DH & I leave for Disney on Friday. We have 10 glorious days at Disney. I'm getting so excited. As I look out the window here, it is snowing this morning. Yuck! I need the warmth. I'll also get practice running in the mornings at Disney World before the 5k and 1/2.

Joan??? I do believe it was YOU that mentioned the Joe's New Balance.... I caved today and ordered 2 skirts. One is the more royal blue in the hopes it will compliment the WISH green shirt. :thumbsup2

Oh... New Balance Express has a new skirt that has some printing on it. Couldn't find it locally today. The blue one has 2 white panels sewn in that have royal blue & GREEN flowers. If you check out Running Skirts (under buy skirts) they have the 3 new Princess skirts pictured.

Everyone have a GREAT weekend with training!!!! :cheer2:

So I'm reading this post and thinking Princess skirts? I always run in a skirt (skirtsports gripper skirt is my favorite) but anything Princess HAS to be considered... and I go to New Balance.com but... no skirts there. :confused3

What is New Balance Express and Joe's New Balance? And how do I get there? Please tell:yay:

Thanks!!

I found this for New Balance Express. http://www.nbwebexpress.com/category.asp?type=WMAPSH

The princess skirts are at runningskirts.com If you go to the menu for "buy skirts" there is a section of princess skirts....they are so cute but I think I am going to wait until the expos as I am so confused on size?? :confused3

Sorry for the confusion.. The company is called Runningskirts.com when you get there put your cursor over the BUY SKIRTS tab and it will show the other options and from there you get to the PRINCESS skirts. They are in 2 colors and simply have a tiara on the one corner. They will be at the Expo.

Sorry about that! apparently my brain and fingers weren't all on the same track :surfweb: :)

adding in the link to Joe's Someone else actually found it and posted it and a couple of ladies here then ordered and I finally ordered last night :) so there has been some positive experience with them so far as I know. I've ordered from New Balance Express a few times even a replacement pair of shoes that I had already and have always had good luck.

One last quick word on the New Balance skirts, they have a seam up the back. I have worn them training and figure for the races the photographer had better not be getting a photo of my tush so the seam is no big deal. But still, not a place I would have put the seam, my old Target skirt doesn't have a noticable seam like that.

Those are exactly what I've been looking for. Why couldn't these have come out sooner. I think I'm sticking with my shorts and tank that I've been practicing in.

Ah Ha! Lutherlover had it posted! Somedays my screen drives me nuts, I went to read her post and .... well popcorn:: i really really need to look at a new computer :surfweb:

Vicki? Where are you staying? I arrive on the 4th at CBR. Can't wait to catch up with ya! We'll expect a full report on the weather if possible :thumbsup2

We are staying at Boardwalk Villas from the 27th - 4th. Then we are moving to Saratoga Springs until the 9th. I'll be taking my laptop and will be on the thread probably every day so I'll keep you all posted. I'll be practicing in the mornings and will let you know how it's going.

Wow, that was a first, 2 hours on the TM. That's it on LR. Now, nothing more than 6 miles. DH and I are leaving next Sunday. He leaves to come home on the 5th and the DD's fly in that day. They are getting excited about our day MK and our character breakfast Saturday morning. I didn't do the Princess b-fast as it was more expensive and earlier than we wanted.

Joe's new balance outlet has great prices and they did have no shipping when I order and it only took 2 days to arrive. I love my new skirts and I thought I loved my old skirts, but the new balance are very nice.

Hope everyone's final training goes well.

just wanted to confirm that there are always porta-potties close to the water stops so that the people working the stops have a facility nearby.

2 hours on TM? You are a superwoman!! I can barely make it through an hour.

Have you run in the NB skirts? Or the ones from RunningSkirts? I always wear the kind with a short underneath, but have found that most of them (Brooks, Nike, Adidas) roll up my thighs (problem with chubby thighs!!). Only the gripper skirt from SkirtSports doesn't do that. I'd like to try these other ones, but wondered if anyone has used them without "roll-up"?

btw, You are all awesome! I joined these boards this past week and have been so impressed with how quickly everyone answers questions and how much info y'all have to share! Thanks!

I have tried the NB and they do roll up but it's not horrid. I am wearing them for short runs. I have old and "new" RunningSkirts. Old ones were great. The ones they make now... They roll up IMMEDIATELY on me. They have VERY little lycra in them. (They claim they are "new and improved" I thought they were "new and cheaper to make")

I do have two pari for Skirtgodess.com that are wonderful. I have run two halfs in them and those shorts did NOT move. However, I know at least one poster on WISH who had fit issues so.... I am hoping they are at the Expo!

OK. Another skirt question.

Those of you who wear running skirts, are any of you on the "fuller figure" size or are you all skinny minnie's? I say that with love, and no false modesty please.

I love the idea of a skirt, but think it might look ridiculous on me....

Truth, now....

Well, just in case anyone was looking for the perfect "purse" for the Princess, here ya go....

Even comes in purple. :rotfl:

HELLO.. I'm 5'10" and wear a size 16. I would say I'm definitely on the "fuller" side! That said, I've run 1 marathon, 3 1/2s, 3 15ks, countless 10ks and hundreds of training miles -- almost ALL of them in skirts! I like that they give me a little more coverage than just compression shorts, and I don't like regular shorts because they bunch up when I run. I just haven't found many skirts that work well... I'm still trying though!

5'4" and size 16 pants. I'm only saying so because I think we lost the attention of the guys on the group long ago :lmao: I DO wear a compression short under my skirts even with the built in shorts they have. I never have a problem with the two shorts. The compression shorts I wear do end up getting pulled down around Mile 8, but I think they don't do it as much as my regular running shorts. Which by the way I like baggy so I wear the mens Target mesh looking and those things were going north today on the TM LOL

I like how I look in the photos better in the skirts. Even if the compression shorts are heading north, the skirt is hiding it :thumbsup2 I do put on body glide on the thighs.

LIZ!!!! :cutie: love the 'purses'

I don't know how those of you who work on the TM for so long do it. I just finished 6 miles between the ellip machine and the TM. My gym only allows a 1/2 hour on the TM. So I split between the 2 machines today and that was the 1st time I've ever spent 1-1/2 hours solid on those 2 machines back to back. UGH! It's 25-ish out and snowing again here in MI. I can't wait for spring.

These are my Jan photos in my Target skirt. So definitely not a skinny minnie LOL

I'm back. I had to go get a massage to support my son's golf team. They are giving 15% of the sale to the team. So you see I HAD to. It may be the best massage I have ever had. It was their "Signature" a combo of things. I've never done hot stones before, some of those stones are HOT!:scared1:

Skirts-well I'm just a tad over 5' 7' and wear a size 8 or 10. The medium New Balance skirts fit nicely. I also have a Nike skirt-just threw it out as it is over a year old and funky. I have a Target skirt-starting to get funky. I have a Reebok skirt, an Aspire (Got it at Sports Authority0 and two New Balance that I just got from Joe's. One is the Bonita style and the other Flare. They all have attached shorts under. I think the New Balance and Nike were most like compression shorts under skirt.

Gottta go work on dinner.

Yes, I do like those purses-very cute.

Don't liike the TM, but hate the cold more. Look forward to more outside running.

:worship: :worship: Thank you, thank you, ladies. I, too, am 5'10 and about a 16. I think I will have to look into a skirt.
And Diane thank you so much for sharing your pictures. They were so cool, and you looked great in them. I had definitely been wanting to see some former race pics. Great!:thumbsup2
