This is my last full winter day until Tuesday!!!!:cool1:
That means I have 6 days off!!!!!!:woohoo:
I love having my college employee home!!!!!:yay:

We were pretty slow yesterday at work, which is good and bad. Good, because I don't have any new orders to do today, and bad, because I really want the business. Today will be busy for my employee and I. We have 4 Christmas orders left to do, that we can't start them until my deliveries come in the afternoon. My employee said that a gentleman called last night asking us if we could do 2 things for X-Mas Eve, and she told him we could, so that means we could have 6 things to do. I'm so glad I have her with me to help with this stuff:)

Intermixed with the work at work, I need to take Sophie this morning to get groomed, got to Factory Card Outlet to buy some sticker books (Santa is bringing stickers in the stockings, and I would like the girls to have sticker books to put them in), pick up calenders at Office Max, make 2 batches of Nestle Toll House Pan Cookies and wrap the Santa presents :faint: I'm looking forward to this day being over with!!!! Kevin is home today, so he can pick up Sophie, but he's not feeling well, so I don't want to ask him to do more than that. It's more important to me to have him well for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day :santa:

Karen - I'm glad you liked the Christmas card:santa:
**I'm sorry to hear that Jim is still in so much pain :guilty: How did he hurt his back? Will your priest give the annointing of the sick whenever you want it? If so, maybe he would annoint Jim on Christmas Eve or whenever you go to Mass next. Our priest is really awesome when it comes to this - he will give it anyone anytime. I will keep Jim in my prayers to start feeling better soon:angel:
**That's great that you have some time off too:woohoo: Do you have anything planned? Monday Kevin and I are going to go to downtown Chicago and visit a museum and go out to dinner - alone!!!! I'm really looking forward to it!!!!:goodvibes

Well, the shower is calling me
Have a great day today everyone!!!!

Marc got a job!:cool1:
I'm so surprised that he was actually able to get a paying job so soon. I told him that while I was gone I knew he was going to be finishing his internship, and if he got a job before I got home it would be my dream come true. Now he doesn't have to have his parents help support him, and his stepdad will stop being an *** to him. ( marc was the youngest of 5 and only the 2nd to have his act together and be independent, yet his stepdad constantly made back handed comments and hounded him to get a job, even though. He worked overtime at the station)

Sry. Got to go to work. Bye!

Yawn.......so tired!!!!! :surfweb:
I went to bed at midnight last night, and here I am posting early in the morning :faint: I got everything done yesterday, which makes me very happy!!!! :yay: I was up so late last night, because I was baking my Toll House Pan Cookies, and then m&m cookies - yum!!!! After they were done baking, they had to sit and cool, so that's what kept me up the latest. While I was waiting for everything to cool, I started watching White Christmas - I've never seen it before. I didn't finish it, because I wanted to go to bed, but it's on DVR, so I'll have to finish it another time:)

Today will be busy too!!!!
I have many many manh chores to do around the house, go to work to give out Christmas bonuses, go to Jewel to pick up a birthday cake (Mac - I'm stealing your birthday cake for Jesus tradition:goodvibes ), get the girls and I ready for church, be at church by 3pm, in-laws come home with us after church (around 6:30pm), eat, presents, wait for the kids to go to sleep, Santa comes, and hopefully I'll be in bed by midnight :faint: This is always my longest day of the year.
How about you guys - what are your plans for today?????

CB - Congrats to Marc!!!!!:cheer2: This is really awesome news!!!! Is the job local?
**When are you leaving for home?

Karen - How is Jim doing? Continued prayers and PD for him:wizard:

Well, I'm off to start this very happy and hectic day:santa:
Merry Christmas Eve to all!!!

Merry Christmas!!

I hope everyone is having a blessed day!! We have had a great day so far! The kids got us up at 5am! They checked out Santa stuuf and stockings and then we opened presents. After the clean up, we played with some of the games (Roack Band and Disney Think Fast - both for the Wii). Then we went back to bed! Well, Sarah & I did! My parents and sisters will be coming over soon. We are going to cook ribs and have a cookout. It could become a new Christmas tradiotion. The family party went well last night and we had lots of fun.

Jim is feeling much better. Still not 100%, but he isn't using the walker anymore! Thanks you for you thoughts, prayers & pixie dust.

I am off to play Think Fast again! Bye!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to stop by to say MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope everyone had a wonderful day today!

Happy belated Christmas everyone!!!!!

