sandy - We've been over Thanksgiving a few times. I love the lights and decorations! I think mom & I may do the Candlelight Processional. I have never done that before.
I find that I am very worried for our country. I truly hope and pray that Obama can bring all of this change without bankrupting the middle class and devastating small business. I don't know where all the money will come from! I know alot needs to be fixed here, I just hope he is the one to do it! I find I am uncomfortable with the "spread the wealth" concept he talks about. We would by no means falls into the "rich" category, but it sseemd a little socialist.
I do think that his election shows great things to the world about our country. We have come a long way! :thumbsup2

Good morning! I am up and going! I have to go into work early - again! There are early morning patients scheduled again. I will be glad when this week is over!

sandy - are ya'll settling back into the routine?

CB - are you enjoying your visit with Marc?

My employee (the new one) made me so mad yesterday. I had her scheduled yesterday, because Stephanie wanted to play basketball, and I needed to go pick-her up at 4:15pm. The employee calls me at 3:55 and says she is running late, because she got tied up at school, and that she'll be at work no later than 4:15. I wasn't happy, but I thanked her for calling me. At 4:25pm there is still no employee, and now Stephanie is calling me wondering where I am. I was so mad!!!! I called the employee and left a message on her cell that I wasn't happy, and now I have to leave the store vacant, and she didn't need to come in anymore that night. So I picked Stephanie up a 1/2 hour late, and then I had to pick-up Katie at daycare, which meant I had t leave the store for a little over a 1/2 hour - I wasn't happy!!!!!! It's times like this that I miss Kevin working close to home - I miss him being able to help me out with things like this. Oh well, we managed, but I hope the employee doesn't plan on doing this again, or she won't have a job:mad:

Karen - I hope your day goes by fast:wizard:

CB - Have the temps got better in Florida? We were in AK on Halloween, and I remember you saying you working in AK - were you there that day? If so, where were you?

Well, I gotta go get Stephanie up for school:teacher:
I didn't get up early today, myself, because I'm still not 100% from that cold I had before vacation. I got better, but never 100%, especially after I was walking around in the cold in Florida. Now I'm starting to wonder if I have a sinus infection:confused: I should go to the doctor too.

Have a good day!!!

Hi! I'm still at por but marc just left. I have to wait for my bus. We had a great time. We went to mk this morning and the Christmas decorations are up! Marc got to see the Halloween and Xmas decorations!

I had a very teary goodbye and am still getting over it.

Is anyone, besides me, sorta happy to see Christmas commercials on TV? I like Christmas commercials - they sound cheery, they look cheery, and they are not the normal ho-hum commercials. We DVR almost everything though, so I rarely see them:rolleyes:

My employee called me yesterday to apologize for what happened Wednesday - I was very grateful!!! I do like this girl, and I'm really hoping she's with me for awhile. She promised me that it would never happen again - I hope she's right!!!

CB - Hugs to you!! I bet it was very hard to say goodbye to Marc:guilty: When will be the next time you see him? Are you going home for Christmas?

Well, I gotta run and try to do a small workout today. I still have a headache, so I don't want to overdo it. Have a good day!!

Morning all!
sandy - I am enjoying the holiday atmosphere! I am glad your employee apologized! I know you were frustrated with the whole situation!

cb - I'm sorry your visit with Marc is over!

I joined the gym by my house. It's new and will open next week. I am hoping that with paying for it and how close it is I will be motivated to work out like Sandy!!

good morning!

we really did have a good trip and i will be seeing marc and my family soon. I go home the 2nd of january, so my trip is over half over. After seeing marc I am very home sick. I bought a thanksgiving platter and decoration for marc to take home to my family. That way my family has something to remind them of me!

Marc and I watched the last of the elections and mccains speech. the west coast came in at 11:00 and by the time obama came on at midnight i fell right asleep. We were both really concerned about prop 8 in california and the gay marriage ban and were scanning my phone to see the results.

I wanted to impress marc with this trip since its his first time. That way he may be more likely to want to go again in the future. All in all i think he took a big step toward being a disney fan. :rotfl2: He watched the magical express video on the bus and was quoting facts and info. He even got all the trivia questions right in our resort gift shop. :rotfl: I think he had a great time.

Marc didnt get there until about 1 am saturday night, so I sat in the hotel room from 4pm until midnight being antsy. Sunday we went to MK and just like I did, Marc started comparing it to DL. We went to the firehouse, space mountain, TTA, Monster inc. (one of my favorites), philharmagic, haunted mansion, thunder mountain, tom sawyers island, pirates. I actually think we did almost everything. We even got dole whips, and watched the fireworks. As soon as the fireworks were over I got changed into some nicer clothes and we went to the Grand floridian for dinner at Narcooses. We couldnt get anything for California grill, but Im glad because this was the best meal ever. It was relaxed and delicious. We were able to use 2 meals each on our dining plan and was well worth it.

