We are #1059 and #1060 in the 5k. Yay! Will we be near each other even though he's pushing DD in the stroller?

I've looked through the official website and still can't figure out what we do Sat. morning. I have printed the waiver and it tells me to go to the WWOS Friday to pick up the packet. Will that tell me the details?

Also, do you think they will have the special Mickey ears on sale there? I might get one for DD if so.

Only 2 weeks left. Yay!

Diane: Wow, you learn something new everyday! For 3 years I've been telling people they would have to use a ticket! Oh heck, just as well......the MK is always a highlight even if I don't have family there. I would rather them be somewhere else and give me another location to look forward to. Spread the joy around. 26.2 (or 13.1) is a long stretch.
I also never knew about the monorail at the Poly not running to the MK. We always ask for a longhouse close to the TCC because it makes it so much easier to get to EPCOT. This year we didn't leave our room until 4:30. It was a 2-minute walk to the TTC where we just hopped on the monorail, used the bathroom outside of EPCOT, and walked to the start line. By the time we got to our corral, it was literally minutes before the start. It's not that I get to sleep late......I just need at least an hour to get ready! My daughter is out of bed and out the door in 5 minutes, but my old body moves alot slower....in every way! ;)

Jeanne, I hear you on spreading the joy :thumbsup2

Vettechick! Hi!!! The 5K should be line up at the pace you will run. So you can line up with your DH back with the strollers and be together even if your bib is lower than his. If you are staying at one of the 3 Disney Host hotels there will be a bus to the 5K start.

They should be posting the Final Instructions for both the 5K and the Half shortly. I looked at the ESPN 5K and they posted their final instructions on 2-13-2008. so I would guess the Princess instructions should be up shortly. When you go to the Princess website they should put a link in that Bullentin Board box on the right of the screen. Plus they should sent out an email newsletter letting everyone know it's posted.

Also keep any eye here, I'm sure with the excitement building that somewhere it will be posted here too :thumbsup2

The Ears... I am hoping they have some for sale at the Expo because I didn't order mine either. :sad1: But I wouldn't promise any one that they will be there because of the wording, I'm learning towards they won't be there. But I keep hoping. BUT!!!!! Did you know you can now BUILD mouse ears? I didn't realize it till my Jan trip. I somehow missed they started this. The Hat place on Main St has them and I'm not sure who else. But you could always build a special hat for your little one :) I'm sure it will cost a lot more than the Princess one was costing but there you go LOL

Have a blast in the 5K with your family! We'll all be around too but it's way cool doing it with your family. The memories of that day will be warm fuzzies :goodvibes

Hi guys! Just checking in from the hotel at Foxwoods - We had a crazy overnight.
Found out via my dad calling last night, that the house 2 doors over from my mom's in MA exploded last night - natural gas. The house is leveled, and a woman was killed with her dog inside. They evacuated my moms street, so it's good she was here, or she would have ended up at the shelter for the night!
I called the PD this am, and so far they aren't letting my moms street back home yet, so we are hanging out here - that and my gram was taken via EMT's to the hostpital here today for chest pain - she is ok - but they are keeping her for overnight observation.
Sooooooo.. this overnighter has turned into a lil more than i had bargined for.. but please keep everyone in your prayers!
Here is the local news with the house explosion incase you are interested..

Promise i will get those mickey heads done this weekend!! It was just too crazy here last night! LOL

Omg :scared1: Thank god she was with you last night.
Sending  and :wizard: that you mom will be allowed back into her house soon and that your gram is better soon too.

The Princess 1/2 will be a holiday after this.

Holy moly, glad she's allright! I bet you can't wait to get to the Princess now!

btw, can anyone tell me (a novice, I admit it!) what TTC and TTR (?) are??? I probably don't even have those right, but others are talking about good places to view the race and I'd like to share that with my friend who'll be cheering for me!

Thanks again for doing the logos, I'm sure you have had other things to worry about!

Blimey, i'm very glad your mum was with you. So sorry about her neighbour tho and your gram. Hope she's feeling all better very soon. You're def in my thoughts, it's always good to have an extended mum stay :)

Ok TTC is transportation and ticket centre which is the main parking and monorail hub for the magic kingdom. Unless you're on a disney bus you have to catch the monorail from here to the entrance of magic kingdom and you can also get one to epcot. Not sure what TTR could be sorry

Anyone else finding this last slog quite hard work?!?!? Everything's sore but pain is good right :rotfl: 14 miles on sunday then a low week before princess run. Did 6 miles of speed work on TM today so i could monitor pace a bit more. felt good to be at full pace and i WORE MY BONDIBAND! Wasn't princess one it was 'will run for chocolate'. it was great, stayed in place no problem and my forehead felt very supported :lmao: Keep it up everyone

I'm finding the end challenging, my muscles feel stiff, as if I'm getting slower and not faster:sad2:

Wow, very impressive to be doing 14 miles, I'm not there yet.

Hmmnn... sounds like maybe I can skip out on the face lift I was thinking about and just wear a bondi band everyday!

:stitch2: Monday Mixers w/ Team 'Ohana :stitch2:

I thought I'd let the Princesses know that Team 'Ohana is inviting their WISH family to come visit its thread on Mondays. We thought this would be a good way for people on the teams/threads to get to know other WISHers better. Plus, 'Ohana like to think we know how to throw a party and we always like new guests! The drinks are free, if virtual, and no one will tell you when you've had enough. :upsidedow

I'll post a reminder on Monday, with a loose question/discussion topic to get the conversations going. There's no need to stick to the topic, of course, as it's really your sparking, non-alcoholic but still intoxicating presence that is requested. So, if you have a little time for socializing with your cousins, please stop by 'Ohana on Monday! :goodvibes

P.S. We know that you've got a race coming up soon, and might be experiencing a little taper madness and concentrating on your upcoming races. Still, all the better reason to bring that madness over to 'Ohana. We're all a little mad there!

