Hi all,
I registered and booked my flight and hotel, and signed the kids up for their races.:cool1: I am so excited to do this, the rftt was so much fun and I loved the energy of the crowd. I look forward to seeing everybody in March!! We are staying at OKW, that's DH fave place and he is the only one not running so he picked the resort;)

Got my Princess Disney Endurance newsletter email. Featured princess is Belle.

I got the email too. I called last night to see if there were any better rates for my 5 night CBR stay. I can get one night free with book 4, but I have to buy at least a one day base. And, when I subtract off the price of the base, it works out w/i about 10 bucks of what I am paying now. I don't need the one day base since I have an AP. So, I am not bothering to change at this point.

My training has slowed down a bit this week since I have been sick... I am looking forward to a 10K "turkey trot" here in Cincinnati on Thanksgiving morning.

I haven't signed up for the race yet (waiting until it gets closer to 75 or 80% full). Did the newsletter contain anything new that we might not have heard yet? Thanks!

No, nothing new in the email that i could see.

A Princess Diary

Disney's Princess Half Marathon
March 6-8, 2009

Welcome to the Princess Diary! Within these pages you will encounter one of our beloved princesses and through her discover the royal features that can be found at the 2009 Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend.

Princess of the Month
Belle is as lovely as her name implies, but her natural, unaffected beauty is far more than skin deep. An intelligent, avid reader, Belle yearns for faraway places and exciting adventures.

She’s a loyal, loving daughter and when the beast finally wins her trust, she gives him all her kindness and patience and then realizes she has also given him her heart. With her inner strength and outward beauty, Belle is a young woman who can – and does make things happen.

Utilize Your Strength
You have the strength to run as Belle does, you must know others that have that strength also. Have them embrace their inner princess and accompany you in the half marathon. The race has reached 60% of capacity, so have them sign up today!

Time Change
Without Mrs. Potts there to wake you up with your morning spot of tea, you’ll have to remember that time springs forward the night before the Half Marathon. So remember to set your clocks forward before getting your beauty sleep!

Resort Feature
Do you yearn to visit far off places? Then staying at Disney’s Polynesian Resort will fulfill your desires. Stay at a tropical paradise that celebrates the spirit and hospitality of the South Pacific. This enchanting lakeside resort comes complete with white-sand beach, thatched roofs, swaying palms, koi ponds, volcanic rocks and more than 75 species of indigenous vegetation. Relish the unimaginable splendor of Polynesia as you settle into a warm welcoming world that celebrates "Ho'Onanea," the passing of time in languid tranquility. Satisfy your longing and book your stay today by calling 407-WDW-IRUN.

Attraction Feature and Theme Park Tickets
Follow your adventurous side to the Magic Kingdom® Park and be serenaded by Mickey’s Philharmagic! Experience all the Disney Characters you love in a whole new dimension, including Lumiere and Cogsworth! This rollicking, frolicking 3-D "sym-funny" of surprises is guaranteed to delight the whole family. Purchase your theme park tickets today to experience Philharmagic and all the other Disney Theme Park attractions!

Volunteer
Are your friends and family looking to be a part of the Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend without having to run a single race? Then they should sign up to be a Sports Enthusiast! Sports Enthusiast opportunities are now available for Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 8, 2009. As a volunteer you will receive one commemorative piece of apparel, one meal per shift, and the opportunity to receive a WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort 1 Day (1 Theme Park) ticket. Check the website for more details!

Coast to Coast
Hear ye, hear ye, princesses from near and far. Join Disney’s Coast to Coast Challenge for the ultimate test of endurance! If you complete both Disney’s Princess Half Marathon and the Disneyland® Half Marathon in the SAME calendar year, then you will receive an additional medal commemorating your achievement. Caroline's Wish
Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Read about one of the wishes they have granted.

Everyone who knows 4-year-old Caroline calls her “Super C.” That’s because she seemed to defy all the medical odds with a smile. When she got a chance to make her heartfelt wish come true, Caroline decided to go where everyone smiles as much as she does — Walt Disney World® Resort. Click here for the rest of the story.

Who else is just sick with wanting to do this?? Of course after I get done with the Princess I may never want to walk again. But right now it just seems so dang COOL!

Mom and I are considering doing the coast to coast, because Disneyland is about a 6 hr drive or 1 hour flight for us and after the Princess we're already halfway to the medal. We could just pop down and do the DL half and come home!

Hey everyone! I just got off the phone with Disney Sports and WDW travel and rebooked our trip with a savings of $90.88 plus a $200 gift card thanks to the buy 4 get 3 free.
Disney Sports with 6 day park hopper:$1677.44
WDW travel with 7 day hopper:$1586.56
Still at Carribean Beach. Now if I can find a cheap flight and get rid of my sore ankle and my cold I'll be set!

A lurker chiming in here... I am planning on doing the Coast to Coast. I will be turning 40 a few days after the Disneyland race so it is the perfect 40th birthday gift!!

I will do the Coast to Coast probably in 2010. I just did it this year because it was the inaugual. It's expensive to me to go out to CA. This will be one of those go on the even years things. hehe

Tracy

Hello,

I am brand new here and to running and decided to choose this as my maiden voyage into races/runs!

I am curious as to what i should expect to spend on a hotel? I will not have my children (and maybe not even my husband) and am looking for something close (right there would be preferred) and not crazy expensive. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Hilary

Pure: Welcome to the Dis and to our thread. I'm glad you're going to do the Princess 1/2 with us. As far as rooms go, of course it depends. If you're just doing a quick weekend for the race call 407-WDW-IRUN for the best rates. They have something available in each catagory. If you're making a vacation out of it, they have some great deals right now but you'll need to call the regular Disney reservation line.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: I GOT MY WISH SHIRTS!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Pure, welcome!!!
As for rates, you can find everything for every budget.. I am not going to get into what our rooms costs us - concierge MK view at the Poly.. you don't even want to know.. LOL But, that's what disney-o-holic mother in laws who love deluxe are for.. LOL ;)

Thanks guys!

I did a lot of research last night. I will keep searching. I plan to get there the morning of the 6th and leave the 9th, but if it is that much cheaper to go the 5th I will do that. Is Cornado or Port Orleans French Quarter better? They both seemed to be rated about the same on expedia and travelocity. They are about $200/night. IS $200/night the cheapest I will find on site?

Are you all on the facebook group (Disney Princess Half)?

i didnt know there was a facebook group? could you post the link?
im signing up today for the race!! i did a 6k run this weekend for charity and actually came in 2nd in my age group! my first medal!!
i just have to work up the distance!

hmmm... it will not let me post a link, but if you go to the search on facebook and type in disney princess half marathon and then click groups tab you will see the group.

Sorry for all the questions.. Do oyu all think the party is worth it? How about the Pin? Can I buy those (pin and party pass) when we get there?
