Calling All Petite Princesses Week Of 9/15

Have you tried keeping some sort of antipasto plate around for snacking? Or maybe snack on veggies, make a small salad with some sort of protein?

Well, THIS is why no one was posting on the other thread! :headache:

Will you (WE) be doing weekly threads? Poor TiggersPal, she'll never find the thread, I'd better let her know.

OK, I've just completed five days on BistroMD and am LOVING it. The food is much better than I expected. I did call and have them put 'no oatmeal' on my substitutions list. I did TRY it...but, guess what, I still hate it. :lmao: I"m loving the variety, it's much more varied than anything I'd be cooking for myself. I'm doing the 5 day plan (with snacks) so I'm on my own for two days. The plan is to cook one great dinner with leftovers for lunch one time and then be able to eat a lunch and dinner out (as dining out seems to be my main source of socializing with my friends).

Here's my stats:

I'm 58 (for about six more weeks) just a smidge under 5'3" and my 'official' starting weight was 260, this past Monday AM. That's an all time record high folks, though it was preceeded by a four day visit to DL! I am an experienced dieter and I know what works for me...it's just doing it. Don't you find that our lives would be so much easier if we just "APPLIED WHAT WE KNOW" :confused3 Don't know why that seems so difficult, I guess because it often takes some attention and effort, the two things I run out of much more easily these days (work sucks it out of me I guess).

My goal is 150, at which point I will regroup and see where I want to end up (think the 'charts' put me at about 130-135).

My main motivation is health (get a complete physical next week...expecting the doctor to smack me around a bit ;) ) and the fact that I want to enjoy Disney for another decade or so. I did a lot of hobbling around at Disneyland two weeks ago and my friend got a wheel chair for me one afternoon so I could stay and play with then well into the night. Don't want to be doing that again.

Now I'm heading back to page one to catch up on how all of you have been doing!

.

I'll be the first to start on this thread. My weight loss has sort of stalled this week, but I did get good news. Last Oct I had blood work done that showed I had high cholesterol- total 232. We (my DH and I) started our jogging routine in Jan and I'm trying to watch my diet so I figured it was high time to recheck blood work and see how things were going. Well, apparently even though the scale isn't moving, something is going right because my total cholesterol is now down to 175 :cool1: . It gave me some motivation to keep going even if I can't physically see the results, something is clearly happening....

Congrats on those greatly improved numbers. I'm a little nervous about what mine will be when I get it checked next week. My eating habits over this past summer were an abomination! Pretty much living off of sausage pizza, hot dogs, french fries, gyros, ribs, pastrami sandwiches, with only the occasional grilled piece of good meat and salads. (Hence the all time record high in my previous post.) Getting that HDL/LDL in the proper ratio is one of the most important things any of us can do. CONGRATS! :thumbsup2

havent gotten on the scale yet.... Musta lost weight with all the funiture moving I did. Trying to make my room acceptable or guests

ibounce, your menu sounds good to me (ribs, pizza, fries...)! :rotfl: I'm doing WW so I'm making sure I stay within my allotted points. It's hard; I can empathize with you on knowing what works, just doing it!

flying, when is your official weigh-in? Mine isn't until Monday.

So far I've lost 3 pounds. No measurements gone from my hips, though. :headache: Argh!

I'm typing and watching my 8 month old destroy the living room. Sheesh. You'd think I'd lost some weight just nursing and constantly grabbing him away from stuff! :rolleyes1

I think weekly threads would be great! We could even put a link at the end of the previous weeks thread to the following week's thread. I've been doing ok with the gym. I try to do 60 min of cardio 5 days a week, but some weeks it gets cut down to 4 (like this week). My problem is more my eating, which I am also trying to improve upon.

Potential suggestions for previous posters: if one sports bra doesn't work, layer two. I used to have to layer 2 bras, when I was a full double D. Now I'm between a D and a double D, and I use Nike bras (not cotton) which tend to work pretty well.

Even sugar free, diet soda is not good for you. If you can try to avoid all sodas as the fake sugars in them make you feel empty and more hungry! Water, crystal light, and fresh brewed tea with no sugar (or a splenda substitute) are great alternatives!

I haven't considered layering sports bras but I guess that could be because I only have one!
I'm still nursing so right now I'm still a 38F; usually I'm around a 36DDD. :scared:

I have a diet soda once a day with dinner. Most of the time I'm drinking water or Wyler's SF regular and pink lemonade. It's surprisingly good, especially with lemon slice and extra lemon juice!

I confess I am a diet Coke addict, although I am trying to cut down. I did quit entirely when I was pregnant and nursing, but have slipped back into old ways over the past few years. I'm now loving the Crystal Light "on the go" packets. I mix it with a huge water bottle and sip at it all afternoon at work-- cuts down on my diet Coke and makes me forget I'm not snacking (there is food everywhere at work... too many temptations).

Weight loss isn't happening, but at least I'm maintaining at about 156-157. I am a stress eater and have a huge recertification exam a the end of this week :scared1: , so I'm trying not to worry too much about my diet until after that is over, I'm stressed enough...

Well, Ill weigh in on monday.. I tell ya I drink alot of diet soda. I have one regular soda a day at lunch. I should do better when I start working on monday. Low carb pizza, diet jello, and a soda for lunch.

My first official weigh-in is tomorrow morning, too. I'm actually pretty nervous.
:guilty:

Just did my weigh in. Down 3.5 for the first week. :woohoo:

Now I have to go make my breakfast....waffles! :thumbsup2

Congrats to everyone for surviving another week of trying to eat healthy! :grouphug:

Hey everyone,
Sorry I've been MIA. I had such a good week ending on 9/19 - I lost 3.8 pounds that week. Then I gained 1.8 last week (hubby just got home from Afghanistan and I think I partied too much, lol).

So I'm back on track as of yesterday. I've got to get busy so I can get my weight down before Christmas. We have a trip to Vegas planned and we are leaving on Christmas Eve. I want to be down at least 15 pounds by then. That is only 5 months each pound, which is totally do-able and maybe I can even do 20 pounds by then if I'm lucky.

Well, I lost 3.4 pounds this week! Yay! :cool1:

First of all, thank your husband for his service and thank you for your sacrifice!
I'm sure you can drop at least 15 by Christmas; you'll probably drop more than that. You can do it! :cheer2:

Where is everybody...did we start a new thread?

Official loss at the end of week two = 6 pounds! :woohoo:

Way to go ibouncetoo!

I've been MIA - got sidetracked and wasn't eating as clean as I would have liked.

I've also given up the scale, so I'm going to be tracking my progress in pics. Not sure if I'll post them here or not.... I don't want to scare anyone away.... scared1:

But I'm back on track this week, and I already feel better!

Well, my official weigh-in today, I lost 1.2 lbs. So I've lost a total of 15 pounds so far.
Not so great on the measurement front, though:
Last Week This week
Waist 33.93 Waist 34.5!
Abdomen 43.12 Abdomen 43
Hips 44.62 Hips 44

I managed to exercise almost every day last week, so my goal for this week is to do at least 15 minutes of exercise daily.

WTG, ibounce! :wizard:
