't into running but he is doing the 5K with me. I think it is cool that your DH is going with you. My husband would probably go for the "pink t-shirts" too. He is a good sport like that.

Hi Team,

A few people asked about arrival times, the weather, and clothes. For the January events I like to arrive as early as possible and get to the front of the holding area for the walk to the corrals. That way I can get to the front of my corral - since I am slow walker I need all the extra edge I can get! Getting there early makes some people nervous so you have to decide what will work best for yourself.

I've never been to Disney in March, but in January the weather is very unpredictable. The key is to dress in layers. For the wait before the race a lot of people wear throw-away clothes. Disney collects the tossed clothes and donates them. You just have to be sure that the throw-away stuff is easily removable. You can also check a bag, but then you won't have the clothes for the wait in the corrals. That works best if you don't arrive too early. Some people use garbage bags to keep warm before the race - a disposable rain poncho would work as well. I usually bring a garbage bag to sit on while I wait.

An important hint - don't wear or try anything new on race day. That is not the time to find out that something chaffs or pulls!! Or doesn't agree with your stomach!

I can't believe how quickly March is going to be here! Happy training everyone!!

WoW! Lots of chatter on this thread these past several days!!

Castle? No big thrill to me...I know, I'm just not a big MK fan! :duck: I was looking forward to going through AK. I love that park. But, I think that a run through the castle for the Princess is fitting... Just wish it didn't come at the expense of AK.

Cross Train? Okay, this will sound lame, but I am just doing Wii Fit!

HungryGreenHippo--where are you doing the 10K? I am doing the 10K Turkey Trot in Cincinnati.

My training is a bit slow lately, largely due to a cold I can't seem to get rid of. My long walk is 8+ miles each weekend. I guess I will try for a 12 miler prior to March.

You won't get anything in the mail. They started with the DL 1/2 this year of emailing you your race waiver, which will have your race (bib) number on it. You print that out and bring it with you to the expo to get your "stuff", The commemorative program you get at the expo in your goody bag with your shirt and stuff. They don't mail these things out anymore. Right around the time the waivers are emailed they usually will have the program available to see online and/or downloadable as a .pdf file.

:-( Sorry to bring you bad news,
Tracy

Thanks Pat for all the info! I remember my first race and how scared I was that I was going to miss something or do something wrong.

Chrsitine I feel ya with the cold thing! I have been battling the one I have for 3 weeks now! Running in 30 degree weather probably is not helping the situation much either. :headache:

I checked out disneysports.com new website (which is really nice) and noticed they removed all descriptions of the course.

If you click on "Event Details" in fact, this is what you see:

"Keep checking back for race instructions and more information on Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend.":sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Yep, saw that this morning too. I have already given them my money, the least they can do would be to give me some info!! :headache:

has anyone booked at the POLY? and would share the room night discount per night with me?
i might save up and splurge to go there instead of All star... at least for one night!!

The Turkey Trot I'm doing is in Anthem, AZ.

There's a page on the official site that gives discounted prices for park tickets, but you have to enter the code they give you when you register. (On the site under Travel Details, go to the Theme Parks page.) My code from the Expedition Everest Challenge still works, but I don't know if they're the same as the prices for the Princess. Hopefully someone who's registered can check it out for you. To give you a general idea, here's what I'm seeing with the Everest code.

Magic Your Way Base Ticket
1 Day $46.94
2 Day $98.59
3 Day $128.63
4 Day $159.62
5 Day $186.85
6 Day $196.23
7 Day $204.69

Magic Your Way with Park Hopper
1 Day $59.15
2 Day $111.73
3 Day $141.78
4 Day $171.82
5 Day $199.99
6 Day $209.38
7 Day $216.90

Thanks hungrygreenhippo. Guess I'll just have to register and find out. Waiting now as DD #1 thinks that she might like to run too. DD #2 is ready to go.
