sandy - Congrats to Kevin & good luck!!

Sarah has sent me her Christmas lists and I have been to the Budget Board posting and looking for Victoria's Secret codes - they had some great ones last year! I've found two, but would love some more!
We have football practice again tonite!! It is killing me how they changed the structure and now the season is lasting FOREVER!!

I'm up earlier today, because I have to take Stephanie to Santas Secret Workshop at her school before I go to work today. This program is really fun, because it allows children to pick out very inexpensive gifts for their family all by themselves. It's always interesting to see what she picks for each person - I wonder what I'm going to get this year :scratchin

Karen - Thanks for the congrats to Kevin :goodvibes He had a a very overwhelming first day, and the drive was a huge adjustment, but he'll do okay. He's one of the smartest people I know, and if anyone can do this new job, he can :)
**What are Victoria Secret codes? Are they coupons codes do get things online?

Well, I"m off to the shower
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

sandy - Good Morning! I am trying to get Jim out the door to go and buy a tree and the things we need for the yard! I have got to get some decorations out! Of course we have his family party at 2pm and a game at 6pm!! Ugh! The kids and I can probably finsh tomorrow though!

They are online codes - I got some great deals last year. Looks like there are some pretty good ones this year, too! Talk to ya' later!

Well, we survived a very very icy night last night - I really do hate winter!!! :cold:
The guys on the FD even had a hard time getting a rescue truck up a hill because of the ice - unbelieveable!!!!
We are all glad today is warmer, and the ice is gone!!!!

Karen - Holy cow, you had a busy day yesterday :faint: How was the family party?

Well, I gotta run and get ready to go - we desperatly need to go shopping for the essentials today - toilet paper, paper towels, food, etc - Mother Hubbards cupboard is bare!!!!

Have a good day!!

Yesterday was such a yucky day!!!
*I purposly skipped taking my Zyrtec Saturday night (I'm trying to make it last, because I can't refill it until Kevin's new benefits kick in), and I woke up yesterday with such a headache, which then made me very nautious (sp?). We had errands to run, so we went out to breakfast, and I ordered some pancakes, but I couldn't eat it:sad2: So I got some toast and Sprite, and that was my breakfast. I did take some Aleve, and the headache started to get a pinch better, but never gone. We did our errands in the rain :umbrella: until about 3:30pm, and we finally got home. I got the girls ready for bed early, made a light dinner, and we were in front of the tv by 6pm:happytv:
*I took my Zyrtec last night, and this morning I'm feeling much better :thumbsup2

Well, I'm off and running - I got lots to do this morning
Have a good day today!!

We may get some snow today and tonight - it's definitly winter here!! :cold:

Have a good day today!!

Good Mornig everyone!

sandy - I hope you keep feeling better! Did you know you can order Zyrtes online from Canada? Cheaper than here.

I am speed posting this morning. I got up and made the kids hot chocolate and hot breakfast - so not the norm in our house!!
I finsihed shopping for Sarah online this weekend! She is very good about emailing her online wishlists, so with a few clicks she was done!! I used my Victoria's Secrets codes and reduced my total by $60! :woohoo: I also found some really cute Isaac Mizrahi dresses on clearance on the website & picked those up, too. She uses lots of dresses in her sorority life!

Have a super day!

I'm getting busier and busier at the store - I have lots to do!!! :thumbsup2 Christmas is still a decent amount away, which means I have the possiblilty to get busier and busier (fingers crossed) - that would be an awesome way to end the year :teeth:

I don't get it from Canada - but I should look into it - thanks for suggesting it :)

That's good you got Sarah done - I got my kids done too ::yes::
I put my American Girl order into the computer Tuesday, and I already received 75% of that order yesterday :woohoo: I was so surprised!!! I'm hoping the rest comes today, and then I can have no stress about that :thumbsup2

Well, gotta run - have a good day!!!

I would love to just have a calm morning!! Today I am up typing reminder letters for James' class party - yep I'm the room mom! The party is 12/13 so I am trying to gat it all together! It drives me crazy that paretns don't send in their money and items, yet expect everything to be provided for their child. I am really just venting! I don't mind absorbing the cost for families that are in need, it's just that is not the case with most!! OK rant over! I am also working on the team party for football & cheeleading! Again with the paretns who don't pay!! Ok - so the rant wasn't over! I have one mom who has told me twice she would meet me with the money, twice I have gone to the park and stood in the cold, and nope she never showed up!! But I betcha she would pitch a fit if she shows up at the party and doesn't have a trophy & sweatshirt!

I ordered a suprise gift for the family with Sarah's help. Alabama is going to the Independence Bowl (four hours away) and Sarah hooked me up to buy tickets!! Jim & the kids will be very suprised! Now I just have to get some alone time with the computer to find and book a hotel room! I think the tickets will be great in their stockings!

All of Sarah's stuff from Target has arrived. The dresses and rain boots are adorable! I was pleasantly suprised by the coat - I thought it might not be great since it was so darn affordable! But it is a black wool coat and as cute as can be! We don't do alot of coats down here! She has North Face stuff, but needed something dressier. I am very happy with it. I am waiting on the stuff from Victoria's Secret, but they took awhile last year!

Have a great day everyone and TGIF!!!!

I don't blame you for venting - that would make me mad too  I hope the letter helps.

Oh yeah she would - people are UNBELIEVABLE sometimes aren't they?! Alot of my customers are this way too. They don't pay, don't pay, don't pay, and there stuff sits in the store for months, and then when they do pick up, they are mad that their frame has a slight scratch on it from storage - makes me so mad!!!! Now that I have my own store, I put a disclaimer on their receipts saying I'm not responsible for their items after 30 days. There are so many people that want the world, but don't want to lift a finger to get it.

