Today feels more like a Saturday than a Friday.
I think it's because Kevin is home and so is Stephanie.
We have a busy day planned with errands and church (it seems like all I talk about is having errands lately:rolleyes: )
Than later I have to make some hard boiled eggs so the girls can decorate them tomorrow -they are very anxious to do that!!! :)

Karen - Have fun with Sarah this weekend. I bet you are so excited to have her home!!! :goodvibes :woohoo:

Well, I gotta go get ready for my day
The first errand is the grocery store - so I guess I should make a list:rolleyes:

Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good morning!
I have been up since 6 making cupcakes! I am going to wake Sarah in a few minutes so we can go to The Dollar Tree and buy the rest of the prizes, candy and balloons. We have a few other errands to run. I am going to pick up my niece from school and she is coming tonite. We have had 22 girls RSVP - it's going to be crazy!! We have some games planned with prizes. I am going to make sure every girl gets a prize. We also bought some cute ribbon to give every girl a new hair bow in their goodie bag.
Have a great day every one!!

Good Morning Everyone! Happy Easter Eve! :)

Karen - Somehow I don't expect to see you posting on here today. :lmao: 22 girls! I can't even imagine! I hope it all went well and that they all had a great time, especially Emily!!!

I love your idea for a trip to the Clinique counter! I taught Heather to do her make-up but she and I have the exact coloring. I hardly wear any and that's the way I taught her. She now wears a little more than I do, usually only if she goes out, and she has since learned the art of eyeliner - which I've never been able to master. :lmao:

Sandy - Now you're down to 2 days aren't you?? How are your employers handling the fact that you're leaving? You've been there so long you're probably like family!

I'm glad I was just reading back on posts and saw where you mentioned coloring eggs today! I bought the eggs and dye but completely forgot about it. I better go boil them. Andrew and Matthew have pretty much outgrown the egg-dying but A.J. hasn't. And everyone helps him with it. I think that Andrew and Matthew still want to and still enjoy it but they think they're too old for it...so they get to still have their fun by helping A.J. (They're not too old for their Easter baskets, egg hunting and candy, candy, candy, though! :) )

We were supposed to have some snow flurries last night but no accumulations. It was a bit of a surprise to wake up to about 4" of snow! And it is so cold! Tonight we're supposed to have record cold temperatures.

I went to the urologist yesterday and he says I'm progressing fine. And I talked to the nurse at the doctor's office in VA Tuesday. They were just getting around to doing my disability papers and she said there was a problem with the date to return to work. I had talked to her the week prior and told her I understood that the doctor wanted me off 4 weeks, which would have meant returning to work on 4/10. She called to say that was wrong, he wants me out a full six weeks and they were writing all the paperwork for returning to work on 4/30! She mailed me a note for my boss indicating the new date to be the 30th! I'm thrilled 'cause now I have more time at home! I am feeling a lot better but I'm still not ready for running my butt off at work for 8 hours! If we're busy there are lots of days when I don't sit down and I'm just not up to that yet! And I've said all along that I'd really like to get back to 100% and then have a week left at home before I have to go back to work. ;) So, maybe now that will happen! I spoke to my boss and he's fine with it. He said just to make sure I'm completely better and not to push myself! - I have gotten a letter already from my company about my short-term disability pay, questioning this to have been a pre-existing condition and wanting me to jump through hoops to prove otherwise. I have had kidney stones in the past but have not been treated for them for over four years. So, who knows. But I have said all along that I don't expect to see any short-term disabilty pay for any of this so anything I may get will just be a bonus. We've budgeted everything based on me not getting paid. After five weeks out of work it is starting to be a strain but we'll make it through. We just keep looking at the bright side in that I'm doing better every day and we're all together and we know we'll get the budget and savings back on track after I return to work.

I guess I better get those eggs boiling! Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!

Holy Cow - I think I'm allergic to the tape the physical therapist is using to tape my knee caps in place. Yesterday they were itching itching itching:crazy: So I finally ripped off the tape last night and you should see how red it is where the tape was. I couldn't stop itching them after I took off the tape - I was like a mad woman. Then last night I woke up at 3am with my knees on fire with the itching. So I put this calming cream on them, and that helped them feel better enough to go to sleep. Now this morning they are still horribly red and itching like you wouldn't believe. It's driving me crazy  So, I don't think I'm going to be able to have my knees taped anymore :sad2: But the therapists said she wanted me to use a knee brace anyway - just in time:rolleyes:

Karen - Good luck with the party today:wizard: (or was it yesterday? I'm so confused, which isn't a very far trip for me lately) I'm sure everything will go perfectly!!!

Kathy - I am down to 2 days :sad1: :) All the employees that are currently there haven't been there for to long - so I don't think it's affecting them to much. Kevin already told me he will take me out to dinner on Thursday to celebrate my retirement from there - where should I go? :scratchin
**I'm glad the urologist said you are doing better- that's great news!!! :woohoo: Enjoy your next couple of weeks off - rest and get to 100%. I'm glad your boss is okay with your extra couple weeks - that would be so hard for you if he wasn't.
**I hope AJ enjoys coloring his eggs - I have to go boil mine too in a couple of minutes.

Well, I better go and get some breakfast in the girls
Have a good day today everyone!!

Hi! Just a quick post to tell you I have survived! We had 22 guests for the slumber party!! Everyone is home now - except one girl who will probably stay till this afternoon. I am now going back to bed!! I will post more later!

I'm glad to hear you survived. I still can't believe you had the time to post. If I were you and I had a few minutes I think I would have just passed out ~and~ stayed in bed! :lmao: Go get some rest!

I had a very nice holiday yesterday:) . We had our family over (both sides) and it was very nice day:goodvibes But holidays always wear me out - I was sleeping in front of the tv by 8:45pm :faint:

Well, I gotta go get ready for work
I have 2 days left

Have a good day today!!

HI! We had a great day yesterday, too! We woke up to sleet! We went to 7am Mass. Then my family got together at the yacht club. The day was great! We were all comfortable in jeans - not too cold! James & Emi hunted eggs, we cooked out, it was great! They think the adult egg hunt is the best part - they hide miniatures for the adults.

Wow! Just 2 days! That's so close, Sandy!

Have a great day everyone!

I'm glad you had a great day Sandy! So did we. We had friends over for dinner. They're more like family than friends. She and I do everything together! :) You were sleeping in front of the tv by 8:45 and I went to bed at 8:45! :lmao: Considering our friends didn't leave until 8:30 that's must be record time for me. We must be getting old! :rotfl:

Have fun at work! Only 2 days - must feel great! :cool1:

Sounds like you really did have a great day!

I can't believe that you woke up to sleet - yuck! We still had a pretty good ground-cover of snow yesterday but most of it melted off during the day. We do have lots of long icicles left all over, though. It's still cold but supposed to hit 40 today!

We did have a very nice Easter. I think I wore myself out, though, cooking. We had so much food!! I made a new recipe that I had found for a vegetable casserole. It's vegetables in a white sauce topped with buttered bread crumbs that you mix with some parmesan cheese. If anyone wants the link to the recipe let me know 'cause I highly recommend it. I followed the recipe and made it with carrots, celery, peas and mushrooms. But you could make it with just about any veggies. (I can't wait to try it with cauliflower, broccoli and carrots!) Plus, you can make it ahead and then just pop it in the oven 30 minutes before dinner! (Look at me - I sound like a commercial! :lmao: ) We have lots of leftovers so I won't be cooking much today or tomorrow!! (I always try to plan that way! :teeth:) Plus I sent lots of leftovers home with our friends!

Today's project - I got new valances, sheets and a new bedskirt for our bedroom so I'm going to wash them and get them up/put on today. Plus, I had bought a beautiful quilt for our bed over a year ago when we were in Gatlinburg. When we got home from that trip a friend gave us a beautiful hand-me-down quilt so we started using that and I've never even taken the new one out of the bag! :sad2: So I'm going to wash it and put it on the bed today too!

