What a past few days I've had!! Thursday night I had to rush Kayla to the hospital. She started shaking uncontrollably and she threw up a couple of times. Well when we got there they tested her blood sugar and it was slightly high. So the ER doctor told us that they were going to transfer her to the local trauma center which has a good pediatric endocrinology unit.
So around 4 in the morning Kayla and I are in the back of an ambulance heading for the other hospital.
Her initial diagnosis is type 1 diabetes. Accompanied by anxiety attacks. As of this morning the aren't so sure about the diabetes thing. Her AI-C score was perfect. So we came home today and are treating her for mild diabetes until we get more test results back. Which means I have to give her an insulin shot every morning. It's so not fun.
So since Thursday I've had about 3 hours of sleep. So I apologize if this post isn't too coherent. I just wanted to update you all.
I'll post more tomorrow when I wake up!!

). We then checked into our hotel room at The Hyatt Regency and we had an awesome room on the 25th floor - it overlooked The Chicago River and we had a direct look at The John Hancock building. We rushed to change and freshen up because we had to get to our dinner reservations at The Chicago Chop House. After dinner, we took a cab to go see Blue Man Group, adn the show was fantanstic!!!! If you've never seen Blue Man Group, I would strongly recommend it!!!!
The screaming went on and on and on and finally 15 minutes later I called the front desk and requested that they call the room and tell the people to control their children, but by this time, we were already up - so frustrating!!!!
I couldn't believe those parents allowed that - I don't allow that kind of behavior in my home, let alone a hotel where others would be affected by it - it's the adults I blame, not the kids

The recital is Friday so I'm glad she is getting her strength back.
Kayla LOVES her some pasta and pasta is a carb fest - not good for diabetics!!

Than after the park, we came home, and the girls swam in the pool, and than we ate dinner outside - it was a really great day!!!!!
). I'm hoping and praying that the weather is nice, because we all want this to be a pool party, and if everyone has to stay in the house, that will be a bummer
She is beyond thrilled!!
But still unsettling that the doctors can't pinpoint what is wrong with her
Emily got picked for All Stars last year & she got to march in the Thanksgiving parade at DW (like I needed an excuse to go). She has really increased her tunmbling skills and was hoping to get picked again - this year would have been the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade!