Sorry if this topic grosses anyone out, but hopefully it's not any worse than the blister talk...

So I learned at my first 1/2 that its a good idea to have toilet paper and hand sanitizer or wet wipes on hand in case of a shortage. However, I'm wondering if this is really necessary at a Disney race. At EEC it was very well organized and IIRC there were even portable sinks set up for hand washing. Is Disney this well-organized and prepared for larger races? Or should I pack some wet wipes just in case?

I leave for WDW in one week! :cool1:

:cool1: It's me, the one with the shin splints. I'm not sure if you can see me doing my happy dance. Just stare at your monitor for a little while and I'm sure you'll see me. After staying on the couch for one week with an icepack and watching "The View", I couldn't take it any more. Even though my leg hurt a little, I had to go for a walk. I walked a slow (17 minutes) mile. No Pain!!! Tomorrow, I will try two miles. While all of you are tapering, I'm going to try rebuilding! Hope the blisters are gone and my shin splints stay away. Excuse me now, I need to go ice.

YIPPEE!! All of us have been wishing you well. We knew you'd be back!

Thanks, TTR was my bad. I actually read TTC & TCC and now realize the person who wrote that probably just had a typo!

I'm struggling with these past few weeks. Long mileage, cold weather, nagging cough, aches and pains... I'm relieved to learn I'm not alone (misery loves company I guess!). I've got a 15 mile run on Sunday then I start my taper, but still have my strengh training and bootcamp for another week. I hope I'm not overdoing it?

Glad to hear about the bondiband working out! I just ordered 2 of them (thanks 2BoysMom!). Anyone know if the gal will confirm the order? I sent her an email but haven't heard back all day (YES, I'm excited!)

Caitsmama! You are having quite the time of it! Oh my! A boat load of PD :wizard: coming your way. Hope things quiet down and your Grandma is feeling much better and no issues. Scary!

Bathrooms?!?!?! Let's see. At the start, a ton should be at staging, on the course near water stops(?) (i'm going with Jan here!). And of course the MK! Now in jan the one in Tomorrowland was closed for refurb so I saw people heading off around the Carosel and someone told me there was a bathroom accessible somehow going thru Cosmic Ray. There are the bathrooms in Frontierland too. REAL bathrooms! :goodvibes I'm quite worried that a certain visitor will be around so I am shooting for the REAL ones :thumbsup2

I have never used the real ones on the course so I can't comment on lines. But behind the MK where the water stop is should be a couple of porta potties.

The course review might not have good times to catch but they typically will go over this. I will probably catch the course review in the hopes to hear what is all planned out for us and then my plan is to do the Meet on Sat at Port Orleans Riverside for dinner so hopefully between all of us we'll get a hard confirmation that there will be porta potties at the water stations ;)

Queen Mimi! It's GREAT news your off and doing miles again :thumbsup2 Sending positive thoughts to you that your shins behave :)

Smileyk8 & 2BoysMom.... :lmao: on the forehead support.

Joan??? I do believe it was YOU that mentioned the Joe's New Balance.... I caved today and ordered 2 skirts. One is the more royal blue in the hopes it will compliment the WISH green shirt. :thumbsup2

Other news I picked up a new water bottle holder, hand held at New Balance. They ordered it for me at the store and I have yet to find this specific one online. It's number is HBP1225E. On new balance express they have a similar one (1224E) that has a pocket that looks to be the same size but no bottle. The one I picked up today will hold 4 GU packs in the pocket. Nice size pocket! Cost $15.00 came with a bottle and I also tried it with a Dansi type bottle and gives a bit more room. The handle is something too. There is velcro so hopefully the grip won't loosen. My Nathan constantly needs tightening (but I still lubs it!).

Oh... New Balance Express has a new skirt that has some printing on it. Couldn't find it locally today. The blue one has 2 white panels sewn in that have royal blue & GREEN flowers. If you check out Running Skirts (under buy skirts) they have the 3 new Princess skirts pictured.

Everyone have a GREAT weekend with training!!!! :cheer2:

OK completely been off exercise lately buuuut I am #80 bib for 5k with stroller. This should be interesting. :0)

I would be prepared - just in case. I have needed to go to my emergency stash using Disney facilities before, but really plan to use the flushing toilets in MK, but it is best to be prepared.

During the full in January I ran into one bathroom in MK (I didn't even know there was a bathroom there) and there was a huge line so I ran back out. I remembered the bathrooms in Frontierland when I went by so I ran in there and there was an empty stall so I ran in and ran out (pretty much) and didn't have to use a porta potty - yuck I can't stand them.

Hey gang....we are getting so close!!!!!

Weather looks like it is going to be alot nicer then Marathon Weekend was:thumbsup2

Read a little of the pottie issues. I have found a few along the route as well a little off the track but find the womens still really lined up so ....sorry guys but I just go in the mens...as long as there is stalls don't see any issues.

Can't wait!!!

As I started reading this post I was thinking "Wow, this is a long post and this person has a lot of information." I should have realized it was my buddy who I've never met. LOL :rotfl2: I can't tell you how excited I am to finally meet you Diane. I love your long posts and all the info you share. I can't believe that I'm actually doing this and I owe so much of it to you. Thanks for the info but more importantly thanks for the inspiration!!!!!!!!!
