Calling all POFQ resort free dining experts

Ok, so to all of you who have stayed or stayed regularly at POFQ with the Free Dining code (late summer time) in the past help me with a couple of questions.

1. What type of rooms were available the day of release for the Disney Card holders (if that applies to any of you)

2. What type of rooms were available the day of release for the general public?

Of course I want the cheapest room available, but I doubt that will happen. I mean at this point we don't even know if they will be a Free Dining 2013. If standard is not going to be available, I would hope garden view would be. I really don't want to have to pay for a water or river view room.

I booked our Oct 2012 POFQ FD trip with a pincode.....but when the GP FD came out, I got online that morning just to see what was available. And yes, Garden View was available - at least for my dates Oct 3-10. Standard View was not (or may have been, but got snatched up quickly).

However, when I typed in other dates surrounding our trip, Standard View showed availability.

In my experience, even though a room category shows no availability, it doesn't mean it won't pop up a few days later. Book the Garden View and keep checking the website to see if a Standard gets added. I usually have more luck on Monday mornings.

We stayed at POFQ with Free Dining back in August/September. We booked a Garden View room and once there we were actually upgraded to a corner room with a river view out one window and a pool view out the other window. Plus we got all of our requests. #2332...Best room ever!!!! We overlooked both the pool slide and the boat dock.

I'm not sure if standards were available since we wanted a Garden View. I think though that POFQ was quick to sell out of many dates.

It really was our dream vacation just because of the awesome room and of course that we were picked to open the Magic Kingdom on 9/2/12.

We stayed at POFQ for Thanksgiving 2011 with FD. We called the day the promo was announced to add FD to our existing reservation. We got a standard room, and were pleased with the location: building 7, 2nd floor. It was so quiet and right next to the water. Enjoy your trip!