On Monday morning we went back to Grand floridian for our picture session. I only had to pay $25 for the session and when I told our photographer we would use the pictures as engagement photos, he assured us that he was a wedding photographer. The pictures came out nice and we went all over the resort. After that we spent the day at EPCOT which ended up to be marcs favorite. He was always in drama in school so he was very excited that he was chosen to be in the skit in england. He was gallahad. It was very funny! We ate at tokyo dining and it was jsut ok. It was very rushed and they kept messing up my order. I asked for coke and I got diet, and When we asked for miso soup and tempura, they only brought marc soup. I couldnt get anyone to stop so I could say anything. I wouldnt go back since the sushi was just ok.

We did everything at AK and most things at HS. We had fun shopping in the star tours shop. star tours is our favorite! and we had to wait until 6 for our TSM fastpasses! On tuesday we ate at whispering canyon and i wouldnt go back. the food wasnt the best. We ate lunch/dinner at sci fi on wednesday and it too was just alright. My meat was undercooked. We watched fantasmic and agreed that were partial to our show at DL.

I think that Marc will want to come back and he was getting really into it. It was funny because he wanted to know info about everything and was watching the DVC channel and all. :lmao:

Have a great day!

It felt so good sleeping in this morning!!!!:)

I'm sitting here with a very sore left hand this morning - I drove a nail into the webbing between my thumb and pointer finger:eek: . I was using a brad gun while closing up a picture, and it slipped, and the nail went right into my hand. At first I couldn't see the nail, and I getting really nervous, but then I saw a tiny amount of it, and I was able to pull it out myself - thank God!!!! I wasn't in the mood to going to the emergency room :sad2: When the gun slipped, it also scraped up areas of my thumb, so that whole area had to be really wrapped up yesterday - not fun!!!!!!:sad2:

Not to much is going on around here this weekend.
I'm going to go to work for a short while today, and then tonight I may take the girls to see HSM3. Tomorrow I need to go to Sam's Club and get some things for work, so I have stuff to do, just nothing real exciting.

Karen - That's awesome that you joined a gym!!!!:) I wish I had a gym really close to my house, but our town doesn't have one. Maybe someday we will {{fingers crossed}}

CB - Sounds like you and Marc had a great time together:goodvibes !!!!! I agree about the food at Sci-Fi, we won't we back there:sad2: I've only had breakfast at Whispering Canyon, and that was good, but I haven't had dinner. We tried once, but I wasn't feeling good, and I sat in the lobby while Kevin and the girls had dinner. What did you eat there? I wanted to try the family style food on the menu. How much did you spend? I just can't get over how much the price of food has gone up there. If you spent alot of the 2 of you, then I know we won't be back there, because I won't spend tons there for the 4 of us:sad2:

Well, I best get going and get ready for work
Have a great day today everyone!!!!

If I wasnt able to get that discounted dining plan I would have considered the prices much more seriously. I think that at whispering canyon the entrees were about $20. I got the family style platter so i could try a little bit of everything. Marc got some sort of steak. The food was good, but there was so much and I was so full that we werent able to enjoy it. I basicall had 1 bite of everything. i think you definitely have to go there with a big appetite. to get the value.

Oh have you looked at the menu database on the Dis?
heres a link, since im here i bookmarked it so i can always look at the prices.http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningmain.cfm

It's chilly willy outside :cold:
It's hard taking Sophie out first thing in the morning when I still warm and toasty from my bed. The minute I set outside, I wake up real fast:laughing: I sure wish there was another way with her, but there just isn't. We thought about attaching a clothes line to a poll, and then attaching her leash to it so she could be outside for awhile. But I know, for a fact, that she wouldn't go potty without me. She would stand right by the door, with a look on her face, like she was totally abandoned:rolleyes: So, I guess I'm stuck taking her out. Stephanie trys to help, but Sophie doesn't take her seriously, and doesn't always potty for her. Sophie is getting a little better with Kevin, but generally, only if I"m not home. If he takes her out, and I"m home, she many times won't go for him either. Sophie is a real mama's dog

Well, it's time for me to start thinking about what to do for breakfast.
I'm thinking - French Toast sticks :scratchin
Have a good day everyone!!!

You definitly need to go there with a big appetite - that's how it is for breakfast too ::yes::.

Thanks for the link!!
I have looked here before, but I didn't realize they gave you the price.
I wish I would have known that before I left, or I would have avoided SciFi, and Kona Cafe for dinner. Oh well, you live and learn right!!!!

We went and HSM3 yesterday, and even though it's not my favorite one, I still enjoyed it alot. I was a little teary eyed at the end, in knowing this was the last one:sad1: I really enjoyed the HSM franchise alot!!!!!:)

Well, I'm off to start my day
Have a great day today everyone!!!

