I am so glad this week is almost done! I will be spending the weekend packing!

Tomorrow is Emily's 13th bday! I can't believe she's a teenager - OK I know her and she is certainly a teenager! :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone!

I can't believe she's going to be 13 either
How long have you and I known each other?
Something tells me Emily was maybe 10, when we first met, and that seems like yesterday.
I hope she has a wonderful birthday tomorrow - filled with lots of happiness!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes
***Have fun packing - I love packing!!!!
It's the unpacking that always stinks!!

:welcome: Kelli!!! We are planning to visit Reedy Creek Fire Dept. too but not until December. You'll have to let me know how it goes!!

Sandy - I'm sure everything will fall into place for the 1st Communion party. Party planning can be hectic! I planned my niece's wedding..talk about a headache!! She told me what she wanted and then I had to go to her mom (my sister) to get the ok on the cost. It was crazy!!:confused3

Karen - WOW!! 9 days!! Lucky you!! I've never done the Pirate and Princess Party. We've done MVMCP and MNSSHP though. I bought a DVD of the P&P party. It looks really cool!! We leave in a mere 240 days:rotfl2: :rotfl:

Kimba
I can't imagine planning a wedding:eek:
That would really stress me out!!!
I need to get started with last minute things for this party - it'll be here before I know it!!

We live kinda in the middle northern part of IL, Central about an hour south of Rockford and an hour north of Bloomington. Starved Rock State Park area. Thanks for the welcome :)
I live in Indiana, that's why I wanted to know.
We are neighbors by state :teeth:
We have Chicago Dis Meets, and if you ever want to drive to one, you are always invited!!!!

Well, I gotta run and get Stephanie up for school
Have a good day today!!

Tonight I am doing whats called a "Ladies Night Out" which is sponsered by Stephanie's schools PTO. I'm going to have a couple of tables, where I'm going to set up a mini store. I'm hopefully going to sell alot of stuff, but most importantly, generate alot of awareness about the store existing, and what I can do. My insurance friend is going to help me, and I"m very grateful for that. I bought us both a dinner ticket, because they are suppossed to have a fajita bar there - I thought that sounded good :goodvibes So, please wish me luck, because I'm really praying for this to be a success.

Gotta run - have a good day!!!

sandy - lots of Pixie Dust from me! pixiedust: I hope things go well tonight!!

My boss offered me tix for the baseball game tonight. I think we will all go. They are going to have fireworks after the game.

We celebated Emi's bday. All her gifts were books. She is really into reading right now. It was easy shopping - all at Books A Million!

Have a great day everyone!

:surfweb:

What a long day yesterday!!!!
I hate the days that I'm home only to get ready for work, and then only to go straight to bed (which was at 11pm) last night - very long day!!! :faint:

Thanks for the good lucks, to those that gave them
I didn't sell tons, but I did generate alot of awareness, so that's good!!!!
Many said they were going to have to come in, because they had something to do :thumbsup2

Karen - Are you leaving tomorrow or Monday? I bet you are so excited!!! :cool1:
**Did you go to the baseball game last night?

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
The morning there is going to consist of putting my store back together, because I took 3/4 of it to that show last night

Have a good day today!!!

sandy - Ok so I scrolled back through the thread. My first post was 6/12/05! Emily was 10! Coming here has just become such a part of my ritual! I had no idea how long it had been! I talk to you more than I talk to my friends here in town!! I am glad things went well yesterday and I hope you get lots of orders!

It has been raining all night here! We went to the baseball game last night and the rain held off until after the final fireworks. The news just said we have had 7+ inches of rain overnight! :boat: I was a compliant parent & woke James up at 7:15 (sound asleep!) and had him at the park at 7:45 for his game! Wouldn't you know - NO ONE WAS THERE! No phone call, email - nothing!! SO I come home and find an email sent after we left!! All it said was games are delayed - not indication of what time to come back! I am so irritated!! I was happy we had the early game because I have errands to run! No way am I going to sit here all day! Ok - tirade over!

Off to start making lists!

What beautiful weather we are having!!! :sunny:
We intend on being outside all day today :thumbsup2

Karen - I thought Emily was 10 when we first met - so we've know each other for 3 years - how cool!!!! :teeth: I talk to you more than most of my friends too, and I look forward to it everyday
**I would be so mad about no one calling about the cancelled game. Some people are so inconsiderate!!!
**So are you ready to leave?? I bet you are so excited!!! :cool1: If I don't talk to you before you leave - have a fantastic, and safe trip!!! Have a good time at the Pirate and Princess Party - I can hardly wait to hear all about it!!! :cool1:

I best get going and start my day
Have a good day everyone!!

Ok so it was dog wash day here! :dog: :dog2: :dogdance: All 3 dogs have been washed, dried, ears cleaned, flea treatment on, etc... I'm exhausted!! I even got brave and clipped Fifi's toenails (she lives mostly inside). Then I got a shovel and rake and cleaned all the old, wet pinestraw out of Harley's kennel and treated it for fleas. Is it obvious I do not like fleas? Harley has a big chain link kennel inside the backyard because he is an escape artist. If you leave him unattended in the backyard he climbs right over the fence! So his kennel has 8ft sides. Since I treated the area today he will spend some time on the back deck.

sandy - We leave on Friday. It will be a busy week. Emi has cheer/tumbling today and Tuesday. Her big choral performances are Thurs. night and two during school Friday. She will have chorus practice after school Mon, Tues & Wed. James has a game Monday and will have practice Wed. All that and somewhere in there we have to get packed!! :scared1:

We were outside all day yesterday - it was great!!!! :sunny:
The girls weren't happy that there were some chores to do before playing (picking up sticks, and picking up rocks out of the grass), but I told them I'm not asking them to do anything that I didn't have to do as a kid. That didn't make them feel better :sad2: But they got over it as soon as they were done, and were able to do whatever they wanted:yay: :yay:

My daylillies are popping out from between the rocks, and I moved the rocks away from my hostas, and they are starting to show signs of life - that alone makes me feel like winter is officially over!!!! Oh, and our Cardinals are back:woohoo: and that definitly says SPRING!!!!! :flower:

Karen - I thought you were leaving today - I bet you wish you were leaving today :teeth: It sounds like you have a busy week ahead of you :faint: I don't know how you do it - I would be so stressed out!!! :faint:

Well, it's bedsheets changing day - so I need to get started with things.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

The 3 dog baths & cleaning the kennel have done me in!! My back is killing me! Jim is nearing the end of his pilot class and will take the test tomorrow. He needs some pixie dust! He is very nervous. I think he said it is actually 4 different tests. He has really been working hard. He has been on admin. leave so he has been coming home every night. It'd nice to have him home, but he spent most of his evenings studying.
Well, I have to run! I may try to check in this evening to give ya'll my packing update - I know you can't wait to hear!!!

Hello Ladies!

We had my DD's 16th birthday party Saturday night. It was all family with the exception of my next door neighbors. Unfortunately it ended with my DD in tears running outside:sad2: Turns out my nephew and my little sister-in-law (she's 12) started picking on the Jonas Brothers and my DD got her feeling s hurt.

DH went outside with her and I went in and yelled at everyone else:headache: My DD was afraid that this was going to happen because they always do this to her. My sister got mad because I yelled at her son - he's 14 by the way and practically LIVES at my house! Anyway, my older niece and nephew were also involved but they were sorry immediately and made sure I knew it (I should hope so they are 25 and 21!! They should know better:mad: )

My nephew ended up calling my DD yesterday and apologized. My bratty sis-in-law flat out lied to her mom and said she didn't say anything. Why can't we pick our family??:confused3 It would be easier:lmao:

Anyway...between shopping for the party Thursday, Cleaning and baking on Friday and then all the work and "fun" on Saturday, I spent all day yesterday in horrible pain and pretty must only moved when absolutely necessary! I hate those days.:guilty: I have so much to do and can't get it done. It makes me so frustrated!!

So that was my weekend!

Sandy: the birds have been growing crazy for weeks here! I love watching them!! We know it's Spring when the Mexicans start appearing at the farm worker housing in the next town:rotfl2:

Karen: pixiedust: for your DH!! I hate when my DH has to take tests. I think I get more nervous than he does!! How is the packing going??

Kimba

So maybe the dog wash and kennel cleaning weren't a good plan. My back started hurting last night! Then I drove over 200 miles for work today. I have spent most of the evening on the living room floor. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow!!

kimba - I am so sorry your daughter was upset at her party!! That is just wrong!!

Jim stayed after class tonite and took 3 of his 4 tests - He passed all 3!! :woohoo: :dance3: He will go back in the morning to do the plotting test. I am so excited for him. I am not excited that all the guys are out at dinner and I had to crawl to the kitchen to get dinner out of the oven! :rotfl: James put it all in the oven - it was just too hot & heavy for him to take out!

Well, back to the floor!

:surfweb:

Karen - Oh no!!! I'm sorry about your back :guilty: I'll send mountains of PD your way for it to feel better before you leave on Friday :wizard: Having a sore back at WDW would not be fun!!! :sad2:
**Congratulations to Jim!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I'm so happy for him!!!!

Kimba - I'm so sorry that your DD had a sad time at her birthday:guilty: I hope she had a good time on her actual birthday - how was that chocolate buffet???? Did your DD enjoy it???
**I'm also sorry to hear about the pain your in :guilty: I'll send mountains of PD your way to so you can feel better soon!!! :wizard: :wizard:

Well, it's time to get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!

I kept the heating pad on all night - one hour on/one hour off. Got up several times during the night to stretch. It is still sore, but doesn't seem as bad. Hopefully I won't have to do any long drives today.

Sandy - thanks for the congrats for Jim.

He is about to leave now to go take the plotting test. Once he passes all 4 he will submit that, proof of his EMT license and proof of the sea time he already has and then it is up to the Coast Guard to grant him his license. Getting his pilot license will make it possible to stay with his same crew & still get a promotion. He has been reluctant to make captain because he is with a really good crew.

Have a great day all! It's pack or die night for the kids!!!!!

Karen - I hope your back is feeling better!! Believe me when I tell you I feel your pain!! I visit WDW in a wheelchair and back problems are one of the reasons. Congrats to your husband!!!:thumbsup2 I love the excitement of the final packing. I'm a major list person - when I can put little check marks next to things my heart sings :rotfl2:

Sandy - We haven't done the Chocolate Buffet yet, that's on the 26th. But is is so looking forward to it! She attended her first fire meeting last night and filled out her paperwork to be a junior firefighter. All the firefighters are so excited to have a junior! They haven't had one in at least 6 years...probably longer. The Chief already has a small set of turn out gear for her! She can't actually fight fires or be "anywhere in close proximity to a hazardous situation" but she can be close enough to get some great pictures and to learn. She's excited..and a little nervous too. DH is proud as a peacock!!

I'm feeling a little bit better today. I was born with leg/foot deformities and when I over do it with the walking/standing - I REALLY pay for it. We really need to remodel to make our house wheelchair accessible. Someday....
I thank God everyday for my children. They really are so helpful.

Kimba

:cheer2: This is my 13,000th post!!!! :cheer2:

I can't believe I have 13,000 posts under my username:eek:
When I first started on here, I used to wonder how people could have the time to post so much, and what could they possibly be talking about so much. Now I"m waking up an hour earlier than necessary so I can post everyday, and I always have something to talk about :teeth:

Karen - How's your back feeling today?
Did the kids get packed?
How did Jim do on his plotting test last night?

Kimba - My friends niece was born the same as you, and she has hard times as well. I'm sorry it makes you hurt:guilty: but I'm happy to hear that your kids are very helpful - that's so nice!!!! :goodvibes It sounds like you have a very very nice family!!! :goodvibes
**Congrats to your DD on becoming a junior FF - that's so awesome!!! :yay:

Well, I guess I need to get going - it's bathroom cleaning day today!!!
Have a good day everyone!!!

Good morning everyone!

My back is feeling better. I think time is helping, but another nurse also brought me her TENS unit which I used. I don't know if it helped, but I do feel much better.

Packing not accomplished - too much going on! We didn't make it home from James' game until 10pm!!! We will all be home this evening so we can get it done!

kimba - I am sorry you have to deal with chronic pain! After the last 2 days with my back, I couldn't imagine that being a regular occurence.

sandy - congratulations!!!! My goal is just to get a tag! I try & try to be witty and entertaining, but what do I get..... bupkis!!!!

Jim didn't pass the plotting - he focused so hard on what they kept saying was the hardest and didn't really have a good review. He will be at the station today and he can recharge his batteries so to speak. Of course, Bobby the current pilot & Jim's friend will probably work with him today. He can go retake the test - he doesn't have to repeat the class. Maybe Thursday or Friday!:confused3

Well, James is dragging butt after his late game, so I must go motivate!!

:cool1: Hey Karen - Your leaving tomorrow!!!!:cool1:

I'm so excited for you!!!! I want to come!!!! :teeth:
Have a safe and wonderful trip - tell us all about it when you come home!!!:)

I'm sorry Jim didn't pass the test :guilty:
I'll send lots of PD his way for him to pass the next one :wizard:

Have fun my friend!!!!

Bye Karen - I'll miss you!!!!!

Karen - Have a great and safe trip!! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get home!!!

Sandy - Congrats on the 13,000 posts!! :cheer2: I'm still working on reaching 3000:rotfl2:
