Baby food and alcohol??? Hmmmm - quite a combo! :rotfl:

I usually BYOB because I can never find anyone who likes Guinness. :drinking1

Morning Liz and Carissa,

I guess all the other Nuts are still in their Shells

Never tried Guinness, never really drank, but I'm thinking about taking it up

You like Guinness too??? :worship:

Nat made a Guinness cake recently and shared the recipe. I'm going to try it someday.

I love Guinness! I saved a bottle and I use it as a bud vase for flowers...

And I'm not adverse to mixing it...Black and Tans, Black Velvets...

:rotfl: That kinda sounds like when I've said I've thought about taking up drinking as a hobby. :rolleyes1

I never liked beer until I was in my 20's and a guy I was dating kind of introduced me to it. I never in a million years thought I would like Guinness. I started out drinking something called a snakebite - half Guinness and half hard cider. A friend in Australia got me drinking them. And then I just started drinking Guinness by itself. I find it to be much smoother and less bitter than lighter beers. My dream is to go to Ireland one day and have one (or four) in a pub. :thumbsup2

I've heard of Black and Tans - what is it mixed with for that?

I much prefer Guinness on tap, but will drink it from the bottle if that's my only option. Can't stand it from the can though.

I didn't like beer until I met my best friend, a "beer snob." He's taught me what the good stuff is - no Bud for me! Unfortunately, we can't get the really good stuff around here. The "lowest" I like is Sam Adams. I kind of rag my boyfriend a little, since he likes Bud Light and Coors Light. At least he also likes the good stuff, too.

A Black and Tan is Guinness and Bass Ale. I think the Guinness is supposed to go on the bottom...can't remember offhand, though.

And I'm not a fan of canned beer either! Although there apparently are some of the really good ones that are canned; I just haven't been able to find them.

Liz!!! I think I've found my soulmate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously - for a while I had "Self-proclaimed beer snob" on my Facebook profile. :rotfl: These lips of mine have never and will never touch a bud. I always think it's so funny to see men drinking those types of beer and here I am with my Guinness. :rolleyes1

We could have so much fun watching the Sox/Pats and drinking some good beer. :thumbsup2

Well, I'm not really the sports fan, Jason is, but I'd certainly grab a (good) beer and sit and watch them with you! We'll have to keep him away from the Bud Light, though...

Last night I saw an empty Coors Light can in his kitchen. I almost fainted... :teeth:

Seriously, though, I've cut way back on my drinking. My cousin Matt died of liver failure in January. We are wondering, though...how does an otherwise perfectly healthy 32-year-old man die of liver failure when other people drink their entire lives and live to a ripe old age??? My alcoholic grandmother lived to be 79 (sober for the last 12 years of that, though)... :confused3

Sorry to hear about your cousin. :(

Yeah - I really don't drink much anymore either. I hate the reaction I have when I start drinking (even just one) - it's like I'm getting hot flashes and it's embarrassing if I'm out in public. And even though I'm less likely to get a migraine from beer than from other alcohol, it still happens sometimes. I had one sip of a Guinness at Disney World on our recent trip and that's the only alcohol I've had in weeks/months.

Thank you

You know what's weird with me is if I have one beer, I have a headache the next morning. But I don't feel it while I'm drinking it! However, on New Year's Eve, I usually have a bottle of champagne. I stretch it out over 5-6 hours, so I don't get drunk or anything, but absolutely no headache the next day at all!

I'm okay out in public as long as I stick to one drink and have it with food. A few times, Jason and I have gone to Ruby Tuesday's after a movie, and if I try to drink before I get my food, it hits me right away. I like the mojitos there - and on Saturdays, they're $4 because it's their drink of the day - but the last time I really wanted a Jack and Coke! Made sure I had food and took my time drinking it.

Happy Good Friday Nutters!!!

:grouphug:

I'll try to catch up here later :car:

You could always go to Jean's Museum, I'm sure she knows all the nooks and carnies to hide in...Uhm I mean do research

We're closed seasonally. It's freakin' CHILLY here Goof!
It's a house museum & we can't put antiques up against COLD walls~:headache:

Did anyone see Carnie Wilson's bypass surgery on TV? popcorn::

I thought I'd provide some snacks since there don't seem to be any around here.

Yummm!
I actually keep a jar of baby food around here. It's hidden. I whip it out when someone (mentions no names) starts acting juvenile & keeps that up until I cave & condescendingly bring out the baby food jar in front of him & saccharinely announce "Dinner's ready sweetie!"

I also have one of those Steve Martin Arrow thru the Head headbands.

Yeah.
Goes over real well :rolleyes1

:scared1:You MUST turn him Liz!!! I will give you a list of beers to get him started slowly until he becomes a worthy companion to you!

R&C has a wonderful menu of Guinness based drinks. I have personally tested them all. Even after mush intense research, I could not say I preferred one over the other. I think you all need to test them, too!:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

He is a worthy companion. Aside from the beer thing. I will be assisting his friend Mike with the turning...

See bolded...Starting early tonight? :teeth:
