We end late because were on the quarter system and we dont start until late late september. I cant believe this quarter is going by so fast, and then i have my friends birthday and wedding, and directly after that is when i start my summer session 1 :faint:

Hopefully you guys wont have to be that hectic. I hope you enjoy sarah getting home!:goodvibes

Hi shooting star! Congrats on the baby!

Sorry g2g finish getting ready and get to the store before class.:scared1:

Hello everyone!

shootingstar - :welcome: Congratulations on your impending arrival! Please come visit often!

sam - Hi! You are busy!! How are Marc & Sunny? Did you do well on your mammal test?

sandy - Hi! How is Sophie? How have you been? Have you tried walking yet? How's your weather?

I am on call this weekend. i will be heading out in a few to see a couple of patients. Emi has a carwash today (fundraiser for trip to NY & DC), James has a baseball game and then we are going to see Jim's mom for Mother's Day. There may be a family gathering at my house tonight for the new baby. I refuse to stress about the house, though! I don't even know if it will be today, why worry? Have a great day everyone!

I hope you had a great family gathering! if it did happen that is.;)

I think i did well on my test, but well see on tuesday or next thursday. Now i have to concentrate on all those other tests. :faint: Marc and sunny are good. I was so happy to finally see marc again. We made a nice dinner and just stayed home and watched a movie. Today was a big shopping day for us. Very tiring. We went to best buy, michaels, the pet store, and target. marc got a game. the other day he surprised me and bought wii fit. Thatll be fun, and hopefully maybe ill work out more often.

so we went to michael's and he got some painting stuff to make masks for paintball, and i got some beads and fastenings. i made a necklace the other day, and now im making some wine glass charms. Ill make a dozen or so to give my friend with her wedding gift, and ill just make some more for fun. theyre super easy and really cute. At target make bought some new clothes. This is one of the first times hes actually gone shopping for clothes himself in years and he was having fun trying to make himself more stylish.:rotfl: He got some jeans, t shirt, vest, and swim shorts. The vest is too big, but hes really tall and long and it was clearance, so i told him it take it in for him.;) We got both our moms mothers day gifts and cards that hell deliver to them on monday when he gets into town. His mom got a tote that will carry tons of craft supplies and books/paper. Hopefully shell get good use out of it because shes a 2nd grade teacher. My mom got a set of leafy vine wall sconces and some candles to go into them. I hope she likes them and actually gets around to hanging them up. :goodvibes we also got a prefab scrapbook on sale at michaels that marc wants to put together for his moms bday in july. Guess who going to have to do it.

I hope everyone has a happy mothers day!

This is a super quickie because I have company coming over soon, and I'm still in my pj's (I just can't get motiviated).

Sorry I haven't been on lately - I've been trying to get my profile up and running on LinkedIN. Now it is officially done, and I have another things to keep up with :faint: I'm hoping the LinkedIn will help me connect with other business owners and generate more business for me {{fingers crossed}}

I want to say a big welcome to ShootingStar :welcome: Please come by often, because we would love to get to know you!!!! Also, welcome to The DIS - I see you just joined in January :)

I gotta run and now curl Katie's hair. She's in tears because Stephanie slept in rollers last night, and now her hair is curly, and Katie's hair is not - oh the drama!!!

Have a good day!!!

Hi all! Just q quick good morning!

Our get together went well Sat and Zane (the new baby) is just wonderful! I get to watch him for a while today. He was born in the middle of finals and now his mommy has to finish her tests. No complaints from me! We had a good Mother's Day. i had a couple of patirnts to see. Me and the kid (Haley included) fixed dinner and went to my mom's. We cooked there and had a great meal together. The kids and I gave her a "big box of love" which was a box filled with letters about why we love her and our favorite memories.

Today I have another dentist appt. I am so freaked out every time I go. it has been really hard to keep going back, but I know I need to get everything done. Today he's working on one that will probably be hard. I just hope he can fix it and doesn't have to send me for a root canal!

Well, it's the start of another week.
I hope we all have a good week coming up :wizard:

Did you all have a good Mother's Day?
Mine was good. Kevin and the girls helped clean the house, my family came over, spent some time with my neighbors, and then had a pretty relaxing evening reading my book (The DaVinchi Code - yes, I'm still reading it  )

Karen - I"m so glad that Emily had a nice confirmation:goodvibes and congrats to her on making captain - that's awesome!!!!:cheer2:What a great memory for her, and this will also be great experience!!!!!
*No, I haven't been walking - it's to hard with Kevin home all the time. Last year I got up with him, and was out walking by 6:15am. Now I get up at 6am, because I don't feel like getting up by myself that early. Plus, the last couple of time I worked out I ended up with worse headaches than before, and I just don't want to deal with it. How about you? Have you been working out?
*Sophie's sore seems to be doing better, but it's not gone. If it doesn't get completely better soon, than I'm going to need to take her back to the vet. I sure hope it does, because they are expenses we just don't need right now.
*I"m glad you had a nice Mother's Day, and had some nice time with your new nephew (I love his name too). The gift you gave your mom sounds really creative, and I may have to steal that idea for next year :teeth:
*Good luck at the dentist today:wizard::wizard:

SSM (ShootingStarMom2) - Congrats on your new baby coming. We can hardly wait to hear all about your new baby when he or she arrives:goodvibes How old is your DS? I have 2 girls who are 10 & 5 :cutie::cutie:

CB - Good luck on your other test coming up :wizard:
*It sounds like you and Marc had a good shopping day :goodvibes

Well, it's time to get this week going - have a good day!!!