Morning all! Sorry I haven't posted! I read posts this weekend, but didn't have much time! Saturday I had to sort and bag all the candles from the park fundraiser for distribution (James was a huge help!!). Then had Emily and park cheer practice. That afternoon we had a football party (ROLL TIDE) that lasted in to the night. Yesterday Emi had her first competition with CFO. We spent the day in Pensacola (about an hour away) and came home late evening. Her squad took first place in their division! I then spent last night on the Vera Bradley website! My mom sent me a link from a thred and they have a bunch of stuff 60% off. I ordered some Dirty Santa gifts and even fornd $5 items for Emi to give to her friends.

cb - I am going to have to get some info from you! If you wouldn't feel stalked I would love to stop by the AK and say hi!

sandy - how is your hand? It's a shame Sophie is a mama's dog! I wouldn't relish going out in the cold either!

Holy cow - you hand a busy weekend :faint:
Congrats to Emily, and her squad, in taking 1st place - that's awesome!!!!:cheer2:

The hand is slowly on the mend - thanks for asking!!!:) I hurts alot, and that stinks!!! With the injury being in the webbing next to the thumb, it such a hinderence. You don't realize how much you use and area of your body, until you can't. I'm really babying it, because I use my hands 100% of the time in my job, and I need it to heal fast!!!!!

Good morning! We woke up this mornig to James wheezing and coughing. He's done a breathing treatment and taken some other meds. He & Emi are out of school today. I am going to work, but I will just have to tell my boss that if he gets worse I'm gone. I just called my boss and she said she will keep me in Mobile today and let someone do the patients further away. That way if James starts to feel worse, I am close to home.

sandy - speaking of your hand... do you have a current tetanus shot? I can only imagine how many times a day it bothers you!

Poor James :guilty:
How is he doing today? I hope he is doing better :wizard:
Were your kids home for Veterans Day?
Kids around here go to school on Veterans Day, and Stephanie's school does a big thing for Veterans - it's really nice!! In fact, Stephanie was a large part of planning this years Veterans Day program, because she is in student council. Monday night she asked me, "What do I talk to the veterans about when they come, because I need to talk to them" I told her, "just pretend you are talking to Grandpa (my dad) and you'll be just fine" When she came home yesterday she was very excited to talk about her day, and said that it was a big success:)

I don't remember the last time I had a tetnus shot.
What happens when you get tetnus?? I don't know.
I guess I could look it up online, but I'll just ask you :)

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work, so I can leave early for Wal-Mart. I need a couple of misc type of things, and I'm also buying everything for Stephanie's Christmas stocking. So I'll have one child down, and the other to go :thumbsup2 Luckily, for the 2nd year, Kevin never used his stocking stuffers, so I can just use those again :thumbsup2 (so he'll be getting the same things for the 3rd year). I never know if I should be happy or annoyed about this:rolleyes: I also need to buy things for Ms. Sophie :dog: this year -she will also get a stocking, but I will buy most of that stuff at the local pet store.

Have a good day!!!

I'm having a hard time getting started this morning:surfweb:

Stephanie had her first basketball game yesterday, and I'm so sad I had to miss it. My mom said it was very exciting, and that Stephanie was great!!! She made 6 out of the 8 points, and her team won when she made the winning shot at the buzzer:cheer2: (they were tied until then). When my mom brought her back to my work, she was so red in the face, and bursting with excitement - I have never seen her like this. She was so so excited!!! Hopefully, I can see her play today.

I found out yesterday, when doing my online banking, that there was an unauthorized charge on my debit account for $222.22:eek: I called the bank, and they cancelled my card, and I need to go to the bank this morning to fill out some paperwork, then the bank will "try" to get my money back. They better do more than "try" - that's a lot of money!!!!!! I called the company that this $222.22 went to, and they weren't open when the charge was made - this whole this is very weird!!!!! Wish me luck, because I wanted to use only cash this holiday season, and losing this money is not a good thing:sad2: .

Well, I have to go jump in the shower - maybe that will help wake me up.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

sandy - How awful about your card!!!! :scared1: That has got to be sooooo frustrating! Please keep me posted.

Congratulations to Stephanie!! What an incredible first game!:cheer2: I hope you get to watch her play today!
Sorry I didn't post yesterday! Tetanus can lead to lock jaw - but that's not too common! A quick call to your MD should be enough! They should know when your last booster was and if you need another one! I wasn't trying to scare you! After so many years in pediatrics I just always think tetanus shot with those kind of injuries.

:cheer2: IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!:cheer2:

I just love knowing that I don't have to fight about bedtimes and getting Stephanie to do her homework for a couple of days :yay: I have to work tomorow, but not all day, so that's awesome too!!!!:woohoo: Yep....I love Fridays!!!!!!