I'm sorry I didn't check in yesterday, but things around here have been a little stressful. Kevin remained sick on Christmas Eve, but he still helped with getting things done like a trooper. Than Christmas Eve afternoon he slipped in our driveway, and fell flat on his back:eek: He hit his head, twisted his knee, it was not good:sad2: I had to run outside to help him up, because he couldn't get up on his own. He was so sore afterwards - he thought he broke a rib(s). It was terrible!!!! Then Christmas Eve night ALWAYS stresses me out, when we have to put out the Santa gifts - I wish I wouldn't get this way. But I'm always so scared that the girls will hear us and come downstairs, and I'm not ready for Katie to know I'm Santa:sad2: But we were able to get everything in the house and set out, without anyone knowing:thumbsup2

I didn't sleep well that night - I was up every 2 hours. When I got up the first time, I could feel a terrible headache coming on - I knew then that Christmas Day would be long (stress always gives me a headache - I hate it!!!!). Stephanie got me up at 7am, and then I told her that she could wake up Katie at 8:30am. Poor Kevin got up at 8am, and was so sore - I felt so bad for him!!!! As the girls were opening their Santa gifts, my mom calls - I knew this would not be good:sad2: She said her dog, Daisy, took a terrible turn for the worse, and she was going to the Emergency Animal Hospital, and was going to put her down:eek: She was crying and devostated, and I told her we would postpone Christmas - but she insisted that we didn't. Now my headache went from bad to worse, because now I'm so worried about her. Before everyone came over though, I went and laid back down into bed because I just didn't feel well. Everyone came over at about 1pm, and we tried to have a normal Christmas, but it was hard with all this saddness looming over us - afterall, we did lose a member of the family yesterday:sad1: Everyone left at about 8pm, and the girls and I got in our jammies and watched tv. So that was our Christmas!!!!

You know who had the best Christmas was Sophie :dog: She went downstairs yesterday morning to her stocking, and just knew it was hers. She worked at that stocking so hard, that she even put a hole into it. She would put her whole head into at times, trying to get her stuff out - it was hysterical!!!! She calmly pawed at it, nudged at it, and just worked worked worked to get that stuff out - it was so funny!!!!! She such a good little puppy!!!! :dog:

It is terribly icey around here - I mean TERRIBLE!!!!!!!:scared1:
At around 4am the police closed an overpass in our town, because a car flew off it, due to the icey conditions. When I took Sophie out this morning, I was nervous about slipping on the driveway because it is 100% ice:eek: I don't even know why I'm opening the store today - no one is going to come in:sad2: If I didn't have to work, I know I wouldn't go out today:sad2:

Karen - I"m glad you had a good Christmas :santa:
Ribs sound good - yumm!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes
**I'm so glad to hear that Jim is getting better - very good news!!!!!

Kathy - Good to see!!:goodvibes I hope you had a good holiday!!!!:santa:

Well, it's time for me to go get ready for work.
Have a great day today, and if you are going out, please be careful!!!!!

sandy - oh my goodness! How is your mom doing? What a rough thing for her. How is Kevin's back/knee/head? What a rough day for eveyone! I vote that you should have skipped the store and stayed home today! I bet Sophie was cute! How did Steph like the bell?

Yesterday remained mellow for us. After we all ate, ny parents headed home. We played lots of Wii. Sarah's boyfriend Billy came over last night and we all watched a movie. then he played Rock Band with James.

Sarah and Emi were at the mall at 6am! Sarah needed to do an exchange and wanted to be sure to get her size. They didn't have it so she picked a new outfit. They were back in bed by 7am! I took James to the sporting goods store where Santa bought his bow to have it adjusted, checked and arrows cut.

We are going to the fire station at 2pm to exchange gifts with my best friend's children. Our husbands work together so we can all meet there. After that I think we are going to a movie.

Have a great day! And Sandy - be careful!

It felt good to sleep in a little today:)
I actually would have liked to stay in bed longer, but I heard the rain stop, so I jumped out of bed to take Sophie out (we are getting alot of rain here today). As soon as we got back in it started to pour again - we went out at the perfect time!!!:thumbsup2

I"m not going into work today, but I won't be relaxing :sad2: This house looks like an A-Bomb went off in it:eek: The living room and one of the hallways is full of the presents we got, and all that stuff has to be gone through and put away. Plus, I have laundry to do, and a playroom to start cleaning - it will be a very full, productive day:thumbsup2

All the towns around here are worried about flooding again, which would not be good, because some people still haven't recovered from the last flood. Kevin said that our FD is prepared in case of flooding, but they are really praying it doesn't happen. These guys still are talking about the last flood, they don't need another one so soon:sad2:

Thank you for all the kind words about my mom's dog, and wishing Kevin well after his bad fall. I spoke to my mom and she took Daisy to a funeral home that cremates dogs, and she was so pleased with their service. She said they were as nice to her with Daisy dying, as if a human family member died - I was very glad to hear that!!!:) One of her dog club friends went with her, which I was also glad to hear. I wanted to go, but I had to work, so I couldn't.
**Kevin said he hurt worse yesterday, than he did Christmas Day. I keep replaying that moment when I saw him laying on the ground - it was scary!!! I was afraid to touch him in case he broke his back:eek: . Thank God he didn't break anything!!!!