Hi!

We had a nice MD. We went to brunch at a local resort and then I went to the cemetary to see my mom. She passed away 5 years ago so after DS went down for a nap (so did DH, ha ha) I went and visited. We also went to DMILs for dinner and hung out for a few hours. It was fun.

My DS (Brycen) is 19m and the new baby, another boy, will be named Cameron. They will be 20m apart. We have an ultrasound today to check on the baby because my BP was high last week. They also did a non-stress test which they want to do now until the baby comes. I'm trying to think calming thoughts so it stays low. Easier said than done, right? :goodvibes

I'll check in later. Have a great day.
Jen

This is my quick Tuesday morning "hello" :wave2: (I have my Leads Group this morning)

SSM - I"m glad you had a nice Mother's Day :goodvibes
**Your boys are going to be really close together - you'll love it!!!! My friend has boys that are 18 months apart, and even though it was a challenge in the beginning, she is LOVING it now. They are so close, and always enjoy each other's company.
**How did everything go with the ultrasound yesterday? I had many non-stress tests with Stephanie (my 10yr old), because I could never feel her move. I hope your tests went well.:wizard:

I gotta go get ready to go
Have a good day!!!

Morning all! I had another dentist appointment yesterday - I still hate it! My jaw is sore this morning.

sandy - I haven't been working out. Now that Sarah is home, we are going to see about signing her up for the summer and then I would have a workout buddy.

shootingstar - how was the ultrasoud and NST?

sam - how's school?

Good morning

The US and NST went fine. Cameron is growing and moving just as he should be. I am excited about having them closer in age because my sisters and I are 8 and 10 years apart. I hope that they will be good friends. :goodvibes

Karen - I too hate the dentist. I want to cry when I see their phone number on the caller id! I usually let them leave a message to escape. DH is even worse than I am. But he's promised to get some things taken care of before Cameron is born. popcorn:: Uh huh.

We're off to the store. Have a great day!
Jen

What a wet soggy day around here :umbrella:

Yesterday was a busy busy day.
Went to my Leads Group, came home and grabbed Katie, rushed to work, went to a Chamber of Commerce function at 5pm, at 6:10 Kevin calls me to remind me I have to take Stephanie to church/CCD for May Crowning that starts at 6:30 (he had a town meeting), naturally I forgot, so I quickly left the Chamber function to rush home, grab the girls, rush to church, then finally after that I was able to come home :faint: (My Saturday was very similiar to this). Today should not be as crazy.

Karen - I"m sorry your mouth hurts from the dentist :guilty: What type of work are you having done?

SSM - I'm glad everything is fine with the baby - that is great news!!!!:)

Well, it's time to sign off, and get this day started.
Have a good day everyone!!!

:wave2:

Sorry i dont have much time to post, im busy busy busy studying and tests, etc.

Sandy- thanks for the wishes on FB.:goodvibes

Good morning! Today is 8th grade graduation for Emily and tomorrow is the dance. I keep waiting for things to slow down and they never do!

sandy - I am getting some old fillings fixed/replaced and having some new ones! I feel like it will never be done. It just makes me sick to my stomach! I hate going!

shootingstar - I am glad everything went well!! I am an absolute dentist phobe! That explains why so much is wrong now!

sam - Hi! Are you on Facebook? I signed up yesterday! I am going to try to post pictures tonite.

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday - our internet was down because of some bad storms.

Speaking of that storm - it was an ANGRY storm!!!
Poor Kevin was out with the FD from 11:30pm to 4am (you may have seen him on the news when they talked about our town). Then he came home, and had another call at 6:30am, and he ran many other calls (not storm related) during the course of the day - he was exhausted last night!!!!

CB - How are the finals going? I can't send PD on FB, so I'll send it here :wizard:

Karen - How was Emily's graduation last night? I hope it went well.
**I'll direct you to Sam on FB

Well, it's time to drag Steph out of bed, and I need to make her a lunch.
Have a great day everyone!!!

I hope emilys graduation went well. I hope she enjoys her dance tonight. I remember mine, it was a ton of fun. :goodvibes

Sandy- im glad to hear your ok. Im so glad we dont get big storms and stuff here.