That's great that her stuff is really nice while being really affordable - you are such a good mom!!!

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - we are praying for lots of business today.

Have a good day everyone!

Well tomorrow is my big shopping day with Christine! I am really looking forward to it! I hope to get lots done!

Well tomorrow is my big shopping day with Christine! I am really looking forward to it! I hope to get lots done!

Business yesterday was pretty good :thumbsup2
I'm getting more and more to do :woohoo:

Kevin and I had a great night last night
The girls were with my inlaws, and we went out to dinner, and then Christmas shopping until 11:30pm - we were tired when we got home. We got a lot done and had a lot of good laughs along the way :teeth:

I hope you have tons of fun today, and get lots done today too :)
Have a great day today!!

Nothing eventful happened yesterday - was busy doing alot of little things around the house, and we went to the store and made a banner to hang next weekend that says.......STILL FRAMING FOR THE HOLIDAYS!! Kevin bought a vinal cutter, and we are going to start making banners, tshirts, window decals through the store (well, "we" aren't, Kevin is, I know nothing about it, and I have no desire to learn right now, maybe someday).

Tonight is the FD Christmas party for the kids :santa:
It starts at 6pm, so I'm going to be late, since I don't close until 7pm - these are the times that it bummes me out that I don't have an employee that close the store on her own. It's just getting me more excited for my college employee that's coming home and starting to work on the 17th :woohoo: :yay:

Well, I guess I should get going - lots of laundry to fold before I go to work today.
Have a good day everyone!!

I had a super shopping day yesterday! I went to 7am Mass and the we shopped from 8 until about 7:30! We got alot done! It's a really nice day! We laugh and catch up!

That's great about the extra stuff Kevin is going to do! I know we do a fundraiser (all the parks do) with the window decals every year! We have them for cheerleading, football, baseball... It's very big business around here! If he is doing shirts, then he can make ya'll shirts for your next trip!!

Have a super Monday!

It's pouring rain here right now, and it's a matter of no time before it starts to freeze. With all this crappy weather we are having today, I can guarantee that I'll have NO business today, which really bums me out:guilty: !!!! I guess this will be a good day to catch up and finish the orders I do have, but I need all the business I can get this month, because next month is always dead in the framing industry.
Oh well, I guess we'll see what happens

That's great!!!:woohoo:
I'm so glad you had a good time, and got alot done.
I wish I could go shopping with my friend, but my one good friend lives over an hour away, and my other friend owns the insurance agency next to my store, and she's there as much I'm at my store. Maybe someday we'll have enough employees that we can leave our business for a day, and not feel guilty:rolleyes:

I never thought of that - what a great idea!!!!

Well, I gotta run - have a great day today!!

sandy - So i am not thrilled about the fact that it will probably be 78 today, but that is way better than freezing and pouring rain! It is good to have a day to catch up, that way when the weather is better and you have double the people in the store you'll be all caught up! :goodvibes

Do you all remember how I was so concerned about being slow yesterday due to the weather - boy was I wrong!!!! I was so busy, I still can't get over how busy I was. The girls and I ended up staying at the store until 9pm last night, just so I could get some things done - I was so tired when I came home :faint: Today is my last ad in the newspaper for Christmas :santa: These ads were in an insert that was in the paper every Wednesday for 5 weeks, and these ads have really been good to me - they were worth the money (at least I'm saying that now, I haven't got the bill yet:laughing: ) I will definitly do this again next year:thumbsup2

Karen - I would give my right arm for 78 degree weather right now:) What's the coldest that it gets by you???

Well, the shower is calling me
Have a good day today everyone!!

sandy - That is super news about business yesterday!Good for you!
We do getting freezing weather here, it just doesn't last long. This is not the norm, we are usually in the 40's by now. About once every ten or so years we get some snow!

I am off work tomorrow for James' class party. I fixed up treat bags for every teacher he has had since kindergarten. This is his last year at this shcool! We just love this school! It makes me sad that we won't be there anymore. I found cute Bath and Body gifts for his two female teachers for this year. I arranged a group gift for his primary teacher - they change classes. I was suprised that I ended up with $70 from the class for his gift! I will pick up his gift, buy drinks and pick up the lunches tomorrow before the party.

Emily and I are going to the cheeleading meeting for the whole conference tonite. This is my favorite meeting of the year because as soon as it is over, all of the cheer directors (and some cool daughters) go out for Mexican food and a fun game of Dirty Santa!

Have a super day everyone!

Karen - I hope you have a great day off work today
*How was your meeting last night?
I also gotta ask - what in the heck is "dirty Santa"??? :rotfl2:

We had a good time last night. Emily came with me so it was girls night mother/daughter style after the meeting!

Dirty Santa is a present stealing game. Everybody brings a wrapped gift and draws a number. You pick presents in the order of your number. As you go through the group and it is your turn to pick, you can pick or you can steal someone else's gift. Then they get to pick again. It's really funny! Some people do gag gifts, but we requested only something you want to take home for yourself so no one is disappointed. I got a beautiful snowmen picture frame (even though I tried very hard to get the gift I brought myself) and Emily got a casserole dish. She is so funny - she really gets into the humor of stealing! She had the gift she brought - a make up bag, then someone stole it from her, so it was "game on" from there! She got the casserole because she knew I liked that too, so now she's hoping to open negotiations! :lmao:

Well, I have a busy morning getting ready for James' party today! First I have to cash checks (some people sent checks), then I need to get the teacher's gift and extra drinks. I am going to put together the party bags now, but leave them open in case more stuff is sent to school today. I am going to buy some back up items just in case. Right now we have Christmas pencils and Snickers minis. I was able to score coupons for a free skating session and coupons for a free ice cream so I will put those in, too!

Have a good day everyone!
