Apart from the mini golf course at Vero itself, are there any nice courses in the surrounding area?
We want to try Vero at next trip, but husband keen golfer and worried there will be no where for him to play!!!!!! Please advise!

there are plenty of golf courses around vero beach, right down the block.
when you check in to vb they will give you a map, i believe there are 2 or 3 places on the map. we just got back 2 weeks ago, tomorrow morning i will pull my maps and info out and give you a better idea about golf in vb.

please post any info==DH was just asking yesterday if he could golf at vero. Of course it implied both are there golf courses close by and does he have permission to golf. ha ha :goodvibes

Hi,
There are many courses in the immediate and not too distant areas. Close to the VB resort are Sandridge (2 nice municipal courses) and Sebastian Municipal. Both are within 15 minute drive, inexpensive and nice, but not fancy courses. On the far South side of Vero is Indian River Club. This is a private club that allow Disney guests to play, very nice course, but the place is a bit, to say the least, stuffy. The courses I play most of all when staying in Vero are located in Port St. Lucie at PGA Village (www.pgavillage.com) There are 3 very nice courses, dirt cheap, designed by the likes of Pete Dye and Tom Fazio. They are run by the PGA of America, cheaper to play than courses half as nice and only about a 45 minute drive from the resort. I hope this helps. Have a nice trip!

I second what Steve says. We golfed at PGA Village. Very nice with lots of natural habitat. They are Audoubon (sp?) certified. DH played at Sandridge, but I didn't. He liked it. We didn't golf at Indian River, so don't have comments about that course.