Karen - It sounds like you had a nice Christmas Day:goodvibes
**How was your Christmas party with your friend? I bet it was nice - it's always fun being with friends!!!!:goodvibes
**Stephanie was very touched by the bell. I put a small note inside of it saying "May you always hear the bell ring!!! Mr. C. " Katie wanted to know why she didn't get one, and I told her because Stephanie was older, and that maybe she took a ride on the Polar Express last night, and then Katie did this:eek: Stephanie went along with it, and told Katie that she did, and she received the first gift of Christmas - it was a cute moment!!!! We did have another bell for Katie, and I'm hoping that Katie will be 10 or older when I give it to her, but I fear that she'll be younger. Katie is such a thinker, and is already asking questions about Santa, that Stephanie never asked. She's asking me why all the Santas she sees all look different, and how Santa gets the things that are in her stocking - Stephanie never asked this kind of stuff. So I will treasure every last moment of playing Santa, because I may not have to many more years:guilty:

Well, I should eat some breakfast and get this day started - I can't be in my robe all day, even though I would really really like that:goodvibes I hope you all have a good day today!!!

Sandy-so sorry to hear about Daisy. Please give your Mom a hug for me. Love, Grannywishes

Thank you!!!!!
I will give her a hug from you - thank you!!!!!
You are like my cybermom, and I appreciate you always being there with comforting words!!!

Have a great day!!!!

Today is Kevin's birthday and my MIL is taking the girls overnight:dance3:
We are going to celebrate Kevin's birthday by going out to dinner tonight, and then tomorrow Kevin and I are going to the Museum of Science and Industry. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, because I haven't been to MofSI w/o children since way before Stephanie was born. I'm one of those people that really loves to take her time at museums, and read alot, so going w/o the kids will be a treat.

Last night Kevin and I watched the movie Stepbrothers - it was so bad!!!!!!! Do yourself a favor everyone, and don't rent it - such a waste of money, and such a waste of 2 hours of my life. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a -5, so bad!!!!:sad2:

I got a lot done here yesterday - I was so happy with myself!!! I made some order in the family room, and got the majority of gifts put away. I started cleaning the playroom, which was a terrible terrible mess!!!!! It was both the girls and my fault, because we just kept throwing stuff in there. Finally, after I was done, you could see the floor, so the girls took their new bean bag chairs in there and watched a movie last night - the first time they've done this since the September. I still have a lot of work to do in there, because there are so many baby toys that need to be gone through for the garage sale, and many other things that need to be gone through and thrown away. Since these are chores that the girls can't do, because they would throw nothing away or sell it in the garage sale, I need to do it (which is fine, because when I'm in a cleaning mood, I get a lot done!!!:thumbsup2 )

Karen - I got your card yesterday, thank you!!!!:goodvibes Thank you also for the photo of your children, they all look great!! Your are very blessed!!!
**How is Jim doing?

Well, I have to go change some sheets. The girls got flannel sheets for Christmas and I washed them yesterday, so I'm going to put them on their bed for tomorrow night - they'll love them!!!!!:goodvibes

Have a good day!!!

It so doesn't feel like a Monday to me:upsidedow
I'm not used to being off work 3 days in a row - it's so weird!!!!!:upsidedow

Kevin and I had a nice night last night.
We went out for Mexican, and then came home for some leftover Christmas dessert, and we watched the movie, Righteous Kill, which was very good. I was releaved that this was a good movie after the bomb we watched the other night:laughing:

Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes for Kevin :cake: I will have to show him your posts:)

Yesterday I got out the Wii Fit that I got for Christmas. I really enjoyed it, and was working out with it for about an hour. I was in my normal clothes though, so I wasn't working out very hard, but next week, when my workouts start again, I will work more seriously with it :thumbsup2 (I'm talking about this as I eat my Christmas cookie with my coffee:laughing: )

Well, I need to go get ready for the museum - have a good day today!!!