Today Allen and I are celebrating our 24th anniversary. He has to work part of the day. He has to go in around 12 and the Sheriff's Office has to present their budget requests for the department to the county manager at 3. The Sheriff has told DH that since it's our anniversary he can present his portion of the budget request for his department first and then he'll be free to leave after that part of the budget meeting. We'll see about that. ;) Knowing DH he'll want to stay until the end of the meeting, which is fine. But there has been talk that a certain DH is going to take me to Outback tonight! (Just he and I - no kids, which you know we almost never do!) :cool1:  :cool1:

Hope everyone has a great day!

Things went well at work yesterday - I can't believe I have only one day left. :guilty: :)

Karen - I bet your 7am mass was not nearly as crowded as my 11am mass. People were standing everywhere - it was crazy!!!! I'm glad you had a nice Easter!!:goodvibes

Kathy - Sounds like you had a very nice Easter too :goodvibes I'm glad I wasn't the only sleeping early that night.
**Happy 24th wedding anniversary!!!! :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: I hope you and Allen had a wonderful night last night. :goodvibes
**How does the new quilt look? I bet it looks very nice - what color is it?

Well, I gotta run and get Steph up for school :teacher:
Have a good day today everyone!!

Sandy - Thanks for the anniversary wishes. We had a great evening. DH brought home flowers (red carnations:love: ) then we went to Lowes Hardware for some project ideas (that in itself was a huge anniversary gift because he hates going in there so much - he gave a gift of his time to me ;) ) and then we went to Outback for a very late dinner. We didn't even get there until 9. It was almost empty! :yay: Dinner was delicious...I had coconut shrimp for an appetizer (and I didn't have to share 'cause DH is allergic to shellfish :teeth:), the blue cheese and pecan chopped salad (I wanted to try something different and it was good, but not good enough that I would want it again), and for my meal I had the Outback Prime Rib with a lobster tail. If you've never had the Outback Prime Rib it's delicious...it's oven roasted prime rib that is then seasoned and seared. The searing makes it appear like a steak on the outside, prime rib on the inside. It is soooo good.

Our bedroom is done. What a lot of work. The bedskirt and the swag valances are battenburg lace. I washed them first and did not realize how much they would wrinkle. I ironed all afternoon! But I found that ironing is a great stress reliever so that worked out well! The comforter has rings on it. (Not the wedding ring quilt design. I'm sure it has a name but I just can't think of it.) The primary colors in it are navy blue and maroon. The swag valances and the bedskirt are white which is a big change for us since I usually got with darker colors. It lightened up the room so much. We have a fairly small room so by lightening it up it made it appear a little larger...and a little cleaner. :lmao:

I see you posted that you had to get Steph up for school. Our kids are on spring break this week so I'm enjoying sleeping a little later!

Have a good day everyone!!!
I will - IN THE SNOW!!!!!! :scared1: :cold:

Happy Wednesday!

Sandy - How much snow do you have? We had snow Saturday (4"-5") but it's all gone now. We have rain today but tomorrow it's supposed to be warming up to springtime temps (with the exception of Sunday).

Congratulations on being down to only one day to work! :cool1:

A friend of mine called and said that she has to go to a visitation at a funeral home in TN this evening. She wanted to know if I wanted to drive over there with her to go to dinner with her at Olive Garden. Olive Garden here I come!!!

Hope everyone has a nice Wednesday!

OMG.........today is my last day at work :sad1: :)

After work today, Kevin is taking me out to dinner to celebrate my retirement. Now I have to think where I want to go - what do I have a taste for????? :scratchin

Kathy - I'm glad you had a nice anniversary :goodvibes
**Your new room sounds lovely. I would love to change my room, because I'm not to thriilled with what I picked out when we moved into this house 3 years ago. Maybe after things settle down around here:rolleyes:
**I hope your kids enjoy their spring break. Stephanie had hers the week before Easter.
**The snow is gone now, because after it snowed, it poured rain for many hours. Luckily, the rain stopped when I had a huge delivery come so Kevin, my DBro, and I didn't have to be out in the rain.
**Thanks for the congrats on my last day - I'm looking forward to it being over because this day is going to be hard after being there for 19 years.
**I hope you had a nice dinner at Olive Garden. We just went there last week.

Well, I gotta run and get ready for my last day
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Kathy - sounds like you had a great celebration! The room sounds great! My kids are out next week, so I will sleep a little more then!