I have to get out super early today and get Sophie to the vet by 7am. She is going for her 6 month operation today :cheer2: Even though she never leaves my sight, and I know she could never have a dog date with another dog, it's a relief to know that she won't be able to have puppies, and not go into heat. The thought of Stephanie starting her period soon is enough to make me do this:eek:  I don't need to worry about it with the dog too:sad2:

I've officially decided to put Christmas tree #1 up next weekend :santa: I just don't want to do both Christmas trees the weekend after Thanksgiving - that's alot of work. I'm excited to get the tree up, especially this tree. It's in the room that we are rarely in, so it's not in the way, and it just looks pretty:goodvibes When do you all put up your Christmas tree?

I had good news from the bank yesterday. They told me to not worry, and they'll take care of. By the time I sat down to eat my lunch, the charge was gone (I look at my account online everyday) and the money was back in my account. I have a great bank!!!!!:thumbsup2

Karen - Stephanie's team won game #1, when I wasn't there, and lost game #2 when I was there. Steph was upset about the loss, but I told her that her team is going to lose sometimes - even the pros lose sometimes. I think she was more upset that her team lost when I was there, but I told her how great she played, and that there's always next time:)
**You didn't scare me, I was just curious. I think I"m fine though, because the hand is healing nicely, and is starting to feel much better:thumbsup2 The Raynauds in my hands is acting up terribly now, and that's what's bothering me more than anything:guilty: I had to sew down a white White Sox jersey at work yesterday, and I had so many band-aids on my hands that I looked like I slash my hands. I was so nervous about my hands breaking open and bleeding, unexpectedly, that I just took the precaution of putting a bunch of band-aids on. I need to move by you, and then I won't have this problem anymore:)
**I mentioned about me being nervous about Stephanie starting her period soon, and I just want you to know, that when that happens, you'll be my main person to ask questions to. I don't have any friends here that I'm comfortable with to ask questions concerning there DD's and periods. So I hope you don't mind me asking you, since you've been through it twice.

Well, I guess I should get going and get ready to go
Have a great day today everyone!!!

Happy Friday!

Sandy - I am sorry your hands are bothering you! That must be terrible to have to deal with pain in your hands when you use them so much! I hope everything goes smoothly with Sophie. Will she stay the night? I am glad you got to see Steph play. Feel free to ask me any questions. I have used the same approach my mom did - answer questions when they come up. I never tried to do one big talk. I did (and still do) bring things up in the car. Sometimes we hear things in songs that I ask if they understand and we discuss those. Sometimes I ask if they have any questions ( I do this with James too). The car is nice because if they are feeling awkward (or I am) your are looking at the road and they feel less weird.

We have a busy weekend. The football championships are being hosted at our park and as a board member, I get to be there all day! Then Sunday is the parkwide cheer competition - again all day!! This will bring the season to a close! We will have our team party next Saturday (I have some organizational stuff for that) and then the next Wednesday we fly to the World! :yay: :dance3:

:surfweb:

I'm up so much earlier on a Saturday than I would want to be:rolleyes: . I'm waiting for the Ice Mountain man to come and switch my water cooler, because mine doesn't work properly (the hot water spicket isn't working, and I use this alot). The times he may come is anytime between 7am - 12pm, so here I am, up, dressed, and wishing I could still be in bed. I can understand that they can't commit to an exact time, but I wish they didn't have to give me 5 hour window - why not a 2 hour window? :confused3 Oh well, nothing I can do about it, so I"ll sit here and wait.

Is anyone doing anything interesting this weekend?
We aren't doing anything special, but that's okay. Today I have alot of running around to do, and go to work for awhile. Tonight, I may rent a movie. Tomorrow, I may go to the mall to find Stephanie's Christmas dress, because the girls get their Christmas pictures taken the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and that's not to far away:eek: But we'll see what happens, because Kevin is painting Katie's room, and we'll need to put that back together.

Karen - Wow, you do have a busy weekend planned :faint: Good luck to the kids with all their activities :wizard:
*Thanks for not minding me asking you questions as Steph gets older. It's nice to know I have someone to talk too :goodvibes
*Sophie did stay the night, and it was nice having a puppy free night. I feel bad saying that, but I could get in my pjs early (I normally don't, because then I"m to cold taking her out before bed), I could wrap up in a blanket and fall asleep in front of the tv (I normally don't do, because I have to keep an eye on her so she doesn't have any accidents), I didnt have to take her out last night or this morning - It's been great!!!!! But, as much as I enjoyed my little vacation from her, I miss her greatly. She's so sweet, and she's so cuddly, and I do love her very much!!!! I'm looking forward to having her back today :dog:

Well, I gotta run and check my other threads
Have a great Saturday everyone!!!