Hello!

sandy - I am glad you & Kevin had fun! I love our Wii Fit. I don't use it enough. I need to get serious about going to the gym. I am going to make myself weigh in on Wed. I haven't in a couple of weeks & I need to see the holiday damage!

Jim is back to work and doing well. He still seemd a little stiff. Now I have to get him to go to the doctor. I think he should have his back evaluated to see if there is an underlying problem.

Have a great night everyone!

We had a great day yesterday!!!

We got to the museum at approx. 10am, and we stayed there until approx. 2:30pm. About 1/4 of the museum was closed off for refurbishment, which bummed me out, but I guess they have to do it sometime:rolleyes: We really took our time looking at the Christmas trees from around the world, and I read everything I could about them - I learned quite a bit!!!! I actually read tons of information yesterday, and I learned alot - it was nice not having the girls to interrupt me :) I was disappointed and shocked about their food area - we didn't eat there, but we passed by there to used the bathrooms, and to see the race cars, and there were people/families all over the place having to eat on the floor:eek: I told Kevin that I would be so mad if we had to sit on the dirty floor to eat our overpriced food:mad: There was even elderly people sitting on the floor - it wasn't right!!!!!!:sad2: I'm sure with as much as they charge for parking and addmission, that they can buy some more tables.

So at 2:30 we left the museum and went to downtown Chicago to park the car. We went to the Apple store, which was PACKED - no recession problems there!!!!! Then we went to The Disney Store, which was also busy - we bought nothing. We then walked to the new American Girl Store, which we really like!!!! We bought the girls a small something for their new dolls there. We then walked to Lou Malnati's which is a deep dish pizza restaurant It was a pretty long walk in the cold and wind. We ate to much there, and then walked back to our car :) This was our first visit to Lou Malnati's and we like it okay, but we agreed that we like Gino's East more (another deep dish pizza restaurant - you may have frozen pizzas of this in your local grocery store). Then we went and got the girls, and then came home to watch PoTC on abc - it was a good day!!!!

Karen - I'm glad to hear that Jim is back at work, and I agree with you about getting him to the doctor - he needs to get checked out ::yes::

Well, I gotta go get ready for my 1/2 day of work. My mom is taking Stephanie and Sophie to the dog club today, which I think is great!!! I'm so happy that my mom wants to continue going to the dog club with Daisy gone, and is going to take Sophie in Daisy's place - very nice!!!!!:goodvibes

Have a good day everyone!!!

Hi all!

sandy - It sounds like ya'll had fun! We watched the same thing on tv last night! :happytv: It was just me & Sarah last night. We had a very mellow evening. I am already dreading her return to school.

Does anyone have big plans for New year's eve? I think we will probably just cook out with family. Sarah is going downtown with all of her friends. They have a hotel room (my friend John is the manager so they got a good deal and he will look out for them). That way we don't have to worry about anyone driving. I am on call New Year's Day. I don't mind that being my major holiday for 2009. That way I can be off Thanksgiving & Christmas!
Our big family trip went so well this past year, that we agreed we should do it again. We will be going on a cruise next Thanksgiving!:sail: I am very excited. We will be sailing on the Carnival Fantasy. It's great for us because it sails out of Mobile. Pretty convenient! Most of the family is close, I have one aunt and cousin who will have to fly down from Arkansas. So I will need lots of cruise tips!
I tried to get off work Friday but the best I can hope for is a half day. I got Jim tix to the Sugar Bowl so we will be headed to New Orleans for the game Friday. I was able to get a hotel room, so we will spend the night and come home Saturday. Sarah and her friends are also going. We have two bowl games here in Mobile. The GMAC Bowl (1/6/08) which will have Tulsa and Ball State. We have tix to that (we get them free for the FD and the park). We also have the Senior Bowl which is a North/South thing. Like a show case for the seniors from lots of schools. After that we will officially put football to bed for a few months.

Have a great night!!

Good morning! I am trying to get back into my morning routine since the kids will eventually have to go back to school! Nothing new to say since last night!!
Have a great day and be safe tonight!

So....what is everyone doing for New Year's tonight?
We always have our family and a couple of friends over to ring in the new year :dance3: We also celebrate Kevin's birthday tonight, so this is when he gets his cake and also his bday presents :cake: It's always a fun night!!!!

Does anyone besides me have to work today?
I could of had today off, but I chose to not work Friday instead:) So now I have a 4 day weekend:woohoo:

Is anyone watching the new tv show Leverage on TNT?
Kevin and I are really hooked on it - if you haven't watched it, give it a try :thumbsup2

Karen - That's good that Sarah is staying downtown - that is the safest!!! Is she going with a large group of people? Have fun with your family tonight - do they stay until midnight? In the past everyone at my house stayed, but my MIL mentioned that her and my FIL and may leave early :confused3
**Have fun at the football game - sounds like fun!!!!:cool1:

Well, it's time to get ready for work
Have a great day today, and for those who are celebrating the new year - have fun and be safe!!!!!

hi!
Ive been reading everyday but not posting much because ive been so busy. I fly today! i went to mcdonalds with some friends last night to say goodbye. Then I got home and hadnt even started to pack because ive been so busy. I had to shower and pack and by time i was finished it was almost 4! It wouldnt have been that bad except the night before i had been up until about 3:30 then worked a horrible 11 hour shift. I was exhausted! 2 guests made me so mad i cried yesterday. when its really busy, it feels like the guests forget were people too. :sad1: officially the worst day ive had at work here.

so i have a few hours to sit around before my friend takes me to the airport. Ill be getting to CA about 9:30 and so ill probably be sleeping through new years again. the 3 guys that live in the house im going home to have been cleaning for me, so that made me feel a little better. 1 of them ive never met before so im nervous. Then probably thursday night or friday ill be going down to visalia to see my family and wel finally celebrate christmas together. im still stuck at december 22nd. Sry I cant wish you new years. haha

I got both of your cards a couple days ago! I loved the pictures. Its always great to put faces to people.

Karen- I found a name tag at work in the extras of an Ellena from mobile. I snagged it and figured you may like an interesting souvenier. haha

have a great day!
wish me luck on my flight home. I finally have to return to reality. itll be wierd to not have little touches of mickey and disney in my everyday life.

Happy New Year!!!

:rockband: :dancer: party: :jumping1:

So much for getting back to my routine!!

sam - I hope you have a safe flight. I am sure it will be nice to be home. I hate that people were ugly to you! Especially on your last day! That is a cool souvenier. I am going to send a link to the website to Sarah. I would love for her to spend some time at WDW!

sandy - I hope ya'll had a great party. We started dropping early so we did our toast with the eastern time zone. Some of us made it until midnight central time. It was very low key. I think eveyone is just tired from work. Did Kevin enjoy his cake & presents?

I worked today and will have 3 patients to see tomorrow (I'm on call). It's not too big a deal because we don't do anything big on New Year's Day. If I can discharge these patients then I won't have to work Friday.

See ya'll later!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!
I hope you all have a wonderful 2009!!!!

We had a fun night last night!!
While waiting for our company to come over, I played Wii Fit for 1 1/2 hours:eek: I love that thing!!!!! Poor Stephanie kept asking me if she could have a turn, and I kept saying, "Nope, my toy!!!":rotfl2: She finally gave up, and went upstairs:laughing:

Then when everyone came over, they wanted to try the Wii Fit - so that was fun!!! We had tons of food, so no one went home hungry, and we had a lot of good laughs, so no one went home crabby - it was a good night!!!!:thumbsup2

Today is one my most favorite days of the year, because I literally do nothing. After I'm done posting, I'm going to go put on my sweatpants, and go park on the couch all day:) I have a lot of leftover food items from last night, in the fridge, so I don't have to cook either:thumbsup2 Yep, today is a lazy day!!!! What are you all doing today????

Karen - Low key evenings are great aren't they?!?! Our party is pretty low key too, which I like:thumbsup2 We watched the New York ball drop, and then my in-laws went home, and then the rest of us celebrated with Chicago - so we were kinda like you guys:)
**Yes, Kevin did enjoy his cake and presents - thanks for asking :goodvibes

CB - Ahhhh......working with the public - gotta love it!!!!:) :headache: (2 smilies for that one). I had a customer a couple weeks ago that really upset my 17 year employee too (really upset her!!!). I'll tell you the same thing I told her, these type of people are so unhappy with themselves, that they want others, around them, to be unhappy like they are - it's sad!!!! When people start acting that way to you, you just get nicer and nicer to them, because these type of people get so mad when you are super nice to them, because they WANT an arguemnt. A customer will never complain to a manager that you made them mad because you were super nice to them:sad2: I love killing these type of people with kindness - I love watching them fume because you aren't giving them the argument they want - I love it, because they deserve to feel uncomfortable with the kindness, like they are making others feel with their meanness - Does any of this make sense??? Can you tell that I've had alot of experience in this area
**Have a safe flight home, and good luck with getting back to your normal life:wizard:

Well, I'm off to start my nothing day.
I hope you all have a good New Years Day
