Good Monday morning!!!

I watched 2 movies this weekend - both of which I have seen before.
Saturday I watched the original The Omen - that movie is so scary, and not gory. If it was rerated today, I'm sure it would be PG-13. The whole time I was watching it, I don't think I heard a single swear word.
The last night I watched Notting Hill - I love that movie. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend it

Good Morning!! One event down, one to go! Homecoming went well this weekend. The girls all enjoyed their gifts. The day was beautiful. I am now in one week count down mode to competition. This will be a very busy week!

Good Tuesday morning everyone!!

Today I am going to my Broker to pay them my starting money - I'm feeling a little nervous, like cold feet, and I don't know why. I never get this way, but with this I am - I don't get it I guess this takes a good couple of hours, so this is how I am spending my morning.

Karen - I'm glad homecoming went well for you last weekend. Good luck with this stressful week - I"ll send some PD your way to help you not get to stressed out

Good Wednesday morning everyone!!

Yesterday after I took care of business at my Brokers home office, I went to the office I'm working out to touch base with my managing broker. As I was walking in, my manager stuck her head out the school door and said they had a speaker coming and if I had time, I could stay. I said, "Sure, Stephanie won't be home from school for awhile." So I stayed, and the speaker was very interesting. He talked about how to read people's eye's to know how they are feeling before they talk (this will come in handy when my girls are teenagers and I want to know if they are lying about something ). He also talked about how to talk to different type of people, especially optimistic vs. pesimistic (sp?) people - very interesting!!! I know so many of each type of people

Sounds like an interesting talk and you are right - those skills of reading people's eyes will definitely come in handy when your girls are a little older!

So, now what...do you go and hit the pavement to find listing or do listings come to you or how does that work. (I'm so dumb when it comes to real estate stuff.)

slo - Has Stephanie finished up soccer season yet?

Matthew's last game was Tuesday night. It was in the high 20's and the wind chill brought it down in the teens. Naturally I stood out there for the whole game. DH and A.J. stayed in the van because DH had found a good spot where he could see the game from. But when the team was down on the other end of the field and they couldn't see then they would get out for a few minutes to watch. Matthew's team won the game 3-1 and ended the season undefeated. I'm so proud of him and the whole team. They did an awesome job working together as a team - no hotshots! Now basketball starts Monday!

Stephanie is on Fall Break the rest of the week, which is nice because I don't have to rush as much in the morning I do have to go to work today though which is a bummer I would much rather be home with the girls so we could go to the show or something. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain about working only 2 days a week

I have this morning off but this afternoon and evening are going to be busy for me...

The FD is coordinating with the Fire Marshall's Office and Emergency Management and we're having a mock disaster this afternoon (evening). The scene will be an 18-wheeler having hit a church van head-on. There will be 16 victims and, oh yeah, the 18-wheeler was carrying hazardous materials! The guys on the department only know that it will be a drill but they don't know where or exactly when. It will be toned out around 5 like a regular call. I get to see all the behind-the-scenes stuff while Emergency Management is setting it up because I'm going to be video taping and taking pictures for training purposes. They're going to start setting it up around 1:30.

We're supposed to get rain this afternoon and it's going to be in the low 40's or high 30's so that will definitely put a crimp in some of it!

Wish me luck! It should be very interesting!

Yes, I will be staying at my other job only on Mondays and Thursdays probably until Katie starts kindergarten in 3 years. I have to still work at this job to pay for the daycare, and I need the daycare in order to go into the Brokers office on Tuesdays. I don't mind this arrangement because Katie loves going to the daycare, because there are kids there that she's been with since she was in the infant room there - these kids are literally growing up together. I think she would miss them if she didn't go there anymore, plus, she does so many fun things there that she wouldn't do at home (like playing with shaving cream and doing really messy crafts - I'm not very crafty).

How did everything go yesterday??? Please let us know.

Katie is getting her Halloween pictures taken this morning at Sears, and they are going to be so cute!!! She is Cinderella for Halloween, and I'm going to perform my own Bibbitty Boppity Boo Salon in my bathroom this morning. I got the fake hair, crown, and everything

Then tonight we are having some friends over for dinner. It should be nice because the guy was the best man at our wedding, and we haven't seen him in about 10 years. He is now married, and we get to meet his new wife Stephanie is excited about them coming because she gets to babysit Katie for money - she loves to get money!!!

Sounds like you have a busy and exciting day! Enjoy dinner with your old friend. It will be nice for you and Kevin to meet his new wife. I wish we could get together with the guy that was best man at our wedding one of these days!

Yesterday was great. I've never been involved in such a large scale excercise such as this. DH was really bummed, though, because yesterday morning he found out that he wasn't going to be able to get off work early to be there as planned. The excercise was on one of our major roads, a lot of traffic even though it's only a 2-lane, and the plan was that we would be completely off the road. Well, there were so many trucks there that they did have to close one lane so they called the sheriff's office. Guess who got sent. At least he still got to see it, even if he couldn't participate.

After the excercise we all went back to the FD for a catered meal and we discussed it all. There were four other departments that had been called out, in addition to the medics and the sheriff's office. It was a great turn out and a great experience. I'll try to post a few pics over the weekend.

Good very early Saturday morning!!

I'm going on a Pumpkin Patch DIS meet this morning, and it's going to be alot of fun!!! I'm so tired though, because our friends didn't leave until after 11pm and I didn't get to bed until after 12am. The Meet is at 9:45am, and I'm wishing now that our friends would have left a little earlier - oh well!!!

Kathy - I'm glad your drill went well and that your DH was able to come.

Good Sunday morning everyone!!!

I went to a DIS meet at a pumpkin patch yesterday and it was so much fun!!
I sure hope that all us ladies from this thread can meet someday - we'll have to think of something. Maybe we can someday do a WDW meet with just us ladies - wouldn't that be fun!!!! Something to think of for the future.