Ive been really busy the past 2 weeks. One more midterm this afternoon and im done with midterms. Its stats, so hopefully it will be as easy as the last test was. Then i have 3 weeks of class and finals week. But im having at least one of my finals before finals week so itll still be hectic. my friends are getting married around that time too so itll be even crazier.

After my classes end im going home for CJ(bff) 21st birthday. were planning a hawaiian theme. Then i have to come straight back to davis and take finals, but right after finals back home because Cj's Bachelorette party is that friday. :faint: But then ill be all done with school and ill probably stay at home for the following week because it leads up to the wedding. After that straight back to davis for summer school. :cool1: NOT!

Everyone have a great weekend! ill be gone helping my parents at a paintball game so ill talk to you monday!

Hi forgive me if I am too long but this is a great thread. My Dad is 82 now but he was a NYC firefighter for 26 years. As a boy, I took for granted that that was what he did for a living. My sububan Long Island community was filled with firefighters and police officers. As I grew I realized what it like for my Mom wondering if he would come home from each shift, sleeping alone while he was working. In the 1970's He often covered the Bronx which was literally burning down. He was once only one step behind another FF who fell 2 stories when the floor fell in. To me, as a kid, it was fun to go to the fire house and play on the truck (once i got to slide down the pole, yes his fire house had a real brass pole). As I grew I was a little jealous. Firefighters weren't paid enough for us to visit WDW when it opened and other kids were going. I had to settle for Hershey Pa. and Amish country. But he put me was always there for me and he sent me to an Ivy league college and on to Law school.

My Dad always attended funerals for firefighters who died on the job. On father's Day, 2001 there was a terrible tragedy in NY. Three firefighters, all fathers, lost their lives that day. When I asked my dad if he was going to the funerals, he told me that he was just getting too old, it took too much out of him. Little did we know that less than three months later the Father's day tragedy would be eclipsed when 343 lost their lives because they ran into two buildings that everyone else was running out of.

In the Spring of 2002 I ran the Long Island half marathon, I wore a t-shirt from my fathers company: engine 263. It was an emotional day on Long Island, where so many of those who had died on 9/11 had lived. The thousands that ran that day were all running to honor the thousands that had died for our country. Every time I passed a firehouse I made sure they saw my shirt. I placed 343rd in that race; and I wouldn't be more proud if I had finished first.

For all of who who have husbands, wives, parents or children who are firefighters: God Bless you.

tg - thank you so much for your post! I undersatnd what you mean about not getting the whole picture as a kid! My kids look at their dad and just see "invincible". I however, often give him the drill - "Are you wearing all of your protective equipment?". Thank you for sharing with us! I hope you come by again!

sam - I love that dress! We have become fans of the website! Emi is currently dreaming about prom dresses.

sandy - I am glad you are all OK!

Emily's graduation was great. She got 10 awards. They just left for the dance. The girls are going out to dinner and then to the dance. Jim & I will go for callouts (emi is on the court) and then we are going to dinner with my coworkers to celebrate no Synagis for 6 months.
I will let ya'll know how the dance goes!

Just a quick post before I go gracery shopping...

Emily got Miss Phillips (same as Prom queen)!!!!!:woohoo::cloud9: Jim & I were there because she was on the court and we wanted to see call outs! She was really suprised!! I will try to post a picture later! Today is the day I get some pics on FB, too. Well, maybe...

:surfweb:
Sorry I've fallen off the face of the earth this weekend :upsidedow.
We've been having some internet issues, and it's put a damper on my DISing:guilty:

Since I've been on.....
Friday - just worked all day, and then went back to work and worked until 10pm.
Saturday - just worked all day, went to church at night, did some chores around the house, and then watched the season finale of CSI NY (DVR'd).
Sunday - the girls spent the day with their grandma, Kevin was at Indy, I did laundry, scrubbed the kitchen and foyer floor, scrubbed some walls (I am now a little sore from all this scrubbing), switched over my winter clothes to summer clothes, and other chores, then went to work to meet a friend/customer, finally sat and watched some tv in the evening.

So, I've been very busy and productive this weekend!!!!! :faint: I wish I could have got a lot more done around the house, but I just didn't have time.

The girls had a fantastic time with their Grandma yesterday. They went to an American Girl Doll tea party, and they both came home with great raffle prizes. Stephanie won a new AG game, and Katie won they big prize, which was the 2009 doll of the year - Chrissa. She was, and still is, SO excited!!!!!:yay:

CB - How did you last midterm go?
*Your friends 21st bday sounds like a blast!!!

tgoralski - :welcome:
Welcome to our thread!! Please, please, come by anytime and visit - we would love to have you!!!
*Your post is so touching!!! Thank you for writing it!!!!

Karen - I'm so glad that Emily's graduation and dance went well. Congrats to her on all her awards, and for getting Prom Queen:cheer2:How exciting for her, and what great memories for her to always have!!!!!:goodvibes

It's time for me to check on my other threads, because I've been MIA from them too. Have a great day!!!

Just a quick fly-by today :car:
