Been pretty silent around here. DH is on his Kelly day right now so he has been home for 5 days .

I did go to the station house and cook last weekend. They were happy and full when I left. I think there was enough food for the next shift Now if they didnt put the lock back on the shift fridge the other shift will get some LOL

Hello everybody!!!!

I'm just checking in real fast tonight. I have to print off some Pizza Hut coupons because Stephanie wants to have pizza delivered for lunch to celebrate her birthday tomorrow. I am not that thrilled with this idea because it will be pretty costly, but it is her last b-day at the daycare and I caved and said I would do it. Her real b-day is Thursday and she is the luckiest kid when it comes to b-days - they always last for two weeks. Last week she had her party w/ my friend and her children, tomorrow's her party at the daycare, Thur. I am taking off work and we are doing something for the real b-day, Friday I am taking off work and we are getting her photo taken and my mom & grandma are coming w/ to take her out to lunch, and then Sunday is her family b-day party. She really is so lucky!!!!

DH is at his softball game tonight - I am expecting him home very soon because it is lightning out. But, knowing them they will play as long as humanly possible, even though it may not be safe. Tell me ladies - do your DH's do unsafe things when you think they should know better because they are fireman/EMT's? My DH sure does!!!! - and I just don't get it.

Well, I am going to run and go to bed. I can always count on Stephanie waking up in the middle of the night when there is a thunderstorm. I hope everybody is having a great summer so far and I hope to hear from you all really soon!!!!

Hey! Just saw this thread. My DH is a brave firefighter for the local city here. He is on a 24 on/48 off schedule with no kelly days.

Hi All!

I just noticed this thread!! DH is a paid firefighter/EMT-I for a city in Southern Maine. He is also a volunteer captain for two towns near us!! (On his days off from his paid job, he works perdiem for one of the towns he volunteers from!!) He is hardly ever around, but as you know firefighting is his life!!

It is nice to know that I am not alone!!!

Hello everybody - and welcome all our new wives - good to hear from you!!!!!!!!!!!

Mad4Mickey - thanks for keeping the thread going - I am never on the computer lately and I miss it very much!!!

Things have been very crazy around here. Stephanie turned 6 last week, so we had her birthday party in the middle of Katie having Hand, Foot and Mouth disease + another ear infection. Then yesterday, Kate started w/ another fever and I have no idea why. Her being sick, literally all the time, is becoming very frustrating. I am beginning to really not look forward to going to Disney in a month because I feel I am going to be stuck in the hotel w/ Kate the whole time because she is going to be sick. DH says that is very negative of me to feel that way, but how else should I feel. She is sick ALL THE TIME!!!! My Pediatrician is starting to get concerned also. Kate does go to a daycare, but she is getting sick to often for it to be normal for daycare children. I knew when I started Kate in daycare at 6 weeks that I was going to have my share of illnesses, but this is insane. The person I feel most sorry for is Stephanie, her life has really been put on hold this year. Yesterday for instance, we were going to go in the pool, but we couldn't because Kate had the fever and I didn't want her out in the heat. Today is suppossed to be hot and Steph is already asking about the pool and I don't know what to tell her. Oh well, I won't bore you anymore with this, I am just frustrated, I want Kate to feel good and enjoy things and not for her to be stuck in the house all the time.

Well, how is everything with you???? Hopefully everything is going well. Hopefully I will be on here again more sooner than later.

To all the new wives that will be visitiing, this is a great thread to talk to other fireman wives about life. If you need someone to talk to, please talk to us. We may not respond right away because it's summer and we are not on as much - but we visit this sight when we can.

Hello - it's August 3rd and I was just checking in. I hope everyone is doing well. Stephanie now has the hand, foot, and mouth disease - so needless to say, my kids are still sick. I am praying this will be the end of it - please pray for me too!!!

That's so funny that you asked about the timer, because I was just telling DH what my timer said and his response was "Thank God, it can't come soon enough".

To answer your question - my timer is pretty much dead on for the correct time. How much is yours off? By the way it reads now, it appears that we will be just missing each other down there. We will be arriving in Tampa on Sept 17th and we will be arriving in WDW on Sept. 20th. The days we are in Tampa we spend with DH's parents. Stephanie really enjoys this alot!!!

Has your DH been watching that new show on FX called Rescue Me? My DH really enjoys it and watches it every week - this has been the third week it has been on.

well mine is off by a month but not always. It was right this morning and now it is off by 30 days or so .

We are leaving WDW on Sept. 26th. It's to bad we are just missing each other - we could have set up a time to meet each other. Maybe another time

How's everything going? Everything is going pretty smooth here - I've gone 2 days w/o any sick kids. We are doing a lot of packing, for the moving day is getting closer and closer.

Next Saturday I am registering DD for kindergarten - I can't believe it , my baby is growing up.

How's everything w/ the FD? DH has been keeping busy - alot of medical calls and very little fires. This, of course, really bums them out. You know them, they all like a good fire once in awhile

Morning...vacation for me this week..DD starts school on Wednesday so I am going to spend the week being "Mommy"
Anyone seen the new movie "Ladder 49"..I don't know..looks alot like Backdraft if you ask me..and I am not a Travolta fan...but I guess we will see it
